I'm smirking... But what the hey, she FINISHED! Good on her.

2010-11-10 02:38:13 PM
Ouch. Looks like she had a pretty bloody knee after the first fall. Kudos for finishing.

/still laughed.

2010-11-10 02:52:19 PM
Ouch. I cringed. Still, I think the fact that she kept going is what the video was trying to get at. The video was called "the courage to continue," not "the amazing girl who jumps really well."

2010-11-10 02:58:52 PM
White women can't jump?

2010-11-10 03:03:31 PM
Had she ever jumped over a hurdle before?

Two of these kids are not like the others...

Some videos are worth watching.

This is one of them.

That's one tough girl.

Remember...

Losing only lasts one day...

Having a video of you on the internet losing last forever.

I'm thinking that was intramural track, given that no one was wearing spikes, and the rules for track are pretty firm that you can't wear sweats during a race. Also the bad form is another hint.

2010-11-10 04:39:49 PM
for later..

best video if the week

Not often does a fark headline actually live up to its claims... This one did.

2010-11-10 05:19:21 PM
heh....I've had weeks like that. Still laughed.

2010-11-10 05:20:17 PM
That girl is lame. I coached a girl who was actually a decent hurdler but landed poorly coming over one, she fell, smashed her head onto the track and got up and finished the race.

Only later did we find out that she had gotten a concussion and ended up missing a month of school because she couldn't spell her name or count to 10.

Let's see subby's fat ass hop an ottoman.

She actually just runs around a hurdle at one point. I had to rewind to make sure I wasn't seeing something. Hilarious indeed.

I guess everyone needs to be 'special'

2010-11-10 06:51:26 PM
I laughed, but good on her for finishing it anyway.

/I particularly lol'd at the guy supervising wincing when she went down.

halfway through I would've said fark it and gone to smoke a joint

I think she did that before the race.

makes sense, she caught a bad case of dorito-itis and couldn't focus on the race, happens to the best of us

I didn't find that video to be funny. I found myself rooting for them.

2010-11-10 07:28:19 PM
She'd probably kick my ass at hurdles.

2010-11-10 07:39:56 PM
Coach is bad for making them compete in hurdles if they can't do it. Give them more practice. Put it an inch lower and she'd be fine. She looks nervous as hell, because she knew she couldn't do it.

2010-11-10 08:08:59 PM
Sorry, but I doubt this was a track meet.

More likely it was a PE class, and the idiot instructor made them run the hurdles.

Lame video. None of those girls were on the track team, thus had no expectation to perform remotely well on the hurdles - an entirely pointless (almost to the point of being mean) activity inflicted upon students who had no desire, or ability to run it.

What's next? videos of fat people trying to do pull-ups? Maybe an 80 yer old grandmother running a marathon? How about grabbing random strangers off the street and forcing them to fly airplanes? That would be hilarious!

2010-11-10 08:11:00 PM
Meh.
The on on FHV about 20 years ago where the guy nails EVERY SINGLE HURDLE was better.

INeedAName: Only later did we find out that she had gotten a concussion and ended up missing a month of school because she couldn't spell her name or count to 10.

If she couldn't spell her name or count to 10, you really shouldn't have let her miss any more school.

2010-11-10 08:24:22 PM
Pretty sure she was balling right after that.

2010-11-10 08:31:00 PM
By the third faceplant, all I could think was how it looked like an insurance nightmare waiting to happen. They still run hurdles, but for some reason you're not allowed to play dodgeball anymore. The mind boggles.

2010-11-10 08:42:49 PM
lol her mom is posting on Youtube

@huntert545 I am the parent. I helped coach her and she did great. The courage it took complete the race is immeasurable. It is one of her greatest moments. Sorry you didn't see it that way.

FAIL @ coaching and lol @ "greatest moments"

At some point, I think everyone will understand when you admit to yourself you suck at what you're doing and walk away in defeat. I know we're all supposed to see something like that and go, "Wow, even when they have absolutely no skill at what they're doing at all, it's amazing they continue to hurt and embarrass themselves.", when in fact what most people think is "Christ, go get some practice and try again before you break something you dumbass.".

The school leaves ridiculous obstacles on the track where people are supposed to run and it's the girl's fault that things don't go well? Are they trying to invent a new sport where runners are expected to deal with random crap that's left in their way?
