I dont think many of the simple liberal mind even understand the word treason. A recent example would be a prominent liberal senator. He was given a secret briefing on what the united states was doing to catch assama been ladin. Directly upon leaving that meeting with the President of the United States, and after swearing on his honor to keep the secret he told assama that the US was tracking his cell phone and would surely catch him directly. The cell phone went dead as the respected liberal senator spoke. Now you of the simple mind would say this man, the honorable senator made a mistake. If assama is still alive and if he kills even one more American it will because of the direct aid that was given to him by this liberal senator and all the rest of the simple liberals that forgive him the mistake of TREASON .He gave aid and comfort to an enemy, that will use that aid to kill people that the esteemed senator took an oath to protect. But Hay, to some of you simple ones I Swear. An oath is only words you can change the meaning to suit your needs.
I Haven't read Ann's book yet but it is in the mail to me. I may not agree with all that is in the book but, Ann gives references to every claim she makes. So if I don't agree with her I can go and check her reference and see where she got her information, and then make an informed intelligent decision. This is a very dangerous thing for the simple minded smart liberal you may learn something, contrary to the liberal mantra, and as you all know, it is dumb to learn stuff that does not fit your pre-exsisting mind set.

Did anybody actually read all of Penrod's post? I stopped at "simple minded liberal."

My favorite part of the review:
It is the same with liberals. They control everything, and yet somehow the White House, both houses of Congress and, with the exception of several New York delis, virtually the entire business community are in the hands of conservatives. It's hard to figure.

Also M'Ann Coulter is an idiot. And she's mean. I think if she ate something once in a while, she might not be so mad all the time.

2003-07-01 09:21:29 AM
Ann Coulter is right on the money. Liberals try to be cute and explain it away. The reason Ann is percieved to be mean is because she is correct and focused like a lazer beam on getting her message out. She won't be side tracked by liberals telling her that she hates kids or some other stupid ploy. I have yet to run into any liberal that wasn't "simple minded".

Heh, I was listening to Alan Combes' radio show when he had Ann Coulter on. Now there's good radio! They were both obviously trying hard not to erupt into a rant, but they kept snapping at each other from time to time.

It's amazing how many right wingers can't use proper spelling and grammar. I manage to make it through Penrod's post but it hurt my brain to do it.

This is quite an amusing article though. Ann Coulther seems to have reached the height of absurdity.

2003-07-01 09:41:27 AM
Hey Penrod, maybe you should follow your hero's example and give a reference for your ridiculous claim. Also, it's slightly ironic that you are lashing out against "simple minded" folk, but somehow don't see a problem with saying "assama" instead of Osama.

2003-07-01 09:41:40 AM
Penrod -

You're saying you believe an elected Senator is giving direct warnings to bin Laden, and not only that, has his cell phone number? And this is your argument against liberals?

Seriously, the tinfoil has to come down past the ears to have any effect. Any higher and the evil liberals will use their mind control to make you like poor people.

2003-07-01 09:46:19 AM
I'd hit it.

Whether the sources she uses are real or even back up her claims is often open for debate however.

Good lord, Penrod. First off, who is assama been ladin? Not that I like the guy, but at least get his name right. And if such a senator had done such a thing, he would have been arrested, tried on treason and put to death. Who was this prominent liberal senator, and why didn't anyone hear about this act?

2003-07-01 09:54:18 AM
I can't believe you guys are letting a simple-minded conservative get to you like that. He's either trolling or he needs to read a paper or two. Either way, you're not going to get him to open his mind.

2003-07-01 10:10:18 AM
Don't worry, jay_vee, I think they're just trying to toy with him. Anyone who says "prominent liberal senator" without naming the man or giving references to the event is obviously just trolling, and many people just find it too hard to resist slapping him around a bit.

Does anyone else expect to see a "revealing" NewsMax account within the next day or two of how Richard Cohen helped Bill Clinton get interns to blow him? Perhaps the article will favorably review a book with such revelations, available from the NewsMax store?

2003-07-01 10:18:15 AM
This was a pretty good review, as he did concede on some of her points.

I don't understand this idea that being nice is a weakness. Its absurd. And she's absurd. Oooh, look at me, i'm a tough woman who "tells it like it is". So what? Things like this make the American public look dumber and dumber by the minute. I'd rather have an honest politician, democrat or republican, than one who is a whore for a corporation. What ever happened to the greater good of all people instead of our pockets? I hope one day we'll stop worshipping The Almighty Dollar.

I stopped reading at assama been ladin. Personally I refuse to take seriously any argument put forth by someone who feels the need to twist people's names around as some sort of smug joke. I feel the same way about people who say, "Shrubya" instead of Bush.

The Conservatives deserve Ann Coulter. Shrews like her marginalize conservative Republicans and dissuade people from identifying with the Conservative agenda. Her bitterness and patent immaturity scare away more people than she attracts. Coulter's divisive and mean-spirited message is that people who think differently than her are anti-American and do not deserve respect or courtesy. It is a simple-minded approach that appeals to those who hate. As long as she ties Conservatives to that sad, pathetic minority, her continued presence on the national stage will do more harm than good to them. That Conservatives are not smart enough to see that is one reason I'm a liberal.

The craziness and irrelevance of Ann Coulter is old news. Move along.

Alterman has already taken Coulter apart in "What Liberal Media?". All she can do now is screech to the choir (see Penrod, above).

I don't care who she represents. She's just a dumbass idiot. Yes, old news. Next?

Of course! I always read every word of Penrod's. In fact, he's the main reason I visit Fark every day; I'd hate to miss out on even one of his bits of wisdom. The nice thing about Fark is, we all get to share in the views of people with varying opinions, difference life-styles and backgrounds, and, in some cases people from different planets.

Ivy league grad, Michigan law school alum, and hot to boot!
Could stand to eat a cheeseburger or two, though.

I wonder if she really believes all that she says or if she is just trying to make a buck by milking the wacko right wing.

I consider myself conservative, but she is waaayyy out there in Pat Buchanon(?sp)-land.

2003-07-01 12:25:02 PM
Why is it that many conservatives that post on Fark seem... I don't know... moronic? I mean, whether you're of one political bent or the other, the percentage of conservative clones posting here are in the high double digits.

On one level, it's funny to read this crap, but on another, it's so sad. Is this the legacy of our country's failure (not to mention their families and schools) to teach our citizenry how to think in a critical manner?

Or spell, for that matter.

Ugh.

UPRIGHT (or is that uptight?) I think that you have it backwards. You get one conservative comment and then you get seven or eight lefties picking them apart, high-fiving each other about how smart they all are. Sit back, open your mind, and observe. You'll see that I'm correct.

Yes, I too agree with Ann "Don't call me Skeletor" Coulter that the nation should rid itself of the traitors in this nation hiding under the first Amendment. The jew...oops...I mean liberal media has ruined the GOP ands what's right for this country. God talks to Bush daily, shouldn't that be enough. I'd write more, but it's hard to type with one hand while "sieg-heil"ing with the other. I don't know how Ann Coulter does it.

2003-07-01 01:52:57 PM
Smookyfufu. I usually find that the difference between the conservative vs. liberal arguement is fact vs. emotion. That is emotion instead of fact from the left. Just because someone isn't the best at getting their point out doesn't mean that the facts they have aren't valid. Most liberals, when confronted with facts usually resort to really nasty name calling to try to cow the other person into silence.

2003-07-01 01:53:59 PM
Ehh...anyway you look at it liberals are on the wrong side of things all the time.

Very true. Plus there's her intolerance to listening to any counter-arguments. The fact that people believe anything Ann Coulter says frightens me.

Also, as some Farker stated in a previous thread, it's amusing how her first book "Slander" accuses liberals of being slanderous and then in this book, she calls liberals Traitors.

2003-07-01 01:55:25 PM
Ann Coulter is as nutty as a squirrel's scrotum. Having said that, I'd still shag her bandy given half a chance.

2003-07-01 01:55:38 PM
Hey mysticcat, does OAS AAS LLS mean anything to you, other than being a bunch of random letters?

Just wondering...

2003-07-01 01:56:16 PM
I don't think that's so far-fetched...after all Saddam Hussein did have his own British legislator in his pocket.

He was a leftist, too, by the way. I'm sure that's irrelevant.

2003-07-01 01:56:29 PM
Anne Coulter is obviously the result of an fiendish experiment by some crazy GOP scientist who took the brain of some old, cranky rightwing twit (eg Jesse Helms) and implanted it into the head of some blonde bimbo.

Move along folks, nothing to see here...

The way you say that makes it sound like you're doubting conservatives do the same thing. Read through a Fark political thread (such as this one, it should be good) sometime and you'll see both sides are just as guilty of being immature.

wldncrzy14 - Traitor is a term that has a definition. If it is accurate, then use it. If it is just a label that can't be backed up, then it is slander.

Posts here indicate that the hard right has passed dumbed out and entered a realm previously unknown: dumbed beyond redemption.

A note on '04: 12 eggs != 12 chickens.
