Barely. That had to be one of the ugliest games I've seen in years. But, a W is a W.
2001-10-15 11:34:32 AM
Yeah, it was a pretty ugly one. The officials were throwing way too many flags on both sides (remember the illegal hands to the face call that killed a Rams drive Jim? It went both ways). Let them play the game, eh?

Strahan was awesome... but Warner hung in there and got them in the end.

arghh, i was on the edge of my seat all day.. the offense looke like crap, glad the defense looked awesome. In most cases, if a defense holds a team to 14 points or fewer, they usually win....but wow, what a game.

GO RAMSS!!!!!!

If only the Cards hadn't screwed the pooch.

I am in mourning over the Cards. And I thought we lucked out by getting the D-Backs first instead of the Braves. Crap.

Once again, I smell a conspiracy. Big money in baseball pulling strings.

I here by go on recording as saying: If the Yankees (Steinbrenner) and the Braves (Turner) miraculously find themselves in the World Series again, THE FIX IS ON.

Something is just too fishy here.

9ers will win the west again. And the lambs will learn to be everyones biatch.

I was a kid in St. Louis when the Cardinals played there. No one went to the games, 'cept when the Cowboys were in town (back then, people liked Dallas).

If it was not for a bullshiat holding call at the half, the G-men would have had a 2 point lead at the end, fark the refs. I love it when they decide a game.

Does suck about the Birds. I predicted them to beat the A's in 7 in the Series.

FOX didn't seem to ever catch this, but did anybody see the blown squeeze play last night where Matheny tagged the runner with his glove but he had the ball in his BARE HAND instead and the ump called the runner out anyway?

Oh well, it was getting really tough to follow the Blues with the Cards and Rams playing at the same time.

There also goes my prediction of STL holding the Series, Lombardi and Stanley Cup all at the same time...
2001-10-15 12:59:25 PM
TLBreer What they do is they have the ball in their hand, and the hand inside the glove to protect it better from popping out. That way they instantly pop the ball out to show the ump that they have it. It's sort of a trickery on the eye, but you could see them doing it on tags at the plate too.
2001-10-15 01:06:17 PM
I understand that, but Matheny's hand wasn't even in his glove. It was on the other side of his body, nowhere near his glove. Just struck me as funny...

i didn't even read this, i'm just a little pissed that it's labeled "cool." kurt warner sucks. GO BENGALS!
2001-10-15 01:29:47 PM
Kurt Warner sucks? Please! What are you basing this on? You may not like him, but you cannot say he sucks.

Look at his stats:

Now look at Jon Kitna's stats:

Kitna has never had above an 80 QB rating. Now, who sucks?

Go Bears (Brian Urlacher Rules) !!!!!!!!!!!
2001-10-15 02:26:10 PM
I don;t care if they did move. They will always be the L.A. Rams to me, so hateful to all 49er fans. Feh!
2001-10-15 02:28:41 PM
Somehow the Steelers are 3-1. Even after playing KC.
2001-10-15 02:34:14 PM
TLBreer: Most of the time when that happens they call the runner out for running outside the baselines but if the runner was reasonably close to the baseline and the ball was in his hand outside of his glove and he tagged him with the glove the runner is out. Botched call? you be the judge.

2001-10-15 03:49:08 PM
Yeah Walljasper,

They will always be the LA Rams, it is an insult that they didn't change the name when they moved. All I can say is enjoy it while it lasts St. Louis, at least the team moved to a good sports town.
2001-10-15 04:10:53 PM
Hopefully they'll stay unbeaten.

Until they play the Saints. Go Saints!

Feh, I poop on the Rams. Saints beat them 2 out of 3 times last year, and the Saints get NO respect. And they beat the Vikings and should've beat the Giants this season.
2001-10-15 04:18:03 PM
The Rams at least have an entertaining offence. The Jaguars just plain stink on ice right now; the only reason to watch the games is to bet on who gets hurt. Well, at least we don't have the Redskins...

"Go Bears (Brian Urlacher Rules) !"

I am a huge fan of NFL2K1 and NFL2K2. Playing as I do for hours at a time in the common room in our suite, I have become famous for shouts of "YOU CAN'T STOP BRIAN URLACHER" and "YOU CAN'T GET AWAY FROM BRIAN UUUUUURRRRRLACHER!!!!" (mostly directed at Terrel Davis). Brian Urlacher is sooo good in fact, that I find myself shouting these things even when I am alone in the room.
Brian Urlacher is that farking good

You are all wrong...
Brett Favre and the Pack are back and on the way to another Superbowl in New Orleans
2001-10-15 05:05:47 PM
Our Rams are going all the way again. Look at the schedule, no way we can lose. Even the Saints don't stand a chance. Tampa is a huge joke this season while Atlanta is oging downhill again without Anderson.

As for MLB, it IS fixed. How in the hell can the yankees come from behind in both the season AND the 1st series, to obviously take it? If they win this, it's a no brainer. The A's are a MUCH better team than the Yankoffs this year and I hope the MBL managers are not being sympathetic just because of what happened in NY on the 11th.

Thier mothers must be very proud of them.
2001-10-15 06:13:42 PM
Marshall Faulk is such a total player. Tough as a hammer. The guy just takes what hits him and keeps charging. Warner is fantastic, and when he's 'on', there's no touching him. He's got a touch I haven't seen in many years.

Besides. Everyone else are Ram's wannabes. Hee hee.

Woo! Go Rams!
