Awesome headline, great job!

Every channel abandons their original intent. I'm surprised they have any cartoons at all.

History - Well at least they still have WWII shows, that's SOME of history.
Discovery - Well, I hope you like sharks.
MTV - Nothing to do with music whatsoever.
TLC - Trading spaces isn't learning! IT TEACHES NOTHING!
Comedy Central - No longer funny.
BET - White people all up in that channel.

even CNN/FOX/MSNBC have talk shows now. That's not news, that's filler material. Hell even headline news (I think) has that Nancy Grace show.

Yeah, FHC really went downhill. FHC2 is on it's way out as well and Comcast doesn't carry FHC Classic in my area yet.

pawn stars isn't that bad. The guys are likeable and the stuff is interesting. Even their "made for tv" playing it up comes across more like they're having fun than the typical reality show

Cartoon Network's Adult Swim lineup is lame, with the exception of Children's Hospital ,Bleach and GITS .

I like Children's Hospital. Tim and Eric... not so much. That being said I couldn't tell you when CH is on since I only watch King of the Hill on Adult Swim.

2010-12-30 01:49:10 PM
Honestly, "Unnatural History" would have been a decent show for kids. It was kind of a weekly Indiana Jones with a semi-super human kid running the show. I watched it with my kids a couple times, and didn't make me want to retch. I agree with it not being a cartoon, but at least it was a scripted show made for kids with decent production values.

All their other live action crap, like "Let's Blow shiat Up" or whatever it's called, need to die. But this one actually wasn't bad. Probably expensive to produce, though, thus the cancellation.

Old News is old, subby. The axe came down on Unnatual History way back in November.

Speakibg of live-action CN shows...Tower Prep just aired an awesome season finale. I'm hoping that it gets renewed so I find out what happens next.

This! Although Destroy Build Destroy gets good ratings and a thumbs up from my nephews. All said Unnatural History was a good first try and Tower Prep is a fun in the Super Hero high school kind of way. I hope it comes back for a second season.

Tim and Eric are the ugly holiday sweater of comedy.

2010-12-30 01:56:52 PM
Cancel it? Hell, they tried to replace it with a damn near clone - Tower Prep. I felt like I was watching the same damn show, except that everyone had superpowers.

They've had some really shiatty shows for a long time, but god damn does the lineup suck now. They blew their wad over 10 years ago and have nothing left. Bring back some classic toons (for us oldies, anyway), the classic CN originals that have been banished to Boomerang, Toonami (stay away from the gotta-catch-em-all crap...gimme Robotech, Tenchi, and yes, even DBZ)., and start sifting out all of the garbage on Adult Swim.

As far as Adult Swim goes, death to Tim and Eric. I won't be sorry if Children's Hospital disappears, but I never want to see Tim and Eric again. On top of that, killing the Saturday-only anime would be nice. Space it out and put some non-anime on Saturday too. GITS is cool, wouldn't mind being able to catch all of Blood+, Cowboy Bebop is a fave, yadda yadda. Keep Venture Bros., Metalocalypse, Squidbillies, maybe stick to one episode of Family guy and King of the Hill per night (I like KOTH, tolerate Family Guy when there's nothing else on). There's too many double-shots in general.

There's history international, and the military channel, which talks a whole lot about World War 2.

2010-12-30 02:05:00 PM
Also, on their live-action lineup...Dude,What Would Happen? sucks. From start to finish, it feels like I'm watching80s/90s Nerf and Nickolodeon product commercials. Destroy Build Destroy's not far off. And Hole in the Wall? They seriously based an entire gameshow around a small section of a Japanese game/variety show? If you're going to rip it off, do the whole damned thing. The Japanese shows, even if you don't know who the revolving celebrity contestants are or don't care about Japan at all, are fun. I know our celebs would sue or require all kinds of legal crap.

What we're seeing on CN is what happened to Saturday morning cartoons. Saved By The Bell slipped in, then a couple sports shows, and then a whole bunch of stupid teen dramas. The last time I checked the Saturday morning fare, you have to flip to something like The CW to catch toons, and it's almost always a bunch of card/gotta-catch-em-all anime (edited to hell for our "think of the children" sensibilities) with a side of the new TMNT.

i adore tim and eric. i've met them both, along with james quall and david liebe hart. my only regret is that i didn't get to meet my pep pep, richard dunn before he died.

i don't get how you cannot find tim and eric hilarious. my husband hates when i watch it because i laugh uncontrollably. he hates them too...

This. I'd also be pretty happy if Adult Swim got rid of all the anime and just went with comedy. That's what I want to see! Funny cartoons that are funnier when smoking up! That's what got me to love AS in the first place.

I don't think I ever even heard of this show. From the description in the article, it sounds like a retread of Matt & Trey's failed pre-South Park series "Time Warped".

Shut your slut mouth about Childrens Hospital, which is one of the funniest (not one of the best, but one of the funniest) shows on the network right now, and is the greatest thing most of its cast has done in years.

Tim & Eric were fresh and interesting four years ago, but the more they go back to their usual well of dadaist anti-humor, the more tired it becomes. Come up with something new and different, or go away.

The Venture Bros. is one of the best shows of the past decade, animated or live-action, and I'm glad the network is continuing to cultivate it.

The distinction between Cartoon Network and Adult Swim is entirely semantic as long as they share a channel on the cable lineup. I don't care what the org chart on the production side of things looks like.

Wife and I both watched and really enjoyed Unnatural History -- nice, well written "young adult" show. I'm also enjoying Tower Prep when I can see it

Tim & Eric . . . so bad that I abandoned Adult Swim altogether just to avoid seeing ads for Tim & Eric. No level of guest-star quality can reverse that awfulness, or even temper it. You can see what they're trying to do, but, no, they're deeply terrible. It's embarrassing.

I really missed Adult Swim, but it would have been like dating a beautiful girl who had an Alien chestburster with constant sulphurous diarrhea hanging out of her. That's a dealbreaker.

I haven't watched Cartoon Network since this came on the air. The recycled shows such as Wonder Years, MIB: The Series, Batman Beyond G1 Transformers, GI Joe, and Deltora Quest are good but the originals such as Family Game Night, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, GI Joe Renegades and Transformers Prime make this an awesome network.

/My Little Pony has a lot of in jokes in it
