Hmmmmm. interesting coincidence? I think not. Next to the main page was an ad for the Waldorf Astoria with a picture of two Roman soldiers fighting.

You know who else persecuted Xians?

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the MAAAIIIIINNNNNN EVENT

In the blue corner, hailing from the safety of the midwest, weightless as they ascend in the rapture:
RELIGION AND FREEDOM

Fighting in the red trunks, hailing from heathen New York City, weighed down by the gays and scientists through all their sins:
ATHEISM AND TOTALITARIANISM

I want a good clean fight, no hitting below the belts, no strawman arguments, no jokes about 1990. Touch gloves and come out swinging.

This will fit in perfectly with my gay agenda. I think I'll start putting pink tutu's on the male dinosaurs in the creationism museum next.

Today and tomorrow are the two days out of the year that I say "Merry Christmas" to everyone I see. Because it is actually that holiday. for the rest of December, I say Happy Holidays, because there are a whole host of holidays that happen this month.

This isn't that hard.

2010-12-24 11:49:02 AM
I wish these right wing nutcases wouldn't use the term "Judeo-Christian" to describe this country. It is Christian through and through. They probably want some gravitas by linking to an older religion, but the Judeo part just isn't all that influential in the grand scheme of things.

Also, there is no war on Christmas. Get over it, you morons.

FTFA "On one side, we have religion and freedom. On the other side, we have atheism and totalitarianism," O'Leary writes."

That's just adorable. Religion and Freedom. The only way you can have freedom is if you practice our religion (is how I read it)!

/dear sir. please purchase a dictionary. I think you are confused re: the meaning of "freedom"

Yes, asking the Jesus freaks to respect the beliefs of others is a "War on Christianity".

If I wanted to live in a theocracy, I'd move to Iran. (Stolen from a bumper sticker.)

This guy must hate those people that knew nothing about the Constitution when they ratified the Treaty of Tripoli. One of the liberal insertions included that the US was not founded, in any way, as a Christian nation. Those crazy, out of touch, liberal founders!

I'm enlisting personnel for my "War on the War On metaphor" campaign. Who's with me?

We will fight paradoxically. We will fight like similes. We will fight them in the sentences, paragraphs, and chapters...

They are mutually exclusive of each other. There is no true freedom in religion because it's always been about control and greed (not spirituality) however, there has always been true freedom without religion.

Let the bashing start in 3, 2, ......

We could end this war right now by destroying the letter R. Then we'd have the Wa on Chistmas, the Wa and Dugs, and the Wa on Teoism.

I know. It's shameful how there is absolutely no mention whatsoever in the mainstream MSM media of Christmas today.

I have the day off today for some reason and I'm watching the noon local news and the entire first segment hasn't mentioned anything about the holiday or it's impact.

I bet if it was "Yay! Darwin & Santa Burned a Church Day" they'd have that in the A-block with a live shot!

I have a long-term solution to this problem. Flood the water supply with contraceptives, and make everyone who wants to procreate apply for antidotes. Those who still believe that a fairy tale should rule our lives are automatically denied (and encompasses many religions).

To be fair, there are several other reasons to be denied, too.

The Christians stole the pagan's holiday.

There was no way Christ, even if real, was born in December--The Romans would NOT make "The whole world" travel "to be enrolled" in farking winter.

Every bit of Christmas symbolism apart from the creche is Pagan solstice symbolism. The evergreen tree and branches, circular wreaths, lights. All symbolize the continuation of life through the dead of winter. All have NOTHING to do with baby Jesus.

How about you guys celebrate on Jesus' farking birthday, and I'll keep my holiday, thank you.

How about the guy who wrote the declaration of independence?

but.. but..but...STATE RELIGION!

TFA: "Secular extremists have long pushed for so-called hate crimes laws (which are actually ' thought crimes' laws) to provide additional criminal penalties for crimes committed against homosexuals and transgendered people," O'Leary writes.

"However, many refer to such a national hate/thought crimes bill as the 'Pedophile Protection Act' because in the process of extending special federal protection to individuals on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity, the majority in the U.S. House has refused to exclude any of the 547 forms of sexual deviancy or 'paraphilias' listed by the American Psychiatric Association, including pedophilia," O'Leary writes.

it's fascinating how much the right objects to the concept that violent crimes motivated by a perpetrator's hatred for any form of sexual "deviancy" should carry enhanced punishments for that motivation. That they would desperately try identity some group, any group, that might be considered super-deviant enough, that the law should not penalize the hate motivation of a violent attack, would be funny if it didn't demonstrate that they empathize on some level with the feelings of those who want to commit violence out of hate.

Amongst O'Leary's other complaints: the Capitol Visitors Center has no references to God and instead serves as a "shrine to the power of government, man, and secular causes."

Ever notice that the people who confuse this: www.tricityvineyard.org with this: upload.wikimedia.org do so in both directions?

They want this guy: profile.ak.fbcdn.net represented in these: www.modelminority.com

But they also see this book: www.trackingyourroots.com as www.modelminority.com, and seem determined to make sure this place: upload.wikimedia.org spends as much time as possible talking about this guy: profile.ak.fbcdn.net.

They get really upset if any guys other than this guy: profile.ak.fbcdn.net are brought up like : smileys.emoticonsonly.com, www.allworldreligion.com, and images.quizfarm.com

Though when they want to appear all inclusive, they acknowledge these guys: images.quizfarm.com. Not so much because this guy: profile.ak.fbcdn.netwas one of these: images.quizfarm.com, but more because they love this more the-dream.co.uk

oh and they are really afraid of these guys: www.myemoticons.com and just dont understand that there are people who dont have a guy 4.bp.blogspot.com and are perfectly happy about it.

"In cities and towns across America, public nativity scenes are treated like pornography every Christmastime, and the phrase 'Merry Christmas' has become a veritable slur,"

I gotta love the irony of this sentence. Nativity scenes are treated the way HE would treat porn. Most of us are just fine with porn and are more offended by overt violations of the separation between church and state.

Separating Judaism from Christianity would make it harder for them to use the Old Testament as a basis for their theology. Except for three throwaway lines in Paul's Letters, there is not a single mention of homosexuality in the New Testament but a lot of talk of forgiveness and tolerance.

Not that they aren't being hypocritical in their use of the Old Testament, mind you.

She comes in colors everywhere: Every bit of Christmas symbolism apart from the creche is Pagan solstice symbolism.

Well, Mithras was born in a stable cave, placed in a manger, attended by shepherds and three wise men, who were led to the place by a star... so essentially, the whole crib thing was also lifted - and the date too. December 25th is Mithrasmas!

Hey mods, I'm sorry about the pic with the "F" word in it. I have seen dozens of instances where pics had cursing in it and were allowed to stand, so I thought it might have been an unwritten exception or something.

At any rate, my bad. It's not my intention to douche up the place.
