He steals from Fark?

You know, I have to wonder if anything I've ever said has ended up on TV somewhere as a bit. I mean, I know I'm not the wittiest guy, but I do think up good stuff every once in a while.

A couple of my headlines during the '08 election wound up on Olbermann. It happens.

If someone's business is comedy then Fark would be a legit place to cruise. There is some seriously funny shiat here which I think the headline of the year TFD posts show, and more than once I've almost done a spit take reading comments.

I saw one of mine used on SNL a while back for a Weekend Update joke. I can't remember the episode, lemme try and find it.

Yeah, if Pocket Ninja doesn't have his stuff stolen once a month, minimum, there's something wrong with TV 'comedy.'

How about Paul Riser?

Why do people keep insisting that Jay Leno stole the Tonight Show from Conan? Jay Leno wanted to retire, but NBC execs didn't want to let him out of his contract. That whole mess was because of NBC execs, not because of Leno. I think that Coco's fans target Leno because they see Leno as an easier target than the NBC execs who were really responsible for the whole mess

Jay Leno ripped off Rich FourFour? I thought the man couldn't sink any lower. I was wrong.

fourfour.typepad.com
Not only do I love Winston, I also freaking adore the supercuts Rich makes. The Mirror cut and the No Signal cut are the best things on Youtube. They're like live action TV Tropes.

If shame was a carcinogen Jay Leno would be more tumours than man.

his contract to host the tonight show ended once conan took over. Leno could have walked away at anytime....Just like Conan did.

The central question, for me,is this: If Leno only took this on The Chin, does that really count as full serving of humble pie or simply a slice of mortification?

If lifting material from Fark is wrong, then our local Rock-92.3 "Two Guys Named Chris" morning show Link (new window) would be on death row.

Seriously - they basically read the main page every. single. morning. Not just a sample article here or there - they just read Fark...

I think that in the last couple years, ALL local morning shows have started to do this. 2 different stations here do it.

If you read "The War For Late Night" and saw Jerry Seinfeld's embrassing kiss-ass defense of Leno at the end of the book then yes.

If any joke I wrote was bad enough that it appeared on Leno, I wouldn't want credit for it.

I sincerely believe Jerry Seinfeld wants to be the next Lorne Michaels for NBC. Which is what I thought Cobalt O'Bunion was going to be. Sort of.

I actually caught a few minutes of Leno last night. He was interviewing some guy, who was dumb as a post and came off as a total fratboy d-bag. Leno had a WTF am I doing here look on his face through the whole thing. I wouldn't be surprised if he just said fark it and retired soon.

The 102.1 the Edge morning show (Toronto) does it daily. If I happen to catch their "Edgefiles" segment on my commute in, I have a preview of at least three stories I can expect to find on the mainpage that day.

I don't know if No Name still does it on his own show, but back in the Sarah And No Name Show days, he regularly acknowledged Fark as a source of material.

And I mean it exactly as I wrote it. They'd thank the "Good People Of Fark Dot Com" for providing the show with much of the funny news material.

I've thought for a while now that Olbermann must be a Farker. Do guys like Olbermann have writers? Maybe someone on his staff is a Farker. But (and I don't watch his show very often) I've seen him say some things where I thought "I know I saw that on Fark today".
