Boobiesers. Hahahahaha. Anyway I think this is just a little scary.
2001-10-15 10:13:50 PM
Hey, there's Mike's delay script in action right there...
2001-10-15 10:24:36 PM
Now they've pissed off the Canadians too?
They've really done it now!

(Someone send me some canadian bacon... arrhhh...Canadian bacon...)
2001-10-15 10:25:32 PM
btw, the mnf is one of the most boring things i've ever seen... imho.
2001-10-15 10:27:04 PM
ack, I'd rather this country not get mixed up in the whole anthrax affair, but I guess I've not much choice!
2001-10-15 10:28:25 PM
The Globe and Mail says that it was not Anthrax... Just some kind of white powder that caused a rash. (Not too smart to be sending white rash-causing powder to the government right now.

what bastard decided to take my inciteful posts off???
2001-10-15 10:39:16 PM
This was on CBC radio all afternoon.
Terrorists know better anyways than to attack countries with *huge* armies like ours. Either that, or because half their relatives live in the major centers (Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal). ;)
2001-10-15 10:40:36 PM
Ok Canadians, you'd better have your government ready all your forces just in case! That means the ENTIRE armored Ford Pinto battalion and both the crab boats!Oh,and the Canadian Salvation Army(beating people to pieces for Jesus,eh)?Be prepared!
2001-10-15 10:41:29 PM
I forget to include the armed hang gliders...
2001-10-15 10:44:05 PM
don't forget the Royal Canadian Mounted Kilted Yaksmen...
2001-10-15 10:45:40 PM
Hey man, we have had ten years of tremendous budget cuts to our military, which was *meek* before the cuts. However, the men and women of the Canadian forces are as brave and willing as anyone's forces.
2001-10-15 10:48:07 PM
It might be a copycat or a hoax. I don't think Canada has pissed off anyone in the past 100 years. Well, except for those curling tournaments.
2001-10-15 10:48:50 PM
Never said they weren't brave and willing.I just hope they're properly equipped for whatever situation may arise. And pots, pans, sticks, and those giant summer sausage do not count!
2001-10-15 10:52:08 PM
O.k. .....all you bastards out there can joke all you want about our tiny little army, but I've got news for you: When was the last time one of your heads of state actually got down with the people, and choked the living shiat out of them?
A couple of years ago, our Prime Minister decided to put the clamp on the wind-pipe of some ass-hole protester. Made me proud. We don't need weapons up here, bare hands is enough. Hell, we're so tough our airborne jumps out of planes w/out parachutes!!!
2001-10-15 10:53:30 PM
Does Canada have that cruel and unusual punishment clause in its constitution? Because if not, I'm all for asking our friends to the north to take care of the prosecution phase of our war on terrorism.

Also, if they need any ideas, I have once scenario which involves ten roofing nails and a hammer.

(I'm just kidding. I know the Canadians use our constitution)
2001-10-15 10:54:04 PM
LOL Rapslapper
2001-10-15 10:54:55 PM
1. Damn Canadians, always trying to be like us.
2. He contracted anthrax, but it'll only kill him about 75% due to the exchange rate conversion

This is truly unfortunate. I hope no one actually gets infected. Perhaps this will spurn the Candians to join our struggle and alert the rest of the free world that this isn't just a U.S. vs terroristm thing, this is a Free World vs terrorism thing.
2001-10-15 10:55:32 PM
Ratslapper.......great post. We don't need any special forces, we could just send in Jean "Poutine" Chretien.

As for Canada being prepared, we probably aren't, but that is why we look to the States as our brother. Big Bro will beat up the bully.
2001-10-15 10:57:08 PM
I hope this Anthrax is for real.. no.. im not a Taliban member.. but it will force the world to really open their eyes and see thatr terrorism is a threat to all.
2001-10-15 11:00:06 PM
I would make jokes about Canada's tiny defence capability Ratslapper, but my own homeland is proudly defended by half a dozen Boy Scouts armed with pocket-knives, two old grannies in a rowboat and a raving lunatic on a brookstick who believes she can outfly an F16.

Never mind, there is sooooo much else about Canada to laugh about. Or even laugh aboot.
2001-10-15 11:02:27 PM
Ok,enough of the jokes about Canada's military strength(from me at least). They're all in good fun.
2001-10-15 11:04:03 PM
And I am aware of Canada's military contributions in WWI and WWII.

But Mexico on the other hand...
2001-10-15 11:04:49 PM
Mexico had better have its 3 burros and the rusty Buick ready in case they're needed! And the rubber dinghy!
2001-10-15 11:05:20 PM
I'd like to be able to better my last post and entertain you all, but I'm just too goddamned drunk.....
2001-10-15 11:05:53 PM

Rock: I wish to echo yopur sentiment. I think that America feels like Canada is our brethren to the north. We may be pissed off about all these attacks, but now they're attacking Canada? Canada! The bastards must pay.
2001-10-15 11:07:54 PM

Now.. it's not an attack on America in which America must find allies to help. It is an attack on the world, in which America was a victim. It's time for the world to realize the need for a new lake..

Please don't bomb the Baldwins.
2001-10-15 11:14:12 PM
Hanky, thanks for the kind words. Although we Canadians have great pride in being "different" than Americans, we honestly are the same. Attacks on the U.S., in my opinion is an attack on Canada. I even looked into joining the American military, but you need a green card to join. Not sure how long that takes to be eligible
2001-10-15 11:18:34 PM
You could always join the French Foreign Legion Rockclassic.

Of course, then you would have to immediately surrender.
2001-10-15 11:24:13 PM
Although I was born in Canada and am Canadian my friends will tell you I mind as well be Mr.America himself. Anyhow it's crazy how all this antrhax stuff is going on. I mean people are finding comic books with dirt on them and thinking it's anthrax.

Jean Chretien needs something like this to wake his ass up cause he's more concerned about fund raising than putting more money into Canada's army or anything else.

My solution...Let George Bush into Ottawa and the US army come on vacation and then make a press release saying they've taken over the country. I assure you there are alot of Canadians who would like this, and it would change Canada for the better in alot of ways. That's if Americans want Canada to become the 51st state that is.
2001-10-15 11:25:40 PM
By the way.
Canada has already sent in 2000 people into the area, on various navy ships, to support the US. Sure, it's mostly a gesture of solidarity and they'll mostly be used for communications and non-combat roles - but they are there WITH you.

Only Britain has committed more people to this "war" (I rather not use that word, but whatever) - excluding Americans, of course.
2001-10-15 11:25:46 PM
Mr Happy:
Thank goodness I am not on your list!I live for another day!
2001-10-15 11:28:05 PM
Mikey_B:Wouldn't bother me if Canada was the 51st state.Although wouldn't each province becomes a seperate state potentially?
2001-10-15 11:28:12 PM
Here are Canada's contribution to the war on terrorism.

On the military front, Canada has promised four frigates, a destroyer and a supply ship to help U.S. naval forces already operating in the Middle East.

Two long-range Aurora patrol aircraft, three C-130 Hercules transports and one military airbus are also being sent, although Eggleton could not say Monday exactly when the planes will arrive or where they will be based.

Some of the JTF-2 special forces unit will also be sent to join U.S. and British commandos already in place, but details of those operations are secret.

Overall, about 2,000 Canadians will be involved in the military effort.
2001-10-15 11:31:37 PM
Kthulhu:Well yes. But you know the saying "Canada is the 51st state". I was thinking of that.
2001-10-15 11:33:07 PM

I should think that if Canada were to become integrated into the Union (more than it arguably already is), that each existing province would indeed become a separate state.

I personally was hoping that the Quebecois secession vote (Vive la Quebec libre!) that came very close to passing a few years ago would succeed. I figured that would have set Canada down the road to homologation.
2001-10-15 11:34:24 PM
Wow, was that ever wrong.
2001-10-15 11:35:53 PM
I want to add something from my last post. YES Canada is helping and has send military aid.

Personally I think during the first weeks after the attacks the Canadian PUBLIC did more than the Canadian government EVER did. I myself gave to the red cross and have heard of people gathering thousands of dollars.

Two girls in the city I'm from started a fund raising campaign and gathered $60,000 to send to NYC. The WHITE HOUSE even called them when they heard what they were doing! I am not joking. These girls made red white and blue ribbons themselves to give out when people donated. Even if the Canadian government doesn't seem like it's doing much right now the Canadian public have been doing lots that's for sure.

Anyhow that's my two cents. I can get my grandmother on the forum and she could write a novel the way she feels about this all!

Kthulhu Mr Happy:
Thank goodness I am not on your list!I live for another day!

Did you read the other posts in that forum?

Bah. Humbug.

Another thread farked by (mostly) serious discussion.

Give me HUMOUR you farkers.
2001-10-15 11:53:43 PM
Mr Happy:yes,I read those posts,I think you showed them pretty much.Lists with names scare me though ;)
2001-10-15 11:54:05 PM
Mikey B is an idiot...
2001-10-15 11:54:53 PM
Canadians are Americans, too.
(And more of them know how to shoot big bore rifles.)

As for Mexicans, who do you think will do well in the heat and dust of Afghanistan?

"We must indeed all hang together, or most assuredly we will all hang separately."

2001-10-15 11:55:35 PM
We could send Quebec and Celine Dion over there. They would annoy and piss them off tremendously. Bill Shatner too.
Also thanks again for sneaking our guys out of Iran in 1979.
Hey John Boudreaux you old farker.
