one of two, and they're both signature NHL arena goal-scorin' songs:

1. Gary "kid hitter" glitter - R&R pt. II - played whenever the Maple Leafs Score

2. "Whoomp! There it is" - dunno the artist - played whenever the Red Wings score

So as you can imagine, the latter recieves a LOT more airtime...

FarkerJew: What you're thinking of is the Alan Parson Project's "Eye in the Sky," or just the opening, rather. That song was damn near used by everyone, even Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat. Which reminds me, the theme from "2001" is great at sporting events. If nothing else, I always think that, regardless of the sport, Ric Flair is about to step on the playing field and take people to school. Admit it, I'm not the only one here, people? Right?

I don't know what the best one is, but I can tell you what the worst one is. The theme from "Friends." I worked in a minor league ballpark the summer that song was popular. I heard it every night at least four or five times. The song has nothing to do with baseball or sports or getting fired up or anything, but they still played it all the damn time, all summer long.

I dunno how common it is around the country, but at Lobo games they play the "DO YA FEEEELLLL AAAAALLLLLLRRRIIIIIIGHHHHHHHTTT?!?!?!" song before tipoff.

It's basically the theme from Mortal Kombat with 'do ya feel alright?' at the beginning.

I'm going to have it played at my funeral.
