It seems that prostitutes don't appreciate being objectified.

"We provide a service, not a commodity," says a woman who calls herself Air Force Amy, 37.

Using a name like that guarantees that she'll be objectified.

2003-06-28 03:39:11 PM
Most strippers tell me they are doing it to pay for school, so I guess it makes sense.

2003-06-28 04:04:52 PM
I wonder how this will affect Human Development/Sex Ed classes?

"Children... Today we have a special guest who helps pay for your education. She's going to be teaching you how you can help pay for education as soon as you turn 18!"

"Every time a hooker moans, we can buy more school supplies!"

2003-06-28 04:05:17 PM
And today, kids, we're taking a field trip to our school's largest fund raiser. Johnny, you behave now.

2003-06-28 04:05:22 PM
Heh, well if its for a good cause... why not? Heh, do it for the children... so timmy can get a new text book.

2003-06-28 04:06:02 PM
10,000 to 50,000 a month?

Damn, that's a lot.

2003-06-28 04:06:32 PM
LOOOOOOOL "do it" for the children.

2003-06-28 04:06:42 PM
No, the IRONY is that, under Bush's "No Child Pulls Ahead" school finance program, to see any Federal tax breaks these Nevada schools could only teach their children Abstinence-Only sex ed.

So, so right on.

2003-06-28 04:09:34 PM
yet more lame ass use of the ironic tag

2003-06-28 04:14:11 PM
Actually, the guy that used to own them until the feds put him out of business on trumped up tax charges gave millions to schools and charities. He was beloved in his part of Nevada. Then some bluenose at the IRS got a hard-on and wrecked everything. Eventually the feds were in the prostitution business, but like everything else the touch it turned into a money loser. Just like in states where you have to buy the liquor at state-run stores. They lose money too. How stupid do you have to be NOT to make money on liquor and prostitution? Government stupid.

2003-06-28 04:18:45 PM
At least you can still kill kittens in Nevada without being taxed. Until they figure out how to tax that too.

2003-06-28 04:24:44 PM
"Children, this is Miss Crystal. Her blow jobs have helped provide us with this lovely globe today. Let's give her a hand."

2003-06-28 04:25:14 PM
Say NO to Booty Tax!!

2003-06-28 04:25:36 PM
what bothers me is that :

"So renowned is his establishment, opened in 1955, that Hof says he is considering a run for president of the United States."

"In addition to being a syndicated radio and cable television personality, Hof, 56, is the proprietor of the Moonlite Bunny Ranch, Nevada's oldest modern brothel, tucked behind an industrial park on the outskirts of town."

proprietor:

1. One who has legal title to something; an owner.
1. One who owns or owns and manages a business or other
such establishment.

born in 2003-56 = 1947, brothel opened in 1955.

so either he opened a brothel when we was 8, making him the coolest kid in the universe, or the journalists need to be more clear in their writing

Some kids get an early start in life.

Why not combine prostitution with education, in an easier fashion? All you need to do is get yourself a copy of Velvet Jones' book, "I Wanna Be a Ho."

WARNING: No refunds allowed if "da biatch ugly."

i guess that this lame ass attempt at irony is to counterbalance the most awesome irony tag use EVER earlier today

2003-06-28 04:33:23 PM
forgive me for not having sympathy for someone whining about more taxes who makes 10-50 grand a month for having sex...

Maybe he bought it from someone else?

Or it's a Family business and he inherited it?

Or he was just a horny little kid with a "can-do" spirit?

Either way, I agree it was shiatty writing.

2003-06-28 04:41:18 PM
legal in other states????what other states..im moving

2003-06-28 04:46:25 PM
This deservred the ironic tag?

2003-06-28 04:49:12 PM
Um, no, that's not ironic. Not even in an Alanis Morisette sort of way.

Air Force Amy was on the HBO special about the Moonlite BunnyRanch, which I'm sure has boosted her income. (Some of her NSFW pics are here). I'd like her to explain how the double taxation she's talking about is "unconstitutional," because I bet people who work in the tobacco, liquor, and gambling industries, among others, would love to hear about it.

2003-06-28 04:52:39 PM
Has anyone ever gotten layed by promising, "Plates and cups from midnight snacking, taped episodes of the Golden Girls and a body pillow shaped like a catfish" in their bedroom?

2003-06-28 04:54:36 PM
No, somebody submitted this with the ironic tag to mess with you people. Nobody with half a brain would think this is ironic.

2003-06-28 05:01:44 PM
It's somewhat ironic that Fark's irony tag is never used on anything remotely ironic.

2003-06-28 05:05:00 PM
Muta....forgot the vomit lining the floors and walls....

2003-06-28 05:06:24 PM
Nobody with half a brain would think this is ironic.

You do realize that means a large percent of farkers would therefore consider it totally appropriate, right? ;-)

2003-06-28 05:10:45 PM
Wow, "how gays do it" is a deletable post offense?

Nice.

All the oral reports you could handle

2003-06-28 05:12:17 PM
The irony is that the poster doesn't understand the definition of irony.

2003-06-28 05:19:37 PM
Add my voice to the chorus of those who claim that this is not ironic, please.

thanks.

2003-06-28 05:27:17 PM
They'd pull in more dough with a masturbation tax.

Man.. I wish I had a knife instead of these ten thousand spoons, too.

This is not new news!

In the history of the city of Seattle, the first public schools were financed by the "seamstresses," madams and "working women." Since all the monied peoples sent their kids to exclusive schools, someone had to provide for all the other children, and those women, who had the money and influence (they also quietly funded other civic projects and loans), stepped up to the plate.

Also, Asa Mercer, the first president of the University of Washington, went east to find some women for all the logging men and outfitters in the growing city and only found two who were wlling to come to Seattle. When he went south to San Francisco, he returned with 25 women! This makes him the first Procurer of women in Seattle, of sorts. There are streets and the like named after him. Suggested reading: Sons of the Profits by William Speidel.

2003-06-28 06:01:07 PM
You mean like how the Ohio Lottery funds schools?

2003-06-28 06:32:40 PM
more irony: Given the level of education american schools give, the girls who graduate will only be qualified for the brothel.

They pay for, then they get the students....

2003-06-28 06:47:47 PM
whats wrong with strippers? ;)

2003-06-28 07:21:20 PM
Irony can be pretty ironic.

The schools will be teaching abstinence-Only sex ed. Of course! Why do it when you're under 18 for free? Wait a few years and make the big bucks!

/yes I know, hand my my basket I know where I'm going

2003-06-28 08:10:02 PM
One would think that with all the billions from other "entertainment" going through Vegas and Reno, that there should be plenty of opportunities to grab a bit for education.

I recall seeing some documentary on TLC about the early days of Vegas and how Organized crime was running the casinos, hotels, cops and influencing government. Perhaps this has something to do with it?

2003-06-28 08:25:32 PM
It's ironic because schools educate children not only in academics, but also in behavior and morality.

The fact that prostitution could fund this is ironic.

2003-06-28 09:37:22 PM
I've been staring at my monitor too long because I keep seeing the headline as "Neville brothers could finance schools".

/need a Neville Bros. tag

2003-06-28 09:44:59 PM
Sinatra-- nice try, but I ain't buying it. Where is this public school that teaches "behavior and morality?"

2003-06-28 10:46:27 PM
JohnTabin: There isn't literally a curriculum; the behavior lessons come through whatever type of discipline procedure the school has set up, and the morality lessons come through reading literature, discussing it in class, as well as teachers hopefully living exemplary lives worthy of being imitated (morality-wise).

Although this thread is probably dead, I've got one question. How much do these girls charge? I saw this (NSFW) one and nearly flipped.

so either he opened a brothel when we was 8, making him the coolest kid in the universe, or the journalists need to be more clear in their writing

Or maybe, just maybe, he bought the place from the original owner.

Proprietor != founder
