Strong Bad typo-ed "occasionally." Ironic? I feel the need to mock his spelling.

2003-07-07 11:54:09 AM
Yes, that was riddled with mistakes...there was a missing word in the email that he read off, plus, strong bad himself made typos. What is the world coming to?

2003-07-07 11:55:17 AM
Ironman273

I did.

I am always quoting Strong Bad, much to the delight of my lady friends.

fantasic work. hot momma! hot bees!

Weak. Very, very weak. Or at least Strong Bad's performance was. The easter eggs were pretty good, though, and somehow Homestar's "Discount Brick" line cracked me up. And I think that was the most we've seen of Bubs in a while.

In fact, if it was just Strong Bad alone, it would be another Tapeleg.

Oooooooooooo, discount briiiiiiiiiiiiiiick.

OK, I'm a Homestar Runner fan. I admit it.
He has a funny speech impediment, wears a sideways baseball cap, claims to play baseball, and is adorably mentally-deficient, so he reminds me of a friend of mine.

2003-07-07 12:20:08 PM
Hehehehe, faint of butt...

2003-07-07 12:27:11 PM
discount brick... now that's good stuff.

Yeah the something else 10 or 15 seconds later and bubs hot foot is the best part today. I am glad to see Strong Bad is back.

britfolkgod: yes i did notice

Ohhhhh...discount brick...

2003-07-07 12:39:03 PM
Meh. This week's email was a little too "meta" for my tastes.

i'm here by declaring that Homestarrunner.com has past South Park as best stoner cartoons ever, although i have laughed more at Aouth Park then Homestarrunner.ocm but i'm going purely on a laughs per episode.

"Ohhhhh a discount brick"

classic

2003-07-07 12:52:09 PM
Haos what was that, emily?

2003-07-07 12:54:36 PM
Wow? $13 for a brick? That IS cheap.

2003-07-07 01:02:12 PM
Loved it. Brightened up my morning. So many great eggs, hot foot/hot bees, discount brick, discount alligator...

yup, loved it.

2003-07-07 01:14:16 PM
fnny, did anyone notice that during the "15 seconds" egg the paper is still over SB's monitor?

2003-07-07 01:19:44 PM
I like Homestar Runner but it's really more like, laugh on the inside funny. I never really laugh out loud at Homestar's.

This one wasn't that good until the end and even then not until the stuff that happened after the paper already dropped and that last Easter Egg with the "Don't laugh at my bald spot."

Too many Easter Eggs in this one. I actually am starting to think the Eggs take away from the experience, you have to like watch it twice. Once to find all the Eggs and get them out of the way and a second time to relax and just watch the cartoon.

2003-07-07 01:26:54 PM
You could always watch it first and THEN hunt for the eggs after you get the general idea of the email.....

Just a rational thought.

2003-07-07 01:51:15 PM
What was the opening song this week? I know it but I can't think of the title.

2003-07-07 02:20:10 PM
This is the stupidest waste of bandwidth to ever hit the internet. Strongbad is the epitome of retarded.

2003-07-07 02:23:00 PM
Everyone of my friends thinks SB is corny tho I have made my little brother as believer...He's cool like me, the CHEAT is the illest sidekick ever. Am I the only one who like Strong Sad? Where is the cartoon? I could see them all on ADULT SWIM. They have a lot of "cutting edge" and risque toons.

2003-07-07 02:32:14 PM
Where can I buy these discount bricks? I want to build a B.B.Q. pit.

2003-07-07 02:37:49 PM
Wow, it's like Team Shark_Ryder actually wrote the script for this week's email.

I was hoping for a KISS reference with the "Beth" at the end...but my hopes were dashed.

That was the equivalent of a clips show for a TV series, right?

2003-07-07 02:41:23 PM
Did I do something wrong? My post was removed.

2003-07-07 04:08:20 PM
mailpuppy: I had this happen to me recently as well. With all due respect, I think the mods are getting a little too quick to delete things they think are unimportant / irrelevant / silly / not funny to them.

2003-07-07 04:12:50 PM
xsithlordx

Did you actually use the word "ill?" oh my, oh my.

2003-07-07 04:23:34 PM
xsithlordx: Homestar Runner is a children's cartoon...

Don't believe me? Check out this old crap

2003-07-07 04:41:56 PM
Wow... I'm amazed that StrongBad doesn't have more spelling mistakes. Do you know how hard it is typing with boxing gloves on?

2003-07-07 04:45:11 PM
"illest"?? do we actually let people who say "illest" post here?

it is a sad day indeed for the people of farkistan.

2003-07-07 04:58:05 PM
Mine eyes burninate at the improper "ill" usage!

2003-07-07 05:25:02 PM
StrongBad is over. Now that Mancow has jumped on the bandwagon, including playing the "Fhqwgads" song every morning, it's just not that funny anymore.

2003-07-07 05:44:01 PM
HomestarRunner: Old Hotness.

Red vs. Blue: Would be the new hotter hotness if they'd fix their @!*&% servers.

2003-07-07 06:03:14 PM
Homestar Runner is no longer cool - five minutes after this disappointment, I heard the 50-year-old women out in the customer service cubes talking to their boss about Trogdor, and how funny the one where Homestar makes a wet computer from Strong Bad's computer is.

Nothing could underscore the suckfulificizationinglyness of this one more. :(

Anyway, time to go audit the customer service computers for inappropriate internet usage. At least I'll get some enjoyment out of this.

2003-07-07 06:06:59 PM
Mancow "I'd never even speak to the worthless suits at 'Queer 101'* "is still on the air? Sigh.

*(unless they paid me buttloads of money. And syndicated me. And pretended I never, ever, called them 'Queer 101'.)

2003-07-07 06:08:15 PM
Farking media picked it up.
Been with HR for-farking-ever and now it's mainstream.

2003-07-07 06:27:16 PM
Strongbad sucks.

2003-07-07 06:27:45 PM
more mainstream = more tshirt sales = more money = chaps quit jobs to work on HSR full time = more HSR

I fail to see the problem...people that hate things solely because other people like it deserve to have their happiness taken from them.

and i was looking at the "old crap" that brianewart posted and saw the original children's book, and have subsequently decided that mr. bland should make a comeback. and maybe senor too.

2003-07-07 06:29:42 PM
I couldnt be happier it went mainstream :)

2003-07-07 07:07:12 PM
Is it just me or does HomeStarRunner sound like someone with Down's Syndrome?

2003-07-07 07:10:07 PM
mallio-
I am in a band and have wrestled with my morals over what is and isn't "Selling Out." And I have recently come to the realization that the bottom line is, in order to be able to make the best music I can, I need more time to work on it. I need to quit my job. You can't limit who you appeal to. You need to try to appeal to the most people you can in order to be heard above the din of mediocre music on our airwaves. And you never know who will dig what you're doin'. Bad, evil people still like good music.
In essence:
"more mainstream = more tshirt sales = more money = I quit job to work on Earthworm Justice full time = more EWJ"

HSR went from some thing small that just the Chaps' friends would see, to something that 300,000 people check out every Monday. Word of mouth made it happen. Uncool people at the water fountain sharing something cool with the unknowing makes this happen.
Yeah, kinda havin' trouble stringing my thoughts together here, it's been a long day :)

BTW- I use the word "ill."

2003-07-07 07:14:14 PM
Oh, and if anyone's interested in helping this farker spread the word, please check out earthwormjustice.com
