Looked for "Dark Star", left ....well....sort of satisfied upon seeing it.

/it was a silly movie.

Pfft, my buddies and I did this to Blaine.

Clicked on the link to make sure it included at least two episodes from the original series. The whole thing is Kirk Trek.

Star Trek spent a great deal of time with the rise of the machines.

Gordon Bennett: Who needs words when I have my trusty Windows ME install disc?

No no, you've got it backwards. WindowsME is a computer AI built to make HUMANS self destruct. Not the other way around.

Headline is more accurate than the article title

No Star Trek? Seriously? There's at least three episodes where Kirk convinces a computer to kill itself.

Came for Fallout 3, left satisfied.

I was extremely surprised that The Runaways was represented here. Good stuff!

Came for The Prisoner, and got Pinky & The Brain, too.

/such a deal!

Spock: Congratulations on a dazzling display of logic.
Capt. Kirk: Didn't think I had it in me, did you?
Spock: No.

Agreed, list is flawed.

It was a great WTF movie, but one that has to be experienced. Trying to describe Darkstar to someone does not do it justice.

I love the bit with all the simulations in War Games. I remember thinking it was awesome at the time (and some good music). The sparks are, of course, hilarious bullshiat.

Came for "Paradox absorbing crumple zones" -- very satisfied

Wow -Dark Star

I haven't seen that turd in a long time. I might have to watch it at work today if I can stream it through Netflix to my phone.

Is it time to feed the Alien yet?

Nah, it always does that. We blame shoddy union contractors.

Didn't watch the very first clip on that page? A clip of practically every single instance where Kirk convinces a computer to kill it self.

I miss Clone High. MTV is second only to FOX in their ability to cancel good TV shows.

Came for the Prisoner, got it, along with Futurama, HHG2TG, AND a Pinky and the Brain parody of the Prisoner episode. Leaving very satisfied.

/I really need to get my hands on that Pinky and the Brain episode

The very first video is a montage of Kirk vs. Computer shenanigans. How the hell did you miss it?

He missed it because he always lies and told us he is lying. He is flawed.

They forgot Mork and Mindy.

So basically nearly every episode of Star Trek TOS.

Venture Bros. is amazing. That is all.

If there were a movie of The Restaurant at the End of the Universe, then you could include a scene where a robot talks another robot into killing itself.

No, they've got Mudd's Planet of robot women.

Seriously, I can think of at least 3 more besides that one.

"Convince it to self-destruct"...that's an euphemism for organizing the Windows directory, right?

2010-12-23 11:05:58 PM
I think the best is Spock's against Mudd's robots

Spock: [pointing to Alice #27] I love you. [looking to Alice #210] However, I hate you.

Alice #210: But I am identical in every way with Alice 27.

Spock: Yes, of course. That is exactly why I hate you.

Simple and quick. Doesn't have to go on and on for an hour like that bloviator Kirk.
