You want to watch and wank to Lucy Lawless licking lovely lesbians' labias.

That sounds morbid, and/or a bloody mess.

The fighting/killing was my least favorite part of the series. Whatever, it's what I watch to mourn the loss of Rome and pretend like it's a decent substitute.

It took me a few episodes to get into it but it was a fun ride once I did.

It's not thier fault that he got cancer though... He was heading back to start filming the 2nd season and relapsed :(

Here's hoping that he gets better.

But luckily, the show has plenty of both, so we don't have to choose!

I don't think anyone is getting off on it. Seriously, are you picturing people whacking it to Spartacus?

I thought they had already done a movie very similar to this and called it Centurion?

2011-01-10 09:16:54 AM
I ended up watching the series in about a week, courtesy of a streaming site. All in all not a bad show, but I can't help but think some body in the directing/art group watched or read 300 a few too many times. Some scenes could have been direct copies.

Gay guys, for sure. Have you SEEN the muscles on these guys? Hit pause on the DVR, then fappity, fappity.

Bring on the whore-slaves and overly gratuitous violence! The happenings of the Dominus & Domina were the better parts of the show any ways. Sucks about the Sparticus guy though, hard break for sure.

Spartacus was one of the best series last year. The first 3 episodes were ok, but as soon as the story was set and the characters introduced, the series blasted off. The first three were the fall of Spartacus and him reaching the lowest of the low (fighting in the pits of the underworld) and climbing back up. Granted I was more interested in the boobs and gore when it first started, but the deciet, betrayal, and evil done by those at the ludus was a much more interesting story.

/Spartacus: come for the boobs and gore, stay for the story.

Your thoughts are wrong.

Centurion is as close to Spartacus as 2001 is to Spaceballs.

What about the Flashbick, is it as awesome as we've all dreamed?

I was upset that we never really got a lesbian payoff between Lawless and Ilithyia. They were always mouth-kissing and hinting at it, but it never happened. Unlike that big lesbian payoff in 'Rome' between Octavia and Servilia.

At least Ilithyia got the surprise sparta-buttsecks followed by a nice choking.

It gets tired after a while, but I still prefer wide angle slo-mo shots to the dreadful shaky-cam grim-dark fights that were all the rage for a while, because it's easier to mask that the actor can't fight and there's no choreography (and of course because of all the closet case Tapout bros).

On the other hand, if I can choose between either of those or seeing the Flynn-Rathbone stairway fight for the millionth time, then it's strictly tights for me.

There were some pretty spectacular deaths in Gladiator. I was entertained.

It was actually a really good series once the ball started rolling.

I'll watch the prequel, it'll be interesting to see where they go with it.

I quite dug Spartacus, and like everyone else I wish Andy Whitfield a speedy recovery. That said, the new season is supposed to be a prequel to the original, which -- I'd guess -- is great news for anyone that was killed in the first season.

Which, at last count, was... what, everyone but Spartacus, Crixus and The Doctore?

Amen Brother Vorenius. I HATED the Physics Defying, 300-inspired , buckets of blood bullshiat in Sparticus I continued watching the show after the premiere only because the writing was otherwise pretty good, and actors who played Sparticus, Batiatus, and Doctore, were very good and Lucy Lawless not only created a compelling character but looked very good stark naked getting fingerbanged by a slave girl

I watched the first couple episodes of Spartacus, and thought it a crappy imitation of 300 and took the series pass off my DVR. But then folks on Fark were raving about it, so I gave it a second chance and watched all the other episodes I missed and it was really good.

Plus as a nice bonus, frequent Xena boobies!

/Wish they were 1990s Xena boobies, though.

mmmmmmm.

For the record, I'm the same kind of guy that loves watching slowmo kills in Fallout 3/NV. Today was no exception; I shot a Lakelurk, took it's head off, and watch it fall back into the water and slowly sink/tumble to the lake floor...

I had high hopes for this.

I have no brpblem with mindless over the top violence and bloodshed, but this just sucked.

Spartacus had one of the most satisfying season finales of any series I've ever been into.

Yes there is tons of gratuitous violence and nudity, but it's not what kept me coming back. I would have been just as into it without the blood and nudity, it was the story that drove the series.

I agree. Tales of revenge that is justified and righteous are usually awesome.
