(Some Guy) Since beer bottles are not (usually) pathological or "wild" spheres, but smooth manifolds, they separate 3-space into two non-communicating regions: inside, containing beer, and outside, containing you. This state must not remain (bathsheba.com) divider line 34

Spending over $75 dollars for a beer opener makes you a douche. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Do these people not have teeth?

I don't know that it will open a beer bottle, but this would make a heck of a backscratcher.

Also separates 3-space and creates a chemical process involving combustion that is useful with other recreational drugs.

I have spent the better part of the afternoon opening beer bottles the old fashioned way(church key not twisters) and see no reason for an expensive non traditional opener.(Sweetwater 420). 50 year old church key at that.

I don't think it's homeomorphic to a sphere since there is a space such that the norm of the vector from a point on the edge of the bottle's opening to the cap is > epsilon > 0. This means the bottle is actually homeomorphic to a coffee cup, which contains coffee, which you drink in the morning. Therefore, it is ok to drink beer in the morning.

Since the bottle doesn't have a handle wouldn't it be homeomorphic to a disk instead of a torus?

Yer mom is homeomorphic to a disk.

One of the guys at work showed up with this. I told him I didn't think it would work. He was perplexed, then I e-mailed him a picture of a klein bottle.

The Klein bottle is a smooth manifold too (though it can't be embedded in R^3). The issue here is not one of wildness, but of orientability.

Why is that beer being attacked by a face-hugger? Man, the Alien that comes from beer's DNA is going to be something else.

Thank you, I was thinking if we can get Cliff Stoll to make a Klein beer bottle, this would be perfect. I hadn't thought of onions and what, beet juice?

Ahem... It embeds just fine. You just can't do it without intersection. It's like a linear singularity you can't blow up.

Sheesh.

It doesn't embed. The word you're looking for is "immerses".
