But they can save $150,000 and buy the refill kit instead!

I hope they are getting all the email that I get, offering discount ink jet refills.

It is in desperate need of more than one can of paint. What happens if I want to do a bit of work in more than one color?

Hektor can be mounted on any wall and the spray can at its heart is moved with two independently controllable pulleys.

Digital graffiti? For the progressive vandal in your life...

Heh, GMJ!

Actually, it sounds like replacement ink will be about $2.75... I'd love to have one of these.

The next thing they need is one that can grab onto the wall on its own with sticky feet or suction or something.

still no cure for cancer?

This thing is kinda' cool. The "paint head" just hangs on two chains from two gearboxes at the top corners of the wall. It just starts making dots for no particular rhyme or reason, which eventually become an image.

Long, boring video here: Hektor

Sounds like they are describing a plotter, not a printer. With the two motors, it sounds like it's plotting on an XY axis and painting that way.

Relatively useless, but awesome.

Didn't HP actually model their business around selling print cartridges and accessories? The printers are just a convenient way to get people to buy their ink.

bucketoftruth

Ok - I see that now - was on the cover of the Book "Che Guevara: A Revolutionary Life." I used to work at a Barnes and Noble and remember seeing that book, with the big CHE on the cover ever time I walked through the Green section. But... look, that should prove my point, then, right? Poor resolution. Hell, all these years and we're going back to the dot-matrix printer?
