so, when do they sell out?

currently, just under 1,400 available. and this hits the fark main page around 1:00 EST this afternoon.

WhoIsPurpleGoo: I ordered mine about the same time I posted above. There were 1,400 in stock at the time. 45 minutes later there are 64 gone. So they're selling at about 85/hour, so far. If they keep selling at that rate, they'll be gone by 2:45 A.M. tomorrow.

Note: my math is probably wrong.

Just think, now you can insert Strong Bad into your anus.

Now I know why the Brothers Chap never returned my email about licensing their IP for collectible action figures.

They do look nice though...good job!

While I'm sure the figures look a lot like the 3D rendering they have on the page, I'd really like to see a photo of the actual figures... perhaps perched upon a tire for proper display.

don't forget the CGNU t-shirt of the month or the white trogdor shirt.

2003-07-14 12:36:25 PM
Man... those are hella-sweet.

2003-07-14 01:04:48 PM
Sweet... got mine. Only 1192 left too.

Maybe I'm losing my eye for it, but I'm not convinced those are cg. I'd have thought they would have simply rendered them over a white background in the first place as opposed to doing a dodgy job photoshopping one in.

No poopsmith of KOT. Oh well, on a scale of 0 -10 they're still totally awesome.

2003-07-14 01:32:54 PM
Awww, no Homsar! Also, they should make individual figurines available, for those of us too broke to afford all of them for 30 bucks.

2003-07-14 01:39:37 PM
Where's my e-mail? It's monday and there's not e-mail.

Although the "action" figures do look pretty sweet.

$30 for 2 inch figurines?! Your all high.

2003-07-14 01:47:06 PM
Holy crap. They're expensive.

2003-07-14 01:50:36 PM
1128 left.

I ordered 2 sets... I figure I've gotten a lot of entertainment for free from homestarrunner.com for quite a while now, never gotten anything from them before or paid them money, so this is a good way to support them and get some cool figurines at the same time.

What? No Trogdor?

Meh. I'm ordering them anyhow.

2003-07-14 01:53:28 PM
Who, in their right mind, would pay $30 for that?

2003-07-14 02:02:32 PM
Yeah, I agree with Andorion.

I got one for me and one for my two-year-old. She's known to stick her arms out and sing 'check it out, check it out, check it out...'.

Coolest. Toys. Ever.

Those look amazing. I only hope they look as good in real life...

2003-07-14 02:16:10 PM
IMO, they should pay *me* to get these things. Blah.

2003-07-14 02:17:06 PM
That's really cool, but I agree that they're still missing a lot of characters. Which means that they'll have to release a second or third wave.

2003-07-14 02:17:21 PM
They look to me to be about the same quality as the stuff you get out of cereal boxes. I'd rather have monday's new sbemail instead of this.

Though they would make good conversation pieces.

2003-07-14 02:24:26 PM
WHAT!, no trogdor?

Anyone think that the Strong Mad figurine looks like one of those 80s ice cream bars?

Mmmm...Strong Mad-o-licious.

/hungry

2003-07-14 02:38:52 PM
Good god, I thought it was $30 for one of them--not the set.

For the set that changes things. Changes it to "still no way, but atleast not a ripoff".

I already bought a few tshirts...my tithe is given.

2003-07-14 02:41:45 PM
GhostInAJar

Hmm... That is a good idea. Create some design plans, box art, and submit it to them. Be a partner in crime!

2003-07-14 02:42:06 PM
The Homestar Runner action figures are tempting, but I'd rather have a CD-R of some more white blues played by a guy with the kind of longish hair on his acoustic guitar
/failed college physics, again...damn berkeley

When people talk about the $30 dollars, they are forgetting the $9 dollar shipping charge. :)

It said $7.00 for shipping when I checked it out, but still... $37.00 for figures that are the same quality/size of the ones that you could get in a Happy Meal (with fries and a shake mind you) for about 3 bucks is just too much. Not that I blame them or anything; I know it costs a shiatload to make "action" figures as I've looked into getting some made for myself in the past. But still, there's gotta be a pretty farkin' high mark-up on these things.

And yet... I'm still drawn to them. :(

2003-07-14 03:04:49 PM
$37.00 For me. and they are down to 971 left.

2003-07-14 03:07:05 PM
yo, it's so worth it

normal action figures cost like 10 bucks atleast. i'll gladly pay 40 bucks for my homestar figures. and i did!
