Sometimes evil actually has a face you can see. I don't like being paraded past it for a look even when I understand the point of the lesson.

I wonder if he appreciates the irony of being used as a Buchenwald?

I will go back in time 10 years and one day, and kill him so he can't kill Hitler.

No need to severely disrupt the space-time continuum.

Everybody (aside from essential services) should be at home with their families between Winter Solstice and New Year's Day. Too bad they weren't (even though the perpetrator likely would've waited for another day).

Fine by me, so long as essential services is construed to include pizza delivery and asian escorts.

So what would you consider essential services? Obviously police, fire, and EMTs... but what about grocery stores, mail and package delivery delivery, and bartenders?

I was working at a dotcom at the time. When our layoffs inevitably happened a few months later, they hired an off-duty cop to prowl the halls that day in case there might be trouble. Creepy.

I also stopped going to church because they were of utterly no help after a personal tragedy. Clergy means well, but they first question out of everyone's mouth is "What do you think you did wrong?"

I recently asked my pastor why bad things happen to good people. Her answer was the best I've ever received.

She said, "We don't know."

Summed it up nicely for me. YMMV.

A friend of mine was killed by this crazy a-hole. Jen Bragg, she was a beautiful sweet smart programmer who worked on some of my projects. She had just had a baby, and it was her first day back at work from maternity leave. She had the misfortune of sitting at a desk in HR instead of back with the other coder types. Got shot in the back, never knew what was coming. Her life was taken away far too soon. Mucko deserves to sit in a hole for the rest of his life. Nothing too harsh for this bastard. It was all over him having his wages garnished. Just another sociopathic ahole.

// we interviewed him for a position at our company. didnt hire him fortunately. Still it was friends of ours that he killed.

I find it ironic that an insane person (criminally insane sociopath) was researching how to fake insanity (delusional psychosis). I'm glad he was found guilty. I'm surprised he didn't recieve the death penalty. I don't know where he is being held, but security for the criminally insane used to be way beyond what an ordinary prison had. Unless that has changed, I hope he isn't in an ordinary prison.

You may think it is funny, but it is a major pain in the rear end to have to keep going back in time to stop idiots from killing Hitler. "Oooo-ooo! I'm gonna go back and kill Hitler and World War II will have NEVER happened!"

Sorry. Wrong-o you dumbass. World War II still happens, but this time it's a thermonuclear war that wipes out most of humanity, and leaves the world a smoldering, pestilent ruin. AND IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!

Let me tell you, the actor who plays Adolf Hitler is-was one heck of a good guy, and though he feels-felt guilty as hell for killing all those people, he knows that were they to live, the entire world will be Farked. Yep, you guessed it, there is a whole division of Jewish people in Germany, Poland and elsewhere, who will be instrumental in developing thermonuclear weapons. Men, women, children.

SO CUT IT OUT!

Eh.

Besides, I paid good money for my Hitler hunting license, and I'm damned well going to use it. I still have space to the left of my mantel and a plaque for his head and hands.

I remember reading or watching a show about this guy. He was really farked up but not crazy. He actually researched a specific mental illness and thought no one would ever see beyond his "great" idea. Except for the fact he left books, magazines and his internet searches behind that detailed exactly the mental illness he was trying to fake (IIRC the mental illness was actually one specifically about killing Hitler).

2010-12-26 07:08:23 PM
The answer to "If you had the chance, would you kill Hitler?" is "No, you would not."

There have been, are now, and will always be plenty of genocidal psycopaths available for you to kill. Are you killing them now? No, you are not. And neither would you kill hitler.

Killing hitler is an impotent armchair hero fantasy.

You really think you'd like to kill hitler? Go to your nearest recruiting office and join up.

We officially don't assassinate foreign leaders, but you never know...

Person: He was really farked up but not crazy. He actually researched a specific mental illness and thought no one would ever see beyond his "great" idea.

You gotta admit, that's pretty crazy. The thing is, there are many different kinds of crazy. This guy was clearly crazy by any sane standard. He tried to pretend he was a different kind of crazy. Whether or not he was the kind of crazy that reduces his culpability is another question, but he's obviously too dangerous to be set free, regardless.

You don't know me. Besides, odds are good that most future genocidal dictators do get killed before they get that far. Take your pick of socially aggressive assholes who get murdered, and imagine they got into politics.

You know what it takes to succeed in politics? Aggression, gall, and a desire to succeed in politics. It takes money, too, but those same traits will get you money. It's also a good recipe for a real asshole.

You really think you'd like to kill hitler? Go to your nearest recruiting office and join up.

I know what you mean, but . . . in our military, as with most militaries, you don't get to pick your targets. You're far more likely to wind up with a desk job, but even special forces units don't get to decide to go after someone just because they think he's evil.

Yeah. There's a lot of different kinds of crazy. Just he obviously had control of his actions and carefully planned his murder spree in order to get revenge for garnishing his wages. It's different from say an undiagnosed schizophrenic who has a delusion that causes them to harm another person. They obviously need help and are unlikely to do something like that again so long as they're medicated and receive help. This guy on the other hand is crazy but in control of his actions and is definitely a danger to others. So like you said, regardless of crazy or not he should be locked up for the rest of his life.

I wouldn't admit to it if I were knocking them off; I'm just saying don't assume no Farker's out there farking them over. Idi Amin got away, but a lot of those guys bite it hard.

Thanks, too for sharing it with us 'liters. BTW--Will you be played by Tom Cruise in the movie?

Someone else would die. Although, to be honest, Cruise is at his best when he's playing a creep. Ever notice that? He's lousy as a romantic lead or hero, but eerily great at villains and lunatics.

Yes, I'm saying I'm a creep. However, there will not be a movie.
