ImJustaTroll: Quasar: Whew; made it just in time for today's misogyny thread.

WOMEN ARE WHORES

*grabs popcorn*

Continue.

Because automatically giving millions of dollars to an ex-wife who should have gotten $0 and a restraining order is good and true.

And if you believe otherwise its automatically Misogyny.

//Or are you referring to the fact that Fark is full of He-man woman haters, and that because of our misogyny, we seem to single out news like this? Because that's full of shiat too.

I don't know, the thread's delivered pretty well so far.

What's wrong with continuing to bask in your 54 million pounds while you watch your ex's life spin wildly out of control? Now her entire greedy family will go after her instead of you. Unless you're the one about to get sucked into a tailspin that leaves you dead in an Irish ditch somewhere. Don't be that guy.

The lottery's already wildly unfair. Making it less unfair sort of defeats the purpose.

"Clean Break Clause" my ass. Divorce is a clean break, and any forked-tongued, extortionist blood sucker who advocates to the contrary is full of rot-gut shiat.

Further, any lawyer who would fight for such a disgusting theft should be beaten and dropped off a cliff into the sea, along with any judge who agreed.

A guy I work with got divorced; in the settlement it said that she will get 'the white car'. No VIN number, make model, or anything other than that. What she meant was the white BMW. Well, just before it was finalized, he traded that car to a friend for a white Pinto, which he gave to the wife.

It was glorious.

Slappajo: Two million out of 56 million? That's only like 3.7%. What's 3.7% to rich people? I mean, shouldn't they be taxed at about 99.9% anyway?

No person needs this much money. It should be taken and distributed equally among the poor.

You're right. It should be dropped from 40,000 feet. That way all the paupers have an equal chance at catching as much as they can.

If they had lawyers, she should sue hers. If they didn't, it didn't happen.

That being said, I would tapdance to her house while listening to living la vida loca on loop to give her 2Mil of the 56MIL I just won.

And I would do it with a smile.

Wow, just wow. You're a better person than me, I'd be very angry.

I disagree. My ex was a stay at home mom to our kids while I was out working. Sure I was paying the bills, but I was also padding my resume. I was happy to pay her temporary alimony for three years to compensate.

Well, I wasn't happy, but it was the right thing to do.

Not sure if I should slap you silly for losing out to some WoW chick in her basement, or take you out to get mind numbingly hammered to get over it. How'd you let it get that far anyway and not be part of the fun?

Hence, he should have gotten the hell out of Brit.

If you've been through a shiatty divorce and can afford it, the money is a small price to make them go away, for good. Good-farking-bye.

I bet he'll have that little "clean break" thing taken care of now too. Fark, it might have been part of the settlement.

Many frivolous suits get filed hoping the party will settle rather than go to court. I think this one makes that list. He wanted to give her a generous amount and he did.
I suspect a court would have been more favorable to a suit against her for alienation of affection had he wanted to file it.
It would be more interesting if her new partner blows all the money or skips out on her.

He's a moron for even sticking around to settle. All he's done is open the flood gate. One she's burned through it, she'll be back for more and she'll get it.

The article explains that since he was paying maintenance, she is legally able to demand a one-time payout, which she did. She asked for 8 million, she agreed to 2 million.

He could have spent 10 million fighting and still lost but instead is out 2 with the biatch out of his life forever. A good investment and I bet he sleeps well in his eco-lodge with indoor pool and theatre.

After I bought my own Island in the Gulf of Thailand, I would have quite happily spent the 2 million quid buying my own police force to keep her fat greedy arse away from my money.
The daughter would have been gifted a nice fat trust fund sealed tightly with conditions that the trust fund would be left to a cat should the ex wife receive one penny from the daughter.

Which is retarded.

So you have to specify that you aren't supposed to give your ex wife your own money after a divorce?

Well, their divorce doesn't say that I shouldn't get the money either, where's my cut?

When you have that much money, the only thing that is out of your price range is time.

Sure maybe he could have ruined her life and gotten away with not having to pay anything more than his legal team, yet at the same time wasted several years sitting in courts going over and over what a woeful biatch she is.

However he did the much smarter thing and gave her 2 mil (
Seriously for all of you who are saying you would spend the time and money to get back at your ex, every minute you spend doing that she is winning at wasting more of the one thing you cannot buy with even 50 million quid.

See, THIS is why we need to kill all the lawyers.

Only lawyers can take something based on sheer stupidity and greed, ignore common sense and turn it into a payday for someone who doesn't deserve it. Plus, a fat fee for themselves.

After 10 years of divorce, there logically should be no binding contract between the two, aside from care of the child and even that, by law, ends at 18.

I can't understand why a judge would even consider taking this to court, especially since the marriage was dissolved due to actions by the woman.

Using this logic, I guess I could sue my ex-gf of 15 years ago for the $5000 she managed to bilk me out of during the course of our relationship.

With no promise of future payments for any reason, the lady had no legal reason to expect a portion of the man's winnings. I can't even understand what possible excuses a lawyer could use to even attempt to get a portion of the winnings for the greedy lady. Now, for the kid, yeah, but not the lady.

I think if I had been the guy, I'd have gone all the way to court and kept fighting until she ran out of money then sued her for legal costs.

Ummmmm, these things do not mean the same thing. The dude just won 56 million, giving her 2 million for her to "just go away" is something that happens all the time in life, business, etc.

I'd spend the 2 million dragging her ass through court and making her regret ever annoying me. An army of private detectives keeping tabs on her 24/7 would be a good start, even if nothing came of it. Especially if you tell the P.I.s to not try too hard to go unnoticed.

Well in that case it gets down to a risk vs reward situation. Personally if I just won enough money to be party, travel, whatever in style and comfort for the rest of my life I wouldn't risk it on going to jail for petty revenge to save a lousy 4% of more money than im likely to ever spend.

Maybe im just not enough of an internet tough guy to personally know or be able to contact the world's top assassins who would take the job, not fark up and not either tell the police or be undercover cops themselves.

He should have counter sued for custody of the daughter since he is now obviously better able to provide for her.
