They played "If I had a Million Dollars" at the Fleet the night Sergei Samsanov fulfilled a contract goal and got $1 million bonus

but I'd go with

"Hit Somebody (The Hockey Song)" by Warren Zevon

Hey Fightin' Tiger by The Golden Band from Tigerland. Always a hit.own_Figh t_Song.mp3'_Tigers.mp3

Mr. Crichton you're wrong!!!
2003-06-26 04:49:24 PM

It was Iggy Pop. Song kicks ass.
2003-06-26 04:49:32 PM
Hang On Sloopy by the McCoys...if you don't know which song I'm talking about, then you have never been to a school game in Ohio (especially OSU, who actually has this on their website...)

So, vote for me, and vote for Ohio's official Rock Song (and best stadium song)

Damn how I hate "Who let the dogs out". Worst. Song. ever.
2003-06-26 04:52:56 PM
I voted for "Black Betty" I can't believe I didn't think of that one.

And... BTW, Beemer, Iggy Pop sings "Lust for Life"
2003-06-26 04:52:57 PM
Beemer, that'd be Iggy Pop. Great choice.
2003-06-26 04:53:08 PM

I'm looking... I've been through all the jock jams songs on and haven't found it yet. :)

This is the one that immediately came to mind, but I have no idea what it would be called... other than "HEY!"
2003-06-26 04:54:15 PM
New york New York, in New york of course
2003-06-26 04:54:30 PM
A few ideas:

The Who - The Kids Are Alright
Peter Frampton - Do You Feel Like We Do
ZZ Top - Legs (what farker isn't a sucker for a nice pair of stems?)
Cheap Trick - Surrender
And finally, because I can toot my own horn if I want...
Tempered Edge - It's Alright (Click Here to listen...

kaikhor: Good call. Though I've never been to any games in Ohio, it's a great tune. My mom had it on vynil
2003-06-26 04:54:48 PM
That's easy: "Mandatory Suicide" by Slayer

It doesn't get played that often for some reason...
2003-06-26 04:54:56 PM
University of Florida... "Gator Country" by Molly Hatchet.
2003-06-26 04:55:25 PM
Easy - "Sha Na Na Na" at Comiskey.

(disclaimer: some of these are pretty sport-specific)

Are You Ready For This? by 2 Unlimited

Centerfield by John Fogarty

Walk of Life by Dire Straits (just watch the video)

Misirlou (the Pulp Fiction theme) by Dick Dale and Lose Yourself by Eminem are great warm-up songs

Crazy Train by Ozzy (although people are sick of it now because of the TV show)

Pressure by Billy Joel

All Star by Smash Mouth

Start Me Up by the Stones

Glory Days by Bruce Springsteen (although hardly anyone actually understands what the song is really about)

"???? Umm... Lola is about a transvestite. Maybe you weren't paying attention to the lyrics. Unless that's what you mean by your statement... the grammar is pretty horrible, I wasn't sure what you meant by it."

Jeebus, I would have never known Lola was a transvestite, even though they play that friggin song only 10,000 times on classic rock stations. I meant to say:

"Lola by the Kinks.

I mean really, how do you know whether the pretty girl next to is really a girl unless she flashes her jumbos on the Jumbotron."
Any better ? Man, let's beat the dead horse.

2003-06-26 04:58:37 PM
whatever song they are playing when the Mav's dancers come out.
2003-06-26 04:58:58 PM
"Urban Clearway" by Saint Etienne would be the best best intro song ever, if anyone would think of using it.
2003-06-26 04:59:25 PM
Hey SuperiorWang, shouldn't be Bck dich instead? Makes more sense then Du Hast.
2003-06-26 04:59:31 PM
You... know, TOM JONES covered the song "Black Betty".

Click link to the Black Betty video in the News box (right of screen)
2003-06-26 05:01:22 PM
skinink, oh... ok. That makes more sense. I wasn't saying you didn't know what it was about, it's just that the way you wrote it confused me. (If she was a man, why would she have the boobies?)

If the "Hey Song" you guys are looking for is the same one posted by disord3r, then you're talking about an instrumental version of Gary Glitter's "Do You Wanna Touch Me (Yeah!)". :)
2003-06-26 05:03:41 PM
"I'm a Stinky Barnyard Piggy" is pretty popular here in Montana. But you know, the bar is a little lower, since we don't have any professional teams.
2003-06-26 05:05:58 PM
They always play the intro to Marilyn Manson's "Beautiful People" at the beginning of Capitals game. While I'm not a fan of the song, it does set the mood for a nice hockey ass-whopping.

Other ideas:
Filter- Hey man, nice shot
Nirvavna - Territorial Pissings (i think I was the only person at the game to recognize that one)
QOTSA: You think I ain't worth a dollar but I feel like a millionaire
Ramones - I believe in Miracles
2003-06-26 05:06:59 PM
"if i didn't have a goiter" - johnny socko
2003-06-26 05:07:20 PM
Rock and Roll All Night - By KISS. The version with the special thing at the beginning, anyone know what I'm tlaking about?

I hear it on the radio all the time but I can't find it to download, anyone have it?
2003-06-26 05:08:48 PM
Tom Sawyer
2003-06-26 05:09:21 PM
I think you mean "Der, der, daderdaderder... HEY! Der, der, daderdaderder... HEY! whumpawhumpawhumpawhump." At least that's what I call it.
2003-06-26 05:09:34 PM
Iron Man

I cant believe this hasn't been said yet.

2003-06-26 05:09:53 PM
Van Halen - Jump (as mentioned in someone else's), but for the memories... HERE COME YOUR WINNNNNNIPEG JETS!!!!!
2003-06-26 05:11:18 PM
A while back Drew had The D4 link on the home page. I thought they were pretty good. One night I was out at Best Buy and they had the CD for like $5.99, so I picked it up. It is one of my favorite albums. Its a kick-a$$, driving around with the windows down in the summer, turn up the volume CD. I recomment it to everyone.
2003-06-26 05:11:26 PM
The intro to U2's "Where the Streets Have No Name"
2003-06-26 05:12:32 PM
I have fond memories of "Rock & Roll Part II" being played at the final game of the NBA Championships the Bulls won here in Chicago.

(...All SIX of them, Lakers/Spurs/etc. fans)
2003-06-26 05:12:43 PM
Sorry if it's taken already (showing my "age" already):

So you think you're bad, with your rap
Well I'll tell ya pilgrim I started the crap
When you were in diapers and wetting the sheets
I was at the Ponderosa rapping to the beat

Da haahh, da haahh
Da ha-hahh ha-hahh haahh

Is this site somehow using crazy voodoo-magic to find out where I live? Cuz I'm about 99% sure that's the SkyDome in Toronto. That's just not a very conventional stadium for a big American site like ESPN to be using in their big graphic. Even more surprising is that there's PEOPLE in the seats of the SkyDome. This must be an old image.
2003-06-26 05:13:42 PM
Queen's "We Will Rock You / We are the Champions" double single, of course. There is no discussion of the matter because it is simply an undeniable FACT. :)
2003-06-26 05:14:12 PM
Mick Foley's theme song. I realize this nomination with draw ire.
2003-06-26 05:14:22 PM
The Peoria Rivermen (IHL/ECHL) always used to play Cab Calloway's "Minnie the Moocher" during breaks in play. This might sound funny, but it was an amazing song in terms of crowd participation... I still get chills thinking back to 10,000 people belting out the chorus to that. =)
2003-06-26 05:16:55 PM
Smashing Pumpkins - Today

They used it once to during a broadcast of the US Open (Golf). Gave me goosebumps. Then again, I'm an avid golfer so....
2003-06-26 05:17:40 PM
Frank Black's "Headache", especially for hit batters in baseball, after a great hockey fight or a boxing match.

I like enter the sandman

For the last time, people, I let the dogs out. It was me. I take all the blame. Now you can stop asking in that horrible song. Forever.
2003-06-26 05:21:03 PM
I don't know if I'd call it the best, but it definitely deserves consideration...

Come Out And Play (Keep 'em Seperated)
