Level that shiathole.

This article about a novel thing to see does not have a picture. This article fails.

Anyone here have a picture, so that they may win?

Can you add "No pic" in the headline? It's just that extra bit of information that would make me not click.

Shouldn't you guys wait until the gold market bust before you make fun of Glen Beck because right now he is making a shiat load of money.

Too bad there's no picture. It sounds like it could be beautiful.

I thought goldschlager (can't spell) had bits of gold in it. Or at least the the bar tender at the bar/grill I worked at in college told me so. I guess if drinking it is ok, who the fark cares.

I once tried to drink 10 bottles in one week in the hope that I would shiat a golden nugget.

Boom economies run like that...For a while. In Japan's heyday, they drank gold dust with their coffee...Just because it cost more. Don't see that much these days.

It does, and it does not matter. Pretty much inert, you have shiny turds the next day. Beats a taco bell shiat anyway.

Dubai is like a turd somebody painted gold. No matter how pretty it may look, it's still a piece of shiat.

So it is gold leaf? Meh. Dubai sucks. Needs to implode on itself.

I read in National Geographic a year or two ago that something like 90% of the world's gold is used to make jewelry (and I suppose, gold tattoos). Jewelry.

All that money wasted on a metal, and a price driven up and up and up, and lots of people killed over it year to year, and they're not even using it for something worthwhile like high quality electronics. I realize even that's a bit of a stretch, but it's better than bling in my opinion.

Oh come on, how stupid can you be? The amount of gold leaf in one of those tattoos is probably less than a penny.

Wait a sec, isn't this is the same city that had to ask for a last minute bailout loan from the rulers of its rival city, Abu Dhabi, to save itself from bankruptcy. Where a bunch of its most glitzy projects are falling apart due to lack of investors and tenants such as the Palm Jumeriah and the Burj Khalifi - tallest bldg in world which is mostly empty?

This place was ground zero (or atleast one of them) for the most recent economic crisis... this article is like 2 years too late.

I often amuse myself by reading a headline, and then trying to guess how quickly someone will post an image referring in some more or less oblique way to said headline. I read this one, thought to myself, "Teal'c within ten," and HA! There he was, tenth post.

I need a life...

No, sparky, 18k solid is the lowest grade anyone sells. It's all hallmarked. As if you even know what that means.

Gold's ductility means it can be rolled into absurdly thin foil sheets and flakes. They're so thin that, despite being 24K gold, the value is negligible.

There's nothing outrageously materially extravagant about a gilded tattoo.

We should ask those Indian workers on the bottom picture, provided they won't be beaten or killed for talking to outsiders.

You have some interesting ideas about Dubai. Have any that you didn't pull out of your ass?

Those Indian workers are one of the main markets for all that gold, as a matter of fact, as their home government doesn't allow possession of gold except as jewelry. So a lot of their salary goes home as 18 kt bracelets and necklaces, a hedge against inflation. And when they retire and leave Dubai for good, those Indian workers are rich by the standards of their home town. It's why they fight to get to Dubai, where they earn ten times what they could at home.

And nobody is beaten or killed. But you keep telling yourself that they are, because of some hatchet piece you read.
