Oh, OK then, "Fancy strippers"

No, it's still cosplay. You're just more of an attention whore than usual.

Kanemano: Burlesque? oh you mean strippers.

Oh, OK then, "Fancy strippers"

They're like strippers except you don't have to tip them and, in general, they've yet to be totally jaded by the experience. I think it has to do with the fact that most burlesque dancers do it for fun rather than because of financial necessity. I know a few girls who do burlesque, and they're all college educated with good jobs.
That having been said, I don't really dig them. For some reason I can't get an erotic thrill just from seeing women jump around half naked. I know, I think it's weird, too. It'd be different if it was fun, but mostly I just find the whole thing silly.
And yet I think drag shows are hilarious. Hmmm. This might bear some contemplation.

HobGadling: I know, I think it's weird, too

I don't think it's weird. I tend to find naked people terribly uninteresting. Naked girls are more interesting than naked guys, but even that's not terribly exciting.

I'm kinda put off by the Rei one.

I'm not sure if it's because the character is 14, or because the character is an unholy clone abomination with severe mental detachment designed to exploit the main character's mommy issues.

The one in the article that did Rei Ayanami should have been slapped for thinking she could pull off that character. The clothes yes, but no one wants to see a pudgy Rei.

/Actually I wouldn't want to see that lady with her clothes off either

I'm old so I don't know much about cosplay, much less who the characters are. I did find Belle Cheres photostream though and it is pretty nice. I think I'm in love with Vampirella. Enjoy.

I didn't know Courtney Love was into cosplay. I shouldn't be surprised, though. Her talents are manifold.

I also found some more photos of Lindze Merritt who plays Morrigan the Succubus in the last photo of the second post(Mentats) of this thread. Shes pretty nice looking also. Full figured and curvy like Belle Chere. I think I might like this cosplay stuff. Enjoy this one also.

I guess that answers the question about why there's so much photoshop in Cosplay. I have to ask, who is the 'no one', though? Every time I go to one of the cosplay forums the contributors are adamant that it's about the clothes not the body type. Many of the contributors who are actually cosplayers get outright pissed off.

Is the 'no one' a specific set of non-cosplayers who use cosplay for masturbation material? If it is, why should that set determine what type of photos get passed around? If it isn't... who exactly is 'no one'?

I've caught both Lindze and Belle at cons, and love seeing both of them play dress-up... but for my money, you simply can't top Ruby Rocket for the combination of great costumes and overall smokin' hotness - incredible body, gorgeous face, and attitude to spare. To wit:

As Silk Spectre from "Watchmen"

As Dr. Mrs. The Monarch from "Venture Bros"

Yowser! Very nice indeed. Thank you. I don't remember seeing her before, but my only exposure to cosplay has been fark. Shes the best looking no doubt. Just from looking at her I believe you about her having attitude to spare. Ruby Rocket huh? Heh I'll have to remember her and the other girls and check up on them from time to time to see what costumes they've made and photoshoots they've done. I gotta say I admire how much time and effort they put into their costumes. They are really detailed and must be made well to hold together with the strain those girls put on them.

Kind of a perfect match, cosplay and burlesque. Two areas where marginally attractive gals can get the attention they always craved.
