This post shows the difference between liberals and Americans. Republicans voted for the candidate they thought was best, NOT who their Dear Leader told them to.

Liberals see this as some sort of victory against Palin when it is not. They just can't wrap their heads around the idea of people thinking for themselves.

She may be a polarizing pain in the ass. Just the sight of her makes most people cringe. Her voice can instill uncontrollable vomiting and skin crawling. However, she knows how to draw a crowd and get Teabaggers to the voting booth. Her ridiculous rhetoric and hackneyed statements about "liberty-loving Americans" and "commonsense constitutional conservative" drive these people to vote. We can poke fun of her, rebut her absurd political arguments, but fark, don't ignore her ability to mobilize the "god-fearing, constitutional, libery-loving, freedom-ringing conservatives". I'll believe her 15 minutes are up when I no longer read about her on Fark.

Lando Lincoln: I would only hope that Alaskans would be sick of her shiat even more than the rest of us.

That ship sailed a long time ago. She's good theater unfortunately, and a master at pandering to idiots, so the rest of the country won't let us ignore her.

I wonder if even SHE is delusional enough to think she's got a real shot at getting the Nom at this point? If she runs and loses she basically fades off into the Ross Perot Memorial Sunset as the media stops caring about her, her legions of Twitter followers move on to the next big thing and the boatloads of contributor cash shrinks to half a dignhy-full.

If on the other hand she can come up with a convincing reason NOT to run this time, she could string out this gig for another decade or so, as the true believers keep repeating "if only she would run..."

So basically what I'm saying is the "Self-deluded idiot or Cunning con-woman" debate should be decisively settled by the start fo the Iowa caucuses

But Obama will be a write-in candidate in 2012, because he's going to have to produce his birth certificate to get on the ballots and everyone knows he can't do that!

Something likely to be overlooked in Nate Silver's post today on the favorability/unfavorability ratings of national political figures: Michael Huckabee is the least unpopular of the top four Republican presidential candidates. Huckabee is +16, versus +9 for Romney, -10 for Gingrich, and -14 for Palin. As a benchmark, President Obama stands at +6, George W. Bush at -9, Dick Cheney at -17.

Politics aside, I just don't like Palin as a person. She doesn't seem too bright. She's an attention whore. She quit her job as an elected official to cash in on her accidental fame. If McCain hadn't picked her as his running mate in 2008 she'd be finishing up a term as governor of Alaska right now and no one would even consider her to be presidential material.

Wow, she's mildly less disliked than Dick "Darth" Cheney. That's something else.

Huckabee's favorability rating's a little concerning, though. He's got the same horrible ideas and disdain for learning as Palin, but wrapped up in a more civil veneer.

Um, Republicans voted for Joe Miller in the primary because of Sarah Palin's endorsement. The Alaskan voters of all parties and non-parties decided to elect Lisa Murkowski instead. Fox just posted this two days ago: RINO Murkowski Lashes Out at Palin

So who's the real Dear Leader?

I'm not so sure about this. If she makes a run at the Presidency and loses, She'll claim ACORN and voter fraud, and it will further galvanize her following and turn her into the next LaRouche.

Thanks. That was exactly my point. I vote conservative but hate Palin as much as the next guy. If Democrats would stop paying so much attention to her the biatch would go away. The only reason the republicans keep her around is because Dems go into some kind of psychotic fit at any mention of her. She is a good distraction for us while we work on our more nefarious plans.

I tried to explain this to my liberal friends how MSNBC and the Dems completely blew the election by focusing on extreme Tea Party candidates who Republicans were not going to elect anyway. Thats where Dems blew it, and not surprising, they still haven't figured it out as this whole thread demonstrates.

What makes it doubly funny is the Democrats think there are superior intellectuals and can't see the forest but only the little mama grizzly in the tree.

HERE'S THE OBVIOUS: If you have better ideas than the current cast of characters, then run for a public office yourself and try to change things. If you aren't able (for any number of possible reasons) to run, then call or write to your representative or anyone in authority that will listen. And if you can legally vote, do so whenever you get the chance.

As a Liberal, I'm pulling for Palin all the way. It's our best shot at getting a Democrat reelected in 2012. It's really scary that Huckabee or some other idiot could be our president in a few years. I actually think science and education are important. I also don't want our economy destroyed by pandering to the wealthy 1% and corporations. I know I know Obama's stimulus is going to be cited as an example of big business, but day in and day out the GOP works against the average America but somehow still retains the middle America vote. Okay I'm ranting but the point is Palin/anyone 2012!!!

i don't think palin had the opportunity to inspire people to put a man on the moon because she wasn't around when that was a relevant goal. she has inspired millions of mama bears to come out of their caves and have their practical, common-sense approach to governance heard, though, which i think is at least as important as fig newtons and einstein bagels.
