No, he does it by looking at that giant ball of fire in the sky we call the "Sun". The thing DarnoKonrad and HansensDisease pretend plays no part whatsoever in global temperature. It's like finding that you car isn't running right and instead of looking at the engine, transmission, or drive-train they decide that the problem has to be in the left rear tail light. Then come up with all sorts of theories to fit their preconceived notion.

The reason he is predicting cold obviously has to to with the suns recent relative inactivity/slugishness over the last decade.

It will be interesting to see how fast or slow the next sunspot cycle is and if the trend toward less sunspots, and thus a cooler sun, continues.

Dear lord is that article hard to read. It hurts the head just to read the drivel that builds up to the actual article. Dare I read what he actually has say or will be head explode?

On that note.. It seemed like the last Global Warming thread was dieing out. Good thing we have another one to take its place.

Jiminy X-mas, again with this tired old worn out garbage that was just thrashed out with over 600 comments just a day ago? I'm glad I don't pay for this crap.

It's one guy. He does not represent anything other than one guy. Now proceed with 600 comments of needless refutation of Sum Dum Guy.

dead_dangler: You know who's been strangely silent recently? Al Gore.

Gore disappears any time the weather is colder than average, which---by the law of averages---is 50% of the time.

He also has glommed $300 million+ out of this scam, so if he lives 40 more years, that works out to $7.5 million/year plus interest.

That much money will buy a lot of "physical therapists," masseuses, or whatever he calls them.

HansensDisease: Is this the thread with the anecdotal evidence and the profound misunderstanding of science?

No, it's the thread where warmers will issue appeals to authority and ignore IPCC corruption and misinformation while calling people deniers for examining and revealing both scientific fraud and conflicts of interest in the peer review process. The deniers will link recent peer reviewed refutation of the climatologist statistical methods for declaring unprecendented warming, but the warmers will not only ignore the link, they'll continue to cling to the conclusions of said faulty statistics. The warmers will mock the study and ask why it doesn't prove CO2 causes no warming (which is a strawman, since everyone, including so called deniers, knows that CO2 concentration increases lead to increased forcing ).

Pretty sure this is that thread

Well, we are due for a mini ice age in historical terms. Maybe it will counteract the other crap that's going on. Or at least freeze the crap

2010-12-22 03:58:19 PM
This is all absolutely true. I saw on PBS a real scientist, unlike me, show dot matrix printed graphs of co2 from the ice deep from Antiarctica where the warming accelerated into cooling cycles over zillions of years, but we accomplished it much sooner. So by warming the planet up, we are forcing an ice age! Luckily, chemtrails are helping slow it a bit, but I'm not sure what the affects on the populations will be yet.

Doesn't really have anything to do with global warming except to say that the sun plays a much larger role in climate change than anything else, which is pretty much a given.

2010-12-22 03:59:55 PM
It will get colder because I bought the land for my farm up in New Hampshire. I was counting on global warming for my cozy little hobby farm. Instead it will become Ice Station Hoth.

Nightgown, its warm enough, yet allows the nethers some cooling, if needed.

I'm certainly not saying you're wrong, but I didn't see anything in that article that would leave me to that conclusion. That being said, I don't know anything about the guy. Do you have another article on him that would help aid our fellow Farkers?

Global warming or not (and yes, I recognise the difference between climate and weather), this is the coldest start to a winter in my lifetime (and I'm farking old).

In fact, we've had the coldest November for over 100 years and it looks like being the coldest December on record.
