Four links about it in the past hour.

Guess I know when the Republican talking points are emailed out now.

Craig341: Guess I know when the Republican talking points are emailed out now.

Wikileaks is bad, except when it gives them an excuse to rehash arguments from a film released three years ago by an idiot. Then, it's good.

Because if there's information we can trust, it's accounts from a Communist dictatorship.

#1. Moore is a douche.

#2. So now conservatives have no problems reading, commenting and forwarding the Wikileaked information? I thought this was treason?

Since when?

Even if this is legit, the US healthcare system still sucks blue whale dick. Nothing Cuba does will change that.

Repeatedly and frequently misrepresenting the truth qualifies you as a douche. Same reason Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity are douches.

Considering there are doctors in Cuba who have to eek out a living as cabbies, yeah the movie was off the mark.

I was about to stop reading after "Great News!" in the site's headline, but totally stopped after the purported Wikileak was quoted as "when the film was shown to a group of Cuban doctors, some became so "disturbed at the blatant misrepresentation of healthcare in Cuba that they left the room"."

Some?
3?
2,532?
The ones that wanted to be interviewed?
Your expected percentage of protesters at any political movie premier?

I tend to put Moore in the "You're not helping, Asswipe" category.

Here's a link (new window) to the cable on the Guardian's website. However I am unable to find a matching document on Wikileaks (tried searching by the creation date and by the CU and PINR tags).

Until I see a copy on the actual Wikileaks site I'm skeptical.

Maybe someone with better search-fu can oblige?

Same here. It doesn't help his commentary is pretty bare of any intellectual content so it ends up being the opposite side's Rush. Just what the world needs.

fusillade762: to the cable on the Guardian's website.

Interesting that the Guardian would take a shot at Moore. Given the Guardian is pretty left leaning, that's left leaning by English standards not American ones. Then again, it is English so they do quite like it when you don't sound like a daft idiot. Which reading their article sounds like why they're going after Moore, for being a daft idiot.

There's the little known "Suck it, libs" exemption to treason laws.

I wouldn't call it a "shot at moore" since it's just the document and not an opinion piece.

Meh, big whoop. Moore is a douche with a political bias he demonstrates through falsehoods in his movies.

YAWN

Call me when they figure out something I didn't already know.

The ones who read the media have no problem using anything anti-Obama, I've noticed in comments. It's like in high school. "Can you believe what a gossip Karen is? She told me that Lianne is sleeping with Tom!-- oh you hadn't heard?"

Given the fact that the de facto Republican stance towards Castro is, "if it pisses him off it's a good idea", should I expect the right wing to embrace Michael Moore as a brace hero?

It's simple: If you support Obama you're a Kool-Aid drinker who calls him The Messiah, and you're part of the problem in this country. If you used to support Obama, but no longer do, you're wishy-washy and part of the problem in this country.

Basically, viewing American politics through a Republican lens is like reading the most fatalistic and boring "Choose Your Own Adventure" ever.

It would be the retarded version of dividing by zero.

So, is the moral that since healthcare in Cuba isn't as good as he depicted it, because socialism, then healthcare in the US shouldn't or can't possibly be good, because capitalism?

I guess that makes sense.

I seriously doubt this is accurate. if it was banned it wasn't because it made the Cuban healthcare system look better than it was. that just doesn't make any sense. why would a govt ban a great piece of propaganda that made them look good?

Hobodeluxe: why would a govt ban a great piece of propaganda that made them look good?

XXXXXXXXXXXX stated that Cuban authorities have banned Michael Moore's documentary, "Sicko," as being subversive. Although the film's intent is to discredit the U.S. healthcare system by highlighting the excellence of the Cuban system, he said the regime knows the film is a myth and does not want to risk a popular backlash by showing to Cubans facilities that are clearly not available to the vast majority of them. When the FSHP showed Sicko to a group of XXXXXXXXXXXX, some became so disturbed at the blatant misrepresentation of healthcare in Cuba that they left the room.
