"The reports are that he was asking people for money to buy some gas and that someone at the store reported the suspicious behavior," Banks said.

That must be a nice neighborhood. Around here, in Treme (New Orleans), if people weren't asking for change, that would be suspicious.

This is Albany GA,small town in the middle of nowhere, begging for gas money takes place at Pawn Shops not the station.

Next time you're going to steal a car, bring along some petty cash for discretionary spending.

Didn't that happen on an episode of The Bloodhound Gang?

This is only news to people who have not purchased a new car within the last what, 5 decades? The cars they have for test drives have had minimal amounts of gas for exactly this reason. Take a look next time you take a test drive, it has been that way for at least 20 years.

Pro-tip: People who steal cars off the showroom floor, are generally NOT the same people that buy new cars.

Perhaps if they would just put some signs on the cars that said, "This car haz no gas in it", this kid wouldn't be spending his next 5 x-mases in prison.

The same kind of sign the pizza guy haz, "Driver carries less than twenty bucks". But most people that rob the pizza guy do it for the pizza nowadays, bad economy and all.

usually, they will fill it up as a "perk" after you buy.

Too bad this is a Nissan and not a brand I can easily make fun of.

Your not supposed to have a lot of gas in the car's tank for the showroom model, but dealers often sell the one in the showroom and promptly drive one off the lot and into the showroom despite the fact they just filled the tank of the one the lot for a test drive or something.

Did Subby run out of prepositions?

I bought a car once, the gas gauge was on E when I picked it up. Salesman gave me a voucher for a free fill-up at the gas station at the corner, but by the time I was done with the transaction, the gas station was closed. I ran out of gas before I was able to get to the next gas station about a mile away.

/Cool story, sis.

What kind of gas station has hours that close before a car dealership would? And that is some farking amazing gas measuring accuracy. You gotta hand it to the dealer on that one.

A 2011 Nissan Altima? Not a bad car, but I'm sure a Nissan showroom had a few more lust worthy cars worth stealing.
