He wins an award. He mocks the people who gave him the award. He spray-paints the award.

I think I want to receive this guy's newsletter.

Ah, how nice to see society endorse property vandals.
I'm sure small business owners and property managers are thrilled.

Screw graffiti "artist". The only thing they acomplish is to make our suburban areas look like shiat. If caught they should be sent to prison, be made to clean up graffiti for years as a community service and then when they finally get out of jail let them pay back the owners of the property they destroyed.
If they get caught a second time why not remove their "trigger" finger? That ought to stop them.

Nice troll, but I'll bite. If I were a business owner and this guy put up one of his pieces on the wall of my building unnannounced, it would become part of my marketing plan.

There's a difference between this guy and douchebag teenage ghetto rats who scrawl StreatKINGZZZ on an overpass.

If it's already blighted, a little artwork can't hurt. Large sections of Detroit for example.

Some of them, yes. Others, like Banksy? I kind of appreciate their work. Yes, they're making significant alterations to facades without permission. But their work makes you take a second look, makes you think, and may even improve your outlook. (But not your Outlook; nothing can fix that.)

If caught they should be sent to prison, be made to clean up graffiti for years as a community service and then when they finally get out of jail let them pay back the owners of the property they destroyed.

"Destroyed?" Hyperbole much? I eagerly await your justification for the usage of this word to describe the effect a bit of spray paint has on a piece of real estate.

Yeah, 1% of these 'artists' are a Bansky.

The rest of the vandals use the credibility granted to the likes of Bansky to shoplift Tremclad from the Home Depot and spray gang tags and 'FARK DA POLICE' in fat letters all over buildings, mailboxes, playground slides etc.

I love to see someone create chemically reactive bricks to deter spray painters.

If Rawry's pics represent this guy's work, I'd cut him some slack. A lot of slack. He's not your run-of-the-mill tagger. Keith Haring started out in a similar fashion, then went on to be quite successful. (Of course, he ended up with teh aidz, but that's a different story.)

It would be better if guys like this worked with the owners' permissions, but I think that goes against their street cred. That sucks, because I think if blighted cities worked with real street artists to bring a little art to otherwise bleak cityscapes, only good things would come from it.

It's probably less than that. Pity that the ones with talent will forever be lumped in with the taggers and gangstas marking their territories because they don't want to work with property owners and city officials to beautify their surroundings.
