Meh. I had a teen-aged neighbor who probably was involved in 3 murders. Illegals, drugs and gangs are killing innocent people and destroying neighborhoods.

Sad story: I had a greenlight that I didn't even know about until days later. When you get them at the rate of less than one a year, you need to KNOW. It was a great story, too. I even knew someone who knew the people in it.

On-topic: children have no impulse control. I'd rather try to talk my way out of being killed with an adult than with a little kid. They don't understand what it means to kill someone, just like teenagers don't ever think they can be killed.

Exactly right. One can aquire a very fine grade, locally produced, for nearly the same price as that horse dung those guys distribute. Although, most of the south of the border folks I know who have some real knowledge about the situation is that cocaine and meth are the primary battle ground drugs. If those guys were just smoking weed, they probably wouldn't be shooting at each other. Weed is considered a "gutter drug" in Mexico.

That "true sense" is only what your culture has taught you. In Europe during the Middle Ages, a boy of 12 from a noble family would be out on the battlefield serving as a knight's squire, and in a year or two would be fighting as a knight himself. Northern Mexican drug-gang culture isn't that far removed from European feudalism of a few centuries ago.
