Purdue University (new window) financed that plane -- that's why it went off course.

I know several pilots who are convinced that the Japanese captured (new window) her.

No he isn't, Anne Frank nursed British soldiers back to health in the Crimean War. He's obviously thinking of Marie Curie.

No. Marie Curie was the French general who heard voices.

huh I always thought the Tojo's grabbed her and dragged her off to one of their many fine comfort centers. Then when they realized she was someone famous they were too embarrassed to tell anyone.

and I say, "the Tojo's" so as to not say, "The Japanese". As reference to the ruling group. In the same way you'd refer to Stalin's atrocities as being committed by "the Soviets" rather than "The Russians".

Maybe her plane went so fast that she rapidly devolved into a lower form of life, and the turtle is actually her offspring?

I thought the "Dinosaur People" story was actually pretty good - for Star Trek, at least. Scientifically it doesn't hold up - we would have found their artifacts, or remnants thereof - but as a science fiction story, it was one of the better ones.

Threshold, however, was execrable in every way. I didn't even like it at the time, and I was a huge Trek nerd.

Don't get me started. More than half of the TNG shows are unwatchable today. Voyager, on the whole, was better than the Data saves everyone again this week show.

TNG did age badly, specifically the 80s political correctness and the psychobabble and touchy feely bullshiat.

Of course, Voyager wasn't exactly better than TNG.

But DS9? That aged well.

Good thing the TIGHAR group never jumps to conclusions.

They've been beating this Nikumaroro horse for 20 freaking years.

Stay tuned. 20 years from now they'll find her fingernail and use that finding to finance expedition NIKU 14.
