To be fair, it was a deal endorsed by Obama, therefore, she MUST resist it with every fiber of her being.

Obama and the Democrats really want to take the White House by storm next election? They need to put out bills making NASCAR the national sport, football a national treasure, apple pie our national dessert, and declare puppies and kittens to be excellent wards for depression and loneliness. And beer as our BEST BEVERAGE EVAR! just to watch the reactionaries backpedal...

I swear, the President could pull a kitten from a tree, with his own bare hands, and folks would find reason to call it the WORST DECISION EVAR! With charts with circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one...

Thanks, I'd just gotten that out of my head from Thanksgiving.

They'd probably edit the hell out of the video, then accuse President Obama of using YOUR TAX DOLLARS TO SUPPORT SOCIALIZED FELINES!

Never in the history of math has more revenue increased deficits. Destroy GNP, the economy, ect...but only expenses/intrest can increase a deficit

Well, if you strain enough you can get her point. She's saying that the deficit caused by a tax cut is fundamentally different from a deficit caused by a spending increase. The tax cut still adds to the debt but at least citizens get to keep the money. A spending increase, on the other hand, just vanishes into the ether. Or something like that.

Come on, people, you know that Republicans like to change the meanings of words. This isn't anything new.

President Obama was a con law professor, so you should probably defer to him on questions of constitutionality and the extent of federal and presidential authority. Fair's fair.

The Tea Party Express released a statement against the tax compromise for the very same reason. Of all the reasons to be against it, this has to be the worst. What kind of stimulus to the economy do you think someone dying and giving money away to a child's trust fund is going to bring?

Bachmann says stupid shiat all the time. I can't even be bothered enough to play the vid.

There's got to be something better back there to greenlight. How about that madoff kid suicide? That should get some hits.

I would like to see a show with Michelle Bachman, Sara Palin, and Victoria Jackson where they interview top economists, social and physical scientists, and legal scholars. It would be hilarious.

Technically as long as its being spent inside this country, on things like 'unemployment' its staying in this country. Whats hilarious is how she stated that a "increase" (arguable) of estate tax would effect productivity. In some small individual cases in might, but on the whole its a gamble. Maybe offer an estate tax write-off if you are creating new jobs?

You know, I'm not sure that these guys even believe in the economic concept of "stimulus" to begin with, based on what they have to say about things like stimulus spending during recessions.

People who receive windfall profits earned only by being born into the right family are likely to spend irresponsibly, thus stimulating the economy?

I think you're getting too far ahead here. You're assuming that the baggers actually understand things about an economy. These people haven't even demonstrated that they can spell racial slurs on their signs correctly.

Wouldn't somebody born with a silver spoon, inheriting millions based solely on whose crotch they rappelled out of, be considered one of the elite - and therefore minions of Satan?

Wouldn't an estate tax help to exorcise these demonic influences on our culture?

The money the rich get from the rich people tax cuts will go to supplement their income since none of us serfs can purchase their products.

Most likely they do not. I am been trying to understand how someone can even discuss macroeconomics if they reject the concept of Gross Domestic Product.

Actually, it's confusion caused by Obama's support of the bill. She has been so conditioned to think anything he does is wong, that when he agrees with one of her closely held stances she is simply bewildered as to what to think.

And many lulz were had.

I think it's more a case of them simply not thinking about it, as opposed to actively rejecting it. I suspect that this is also what allows them to do things like speak out against stimulus spending on the one hand, while also (sometimes) using vaguely stimulus-like reasoning when defending tax-cuts (e.g. the rich should be given the money because they will somehow create jobs with it).

So... It's NOT extending a tax cut, it's actually a tax INCREASE.

But, even though its a tax INCREASE, it's also going to increase the deficit because of all the tax decreases that are in there.

My brain hurts.
