Barbara Bush, about Sarah Palin: "I sat next to her once, thought she was beautiful, and I think she's very happy in Alaska. And I hope she'll stay there."

She's barely smart enough to clean up a bathroom at Denny's.

This ridiculous turd is exactly where she wants to be. As long as she can safely snipe from the sidelines, and use the media when it suits her (as in following her around for her own realty show), she'll stay on the sidelines.

2010-11-22 11:52:56 PM
Reality show. Although, she does kind of have that realtor look.

If only we had some basis of law to keep the gub'ment out of the press...

I guess we can Constitutional Scholar to her resume. Along with journalism major...

By "clean up journalism" she means "make journalists stop saying unflattering but true things about me."

Seeing as she (supposedly) has a journalism degree, she should know what the rights of the press are.

"I want to help clean up the state that is so sorry today of journalism. And I have a communications degree.

Chew on that one for a minute, guys.

this is a tactic being used by republican crazies like sharon angle, rand paul and glenda o'donnell.

it's interesting that the current gop, knowing that much of their ideology is unpalatable to most voters, avoids the press rather than adopt and espouse sane opinions and policy ideas

I am really concerned about the influence of these socialists. The deficit is already too large, I don't think we can afford it.

CayceP: I tried to read her twitter tonight and now my headache is much, much worse. I can't make sense of half of them.

Nothing beats what Vanity Fair did to her. Then went through her resignation speech with an editor, fact checker and a couple others. Needless to say there was quite a lot of red ink involved. And how bad was it? She got a rather important detail about Alaska history wrong.

It must be easy to get a journalism degree. Apparently, grammar is optional.

As a liberal, I am going to come out and admit, I am afraid of Sarah Palin. In fact, deathly afraid would be a more apt description.

If this woman were to be elected president, I firmly believe that she wouldn't finish out her term, not because of a resignation, but due to the fact she would kill this country dead.

There, now I've openly admitted it.
I feel much better having done so.

2010-11-23 06:48:01 AM
She's not a journalist. She's a news presenter.

Stop it. Palin is nothing more than a get rich quick quack for what is left of "conservatism". Sane republicans can't stand this idiot.

You take things too seriously. To put it in perspective, stop thinking of America as a country, and start thinking of it as a light opera. like H.M.S. Pinafore.
We became a joke the day we elected the star of "Bedtime for Bonzo" President.

Yep you did. You should know that the Supreme court set precedent that unpublished works have a greater copyright protection against fair use in a very similar case when Ford's memoirs were leaked.

Gawker is going to lose, Palin will score 1 in her win column against the media and continue her campaign of freedom like her daughter carries on with her campaign of abstinence.

You Betcha!

The next thing we gotta fix after the journalist are all these nay sayers, Did you know these people hate freedom so much they will just express them selves however they want! We gotta make some laws to prevent that.

Also Did you know they don't even make kids pray to the 10 commandments anymore? They is taken god out of school and instead worshipping that dawrin guy. I Imagine an america free enough to put a stop to all of that, and get us on the right track again.

/Gah, I think typing that gave me cancer.

Stop this ride. I want to get off.

Yeah, Sarah. That interview made you look bad because Katie Couric was on a mission. It has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that every word that escapes your lips is marinated in stupid sauce.

Aren't you folks supposed to be all self-reliant and shiat? SO WHY DO YOU BLAME EVERYTHING ON OTHER PEOPLE?

I studied journalism, who, what, where, when, and why of reporting.

Who: Katie Couric and Sarah Palin
What: Couric interviewing Palin
Where: Alaska, overlooking Russia
When: A few months before the 2008 Presidential election
Why: To determine if Palin were competent enough to be one heart-beat from the Presidency, where the candidate for President was a 70 year old plus cancer surviving POW.

I'd say Katie did her job with those damm gotcha questions like what are the qualifications of a one term governor of Alaska with no other state wide or federal political experience. Couric didn't even ask really tough questions and, as I recall, had nothing of substance from the interview that would have allowed her to edit out Palin's flubs. Sarah thinks journalism is Fox (or MSNBC if you are a Democrat) throwing softball questions at you.

Here's an idea, Sarah.

Before you do an interview, study up on policy issues. Not that CliffNotes crap your staffers give you--actual, honest-to-God professional journals and up-to-date news from AP, Reuters, and AFP. Preferably from all three agencies.

You would be surprised at how much better you sound in interviews when you can answer a question coherently.

/I don't think she's stupid
//I do think she's lazy
///lazy is much, much worse

Freedom of the Press. Just another one of those vague concepts lost on Palin.

You can take comfort in knowing that Sarah Palin will not run for President in 2012 for two reasons.

One, it doesn't pay enough.

Two, it's hard work.

/By the way, really liked your comments on those Texas cases.
//Bet the jury sure would have voted to convict if the dead kid was white.

Clean up journalism, like silencing all her critics? Sounds fascist to me, but then again, what do I know, I'm just some nutjob libertarianesque guy who likes freedom of press, religion, speech and assembly.

It is my belief that the Right, starting with that joke Sarah Palin, would happily destroy all those rights if they thought it would advance their 'conservative' (read: fundamentalist) viewpoints.

Notice that her 'reality' show is on the same network that shows 19 Kids (Quiverfull) and Sister Wives (Mormon) and all the exploitative family TV with all the midget shows.

I don't know about you weak-kneed Libs, but if there's anybody I want sitting across the table from Ahmadinejad or Putin, it's somebody who couldn't handle a lightweight softball pop journalist like Couric.
