I recently signed up to have submitted news flashes emailed to a folder in my inbox at work.

I am amazed at the number of people who think that anything sports related is News Flash worthy. Are their lives that pathetic and boring that decisions regarding sports teams rate the same tag as "plane plummets from sky"?

I hear Wade Phillips is available.

Unless this is your very first day on TF, that seems like a monumentally stupid idea to me, with all due respect.

Now how can Minnesota top Dennis Green, Mike Tice, and Brad Childress?

They have a special folder that they are filtered into, so I don't have to deal with them.

Does this mean that when the team is tanking even further in a few weeks they are going to fire Favre too?

2010-11-22 02:40:26 PM
As a Packers fans, I am deeply saddened by this. Childress was exactly the kind of coach you want a division opponent to keep forever.

Also amused that the last two teams the Packers have played have fired their head coach within a few days. Mike Singletary might want to watch out in a few weeks.

2010-11-22 02:40:28 PM
It's about time. An owner of an NFL team has only two expectations from a head coach: Win more games than you lose and don't have sex with other men. He failed in the first expectation. I am not sure about the second expectation.

2010-11-22 02:40:38 PM
Great, now who's gonna be the fluffer for Little Farve, aka The Big Four Inch?

2010-11-22 02:41:34 PM
This isn't news! It has nothing to do with FAVRE!

2010-11-22 02:42:44 PM
Chilly probably sucks, but I wouldn't exactly line up to take that job in his place given all the drama surrounding that franchise, and their apparent willingness to tank an entire season just to get rid of their coach.

Raging Thespian: Now how can Minnesota top Dennis Green, Mike Tice, and Brad Childress?

Denny Green had a 97-62 record with the Vikings. Which I have to admit is not bad, even though I hate the Vikings.

Great news! This paves the way for Favre to take over as player/manager.

Pretty bold card to play for someone who admits to signing up for Fark newsflash E-mail updates.

Oh great. My beloved Redskins are really courteous when it comes to welcoming interim head coaches into the league with a win in their first game.

/guess who the Vikings play this week

Just wait until something actually flash-worthy happens. Your inbox will hit 100.

Rumor I heard was Favre will retire this week because the Sterger investigation is wrapped up and he wants to avoid a likely 4-week suspension. No idea how reliable this info is.

I wonder if the interim coach would seriously consider benching him.

2010-11-22 02:47:47 PM
I watched yesterday's atrocity in person. The loudest Vikings fans got after halftime was during the "Fire Childress" chants, and when the two-minute warning was announced.

I didn't know that cheers could be sarcastic.

Way to go Vikings, making the Rodgers/Jennings combo look like Montana/Rice.

2010-11-22 02:48:59 PM
As a Packer Fan, I just want to express my sympathy to all the Vikings fans out there. You deserve better.

I'm pretty sure Rodgers will carry a smile on his face until the first time he'shiat next Sunday after performing like that with his "mentor" (heh) having the best seat in the house.

Tavaris better step the fark up.

2010-11-22 02:50:50 PM
The whole season has been a debacle. I can only hope that it doesn't spill into next season. Take the rest of the season to see who wants to play for the Vikings, find out who our QB will be, cut ties with quitters, get rid of Childress(check), hire Leslie Frazier full time, have a good draft, and pray that all of those things combined are enough to wipe off the stink of this season. We should have Peterson and Rice in their prime. I hope we don't squander it.

If he had benched Favre in week 3, none of this would've happened. Favre is playing horrible football. Bench him and put him out of his misery.

Stay classy!

FWIW - I still don't know how the Bears are still tied with the Packers. I think the Packers are a MUCH better team than the Bears.

2010-11-22 02:54:03 PM
Now, maybe Chilly's replacement will bench Farve.

Maybe.

Lulz.

2010-11-22 02:57:03 PM
Given the fate of coaches who've been humiliated by the Packers, can we add a last minute game between the Bengals and the Packers to the regular season, please?

2010-11-22 02:57:28 PM
This raises the question: why now? Why not last week? Or the week before?

Bench him for who, Tavaris? With Chilly out his days are numbered.

Thank farking God. And to top it all off, we get to trial Frazier. This is pure win. Now if the Vikes can convince another team that TJack is the second coming of Joe Montana and get a first or second rounder for him, we'll be golden.

The Onanist: FWIW - I still don't know how the Bears are still tied with the Packers. I think the Packers are a MUCH better team than the Bears.

Since Chicago's back to back home losses against the powerhouse Redskins and Seahawks, we've played the then-winless Bills, the Vikings' sorry asses, and a Dolphins team that has 9 healthy knees on the entire roster. Hence, 7-3.

But, the Bears defense is legit, and they've got a few extra days to prepare for the Philly Vicks, so there's a remote possibility that Chicago will get a real victory next Sunday. There's a much greater possibility that Chicago gets blown out by 20, however.

/still stand by my preseason 9-7 prediction

2010-11-22 03:06:32 PM
If it wasn't for the fact that their fans are the most obnoxious subhuman form of life on this planet (next to Tea Partiers and New England Sports fans), I'd feel sorry for this franchise.

Just another nail before the inevitable trip to L.A.

That's highly unlikely. Remember, Ben ultimately got a 4 game suspension for having "allegedly" raped two women. Brett ultimately just embarrassed himself.
