Doctor Who.

And notice there's no Star Wars, Buffy, Red Dwarf, or Kevin Smith on that list either.

I was going to say that Doctor Who wasn't nerdy enough to go on that list, but then you corrected him from "Dr Who" to "Doctor Who" and there went that argument.

2010-11-20 05:23:48 PM
Wow, that was gay. And I didn't even have to evoke Scott Wampler.

I swear that was intentional and I was worried no one would get it. Only reason Doctor Who wouldn't be on the list is if it were restricted to American franchises only and Doctor Who is considered too cult. That's why no mention of BSG and Firefly.

I think I may have been phantom banned for mentioning Scott Wampler.

Nope. Unless we're both phantom banned, in which case we can play cards or something.

ARRRRGH!!!! IVE BEEN WAMPLERED

2010-11-20 07:20:53 PM
Really? Do these guys know Red Dwarf exists?

2010-11-20 07:22:19 PM
HaH! Can't Wampler me, examiner link = no clicky clicky

2010-11-20 07:23:03 PM
What the hell is a Twilight or Avatar?

2010-11-20 07:23:23 PM
I think Wampler is that TMLO guy.

BitterTeacher: Really? Do these guys know Red Dwarf exists?

If they put Twilight at number one, probably not.

Seriously those are like the biggest, most well-known, most mainstream fantasy franchises of all time! That's like saying Will Smith is some obscure art-cinema actor, or that watching football and listening to Katy Perry is some little niche thing only hipsters do.

They must have changed the meaning of nerdy while I was asleep.

2010-11-20 07:28:27 PM
You know what adjective doesn't describe examiner links? "Glorious." It does, however, describe one of Scott Wampler's top five favorite kinds of holes.

2010-11-20 07:32:12 PM
No chance in hell I will ever click an Examiner/wampler link again.

FTFA "UPDATE: Due to popular demand,"

I highly doubt it.

Kublai Khan: 2. STAR TREK

Second? Shenanigans.

Behind Twilight, even. The list is automatically bullshiat for that alone.

2010-11-20 07:36:46 PM
The girls that don't watch Twilight are the nerds.

2010-11-20 07:38:05 PM
Twilight is #1? Are they smoking crack? Twilight is not a farking nerd franchise. It's a MILF-going-after-guys-way-too-young-for-them franchise.

2010-11-20 07:38:59 PM
Twilight is nerdy now? Does the writer think that "nerdy" is a synonym for "retarded" or something?

2010-11-20 07:39:57 PM
Did Wampler actually write something of his own? This isn't just a link to someone else's work?

Is that why there haven't been any links in a few days, too busy actually writing something?

2010-11-20 07:40:55 PM
Wow, no Eureka, Doctor Who, Star Wars, Monty Python, or Buffy. Seriously fail list. And he tried to explain Avatar, a single movie as both nerdy and a franchise? I could shiat a better nerd list than that.

2010-11-20 07:41:55 PM
Planet of the Apes.

Shostie: Just when you thought the long nightmare was over...

Not 20 minutes ago I was checking to see how long it had been since a steaming pile of Wampler got dropped in the Showbiz tab and thought to myself that maybe someone got told to finally cut that shiat out.

I forgot one thing though:

Sure, don't mention me. Why should you care, anyway?
Don't bother remembering me.

It went from hilarious to sad by the end of the series. I wish I had stopped at 3.

Nuke the site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

I'd have to go with Monty Python. Different nerds have different tastes when it comes to fantasy or sci-fi, but I've never met a one who wasn't more than happy to quote entire routines at the merest suggestion.

You'll never meet a nerd more happy when he gets to correct someone attempting to quote routines at the merest suggestion.

I've always thought Star Wars geeks were the nerdiest if only for the Nerdom-to-Source-Material ratio. Hell, Star Trek at least had a TV series (and eventually movies and more series) to justify their nerdom, Star Wars fans had 3 movies.

Written by a 13 year old girl, helped by her 14 year old boyfriend.

Nerd-to-Source fails without "Princess Bride".

At the bottom of the article is a button for reporting offensive material. Putting Twilight at at #1 is about as offensive as you can get.

I clicked the link because I find Scott Wampler's writing and humor refreshing. Many of you here could learn a thing or two from him. GO WAMP!

1) Star Wars
2) Star Trek
3) Lord of the Rings
4) Harry Potter
5) every other sci fi franchise

Star Trek had that too. I don't count any of the published stuff as anything more than glorified fan fiction.

No. This list didn't include Breakin 2: Electric Boogaloo
