Like, duh. Teen pregnancy is sooo 2007.

2010-12-21 09:16:25 PM
I'm fairly sure it's due to Bristol Palin's weight gain.

2010-12-21 11:53:51 PM
So most people are again being born as infants?

Bullshiat. The show glorifies teen pregnancy with its very existence. If you want to cause the teen birthrate to fall do this:

1: Require that any child born to an under-18 mother be turned over to the state. No exceptions. At age 18, the mother may apply to adopt (and compete with all other applicants).

See? All sorted.

dahmers love zombie: Bullshiat.

I'm not so sure. I work at a high school that draws at-risk kids. I have over 30 pregnant/mothers on my roster of 218 students. The girls who aren't already pregnant or moms talk quite a bit about how this show has made them much more cautious. The ones who are pregnant or moms wished they had seen it before they got pregnant. None of them want to deal with the trainwreck lives this show displays. Anecdotal evidence, to be sure, but it's clearly having an influence.

/The show is tragic, yet oh so funny.

Present it as fiction and people will treat it like fact. Present it as fact and people will treat it like fiction.

What percentage of teenagers do you think are purposely getting pregnant? I assumed that the majority were "accidental" pregnancies where the mother chose to keep it for whatever reason.

Does this mean they are less likely to have sex or just more careful with prophylactics?

Because I'm not so sure I'm in favor of the former.

There is something quite odd looking about that redhead in the middle, almost personifies red headed step child...

The fine piece of meat on the left however still looks quite nice... I'd beat that red headed... I mean fist of a thousand gods.

/Say what you want about her redneck mom I think Bristol is quite a hittable young lady

Not sure why we don't make reversible sterilization mandatory at age 12. Let them reverse it when they hit 18.

Aren't they supposed to induce labor after like 9.5 months?

I'd say it was because of Obama. Free abortions for everyone!

Ever considered giving extra credit for students who undergo sterelization?

Britney Spear's Speculum: So much fail in one photo

/Bristol is fat

It's not so much that she's fat (which she really isn't), it's more like that she looks like a bloody mall rat slut.

I'm wondering - could The CSM have put just one more link to "Bristol Palin's dance" in that article? Just one more to make it an even 4? So sick of those people. That family is like a roach infestation: they're everywhere.

I've actually watched the show and no it does not put a happy face on teen pregnancy. Any young lady with a working brain will load her purse with condoms or go on the pill after watching a season of that and the "Teen Mom" show.
The dumb girls will still do what dumb girls do.

Also, as an adult male in my 30's with no kids, I'm ashamed to admit that I am now totally open to dating one of these tight bodied single mom's. The young dudes are too scared of the kid and are letting some quality tail sit on the shelf.

Single moms don't date. They hold auditions.

If that's true, then great - I guess. But if it's true - then how sad that people need to see a show like this to know that teen pregnancy is something that can and should be avoided.

I would support the state paying girls $20,000 if they manage to stay kid-free until the age of 18. Make it $50,000 if they make it to 25

Christian and Science.... still do not belong in the same phrase or name.

Also... isn't there some tidbit about causation and correlation?

Or is the CSM saying MTV causes miscarriages?
Because that...I can believe.

He did that god-forsaken King Arthur movie and was promptly forgotten. If he can't pick good roles, he'll have to settle for what he's given.

I did a double-take when I first encountered it too, but the CSM is quite highly regarded when it comes to journalism. I believe it was established from a bequest with a requirement to refer to Christian Science in the title and one religious article published daily. Other than that, there's no religious slant.

The Christian Science Monitor is one of the finest newspapers in the country.

Of the few episodes I've seen of the show, and covers of the checkout magazines. The show does a pretty good job about blowing up the reason why most teenage girls try to get pregnant. Which is that they think it will keep the boyfriend around that they love so much.
