Here is a list of the Republicans who signed the letter together with their socialist compatriots.

Chuck Grassley
Kit Bond
Sam Brownback
John Thune
Mike Johanns
Mark Kirk

Mark Kirk is no surprise. He has wasted no time in voting with the democrats on virtually every issue since the minute he took office.

First off, capitalizing Republican and not democrat is the mark of a f*cking child incapable of rational thought or intelligent discourse.

And B) Kirk votes with 5 other Republicans, so, therefore he's a democrat. That's some brilliant logic right up in here.

Go Team Derp!

It's a ridiculously stupid subsidy (because corn ethanol sucks shiat compared to sugar ethanol), but it has nothing to do with socialism.

Quit throwing around that word, douchenozzle.

2010-12-04 11:42:55 AM
This right here is what I'm talking about. Anyone with a brain could have told you before the election that if the GOP took Congress, they'd continue exactly the same borrow and spend to subsidize the wealthy policies they gave us under the Bush administration. And that is exactly what they are doing.

Yet "fiscal conservatives" went to the polls and voted for these clowns by the millions anyway. How, then, can conservatives claim to have any core values? The answer is that they are dishonest. Conservatives don't actually believe anything they say. All they're concerned with is power for its own sake.

And this is just exhibit 6,375,839 proving it.

Conservatives: lying all the time about everything since 1980!

In my mind, the real disjoint in American politics has very little to do with Democrats vs Republicans, it's about how the practical distance between the two parties has shrunk so much while the shouting match has gotten louder.

I love the idea of burning our food supply in order to make fuel for cars.

Fun fact: Illegal immigration would not exist if not for our insane farm subsidies.

Midwestern Republicans try to keep propping up Corn. In completely unrelated news, the Cap-and-Trade nonsense has been blocked by Democrats from Virginia, West Virginia and Pennsylvania.

*yawn*

Next you're gonna tell us that the California senators support the bills that aim to stop copyright violations on movies and music.

No, no, no, real conservatives. People who think actually shrinking spending is a good idea and who are willing to let the free market work. Not the bassackward hypernationalist corporate whores in the Republican party who think that health insurance plays by free market rules while growing corn does not.

AdamK: ethanol is a scam

one giant farming scam

First, pay people to grow corn for ethanol. Then, when prices on other crops are driven up as a result of the reduced available farmland, replace normal ingredients in food with corn derivatives. Then, drive up prices on real food and label them 'organics'. Then, don't progress at all on ethanol research for a decade, and rake in the cash!

You're bidding on a pair of Senators. 3 terms each. Good moral compass. Needs new backbone. Likes strong, domestic production of goods and fiscal restraint. Since the 2010 models came out, no one has wanted the classics. Starting bid at $2500, but seller will haggle on price. Final bid includes Senators + 2 plane tickets to the regional airport of buyer's choice. ITEMS AS IS!

/Politics needs a "buy it now" option for the public to use

Actually, there's been a lot of progress on ethanol research. So much so that researchers have now moved on to better fuels like butanol and biodiesel.

Guess what? Remember how the economy was in the month before Obama took office? We were going to lose a ton of jobs no matter what. The only difference is whether the job loss would slow down and/or stop at the end of the 44th President's term or not.

Especially funny is this line from the article. You know, the article linked up there to RedState.

The tax credits for energy producers who blend fuel with ethanol have created so many unintended (or intended by some) negative consequences that even Al Gore is calling for its repeal.

Sometimes I wonder why Triaxis shows up ignored with the note "Generic tard". Then somebody quotes him, and I remember.

Things Obama has done so far:
--Stimulus package that saved the economy.

--Financial reform that will help prevent another crisis.

--Health care overhaul, a giant step toward universal coverage that had eluded presidents back to Franklin Roosevelt if not Teddy Roosevelt

--Making college loans more affordable.

--The Cash for Clunkers program that helped rejuvenate the auto industry.

--New consumer protections for credit card users.

--Making it easier for women to challenge pay discrimination.

--Increasing federal regulation of tobacco products.

--Cracking down on waste in Pentagon weapons acquisition.

--Making attacks based on sexual orientation a federal hate crime.

--Giving businesses tax incentives to hire unemployed workers.

--Tax credits for first-time homeowners.

Do you know why most engineering courses include Labs and not just text book reading? I'm actually curious as to if you understand that real world implementation and experience is sometimes better than reading from a text book.

Heres a crazy idea, how about instead of using a food product (corn) we use food byproducts(corn stalks for example) plus animal by product (poop) throw it in a sealed underground pit and just use the bio-gas it creates as it decomposes?

A large farm could easily run a few tractors off of the methane created and food prices are in no way effected.
