There's going to be a Vulcan in the next movie? Now it's ruined for me. Why bother even watching it when you just know sooner or later, there will be a Vulcan?

I read on another site that it would be set in space, too.

Thanks for unwantedly sexually contacting my childhood, Startrek!

With only a few thousand Vulcans left shouldn't the females be making with the babies instead of mucking about in space?

King Something: 299 die

Leonidas was the 300th man.

Earlier in the movie he tells the old senator "these 300 men are my personal body guards". So he would make 301. Then he sends eye-patch dude back to tell the story, bringing it down to 300.

/what?

Assuming she survived, T'Pol is probably too old to have babies.

DamnYankees: Isn't the opposite of a spoiler? What was spoiled?

Thanks to this article, I now know that there's going to be another Star Trek movie.

GODDAMNIT. THANKS A LOT, JERKS.

The last time I went to the movies I was blindfolded and had ear plugs. My friends brought me into the theatre and removed the blindfold just as the credits were starting. And then..."AWESOME! A NEW STAR TREK MOVIE!" I blurted out. Best. Movie experience. EVAR.

But now? Now I won't be surprised at all. I may never go to the movies ever again.

To be truthful, wouldn't this be an awesome experience? I wish it was possible.

Actually if this (and this is a HUGE supposition) means they are going Amok Time then this could be kind of cool. The villain would be... Spock.

I was talking with my three year old son a few months ago about Star Trek, and I asked him if he wanted to watch the new movie. He was interested, but first he had a couple questions for me.

Is Star Track a good guy?
-No, Star Trek is the name of the movie. It's not a person's name.

But is he a good guy or a bad guy?
-A trek is like a really long trip where you go out and look for something. You know that Backyardigans episode called Garbage Trek? It's like that. But this one is called Star Trek. They're out in space, among the stars.

Oh, ok.
*I put on the movie*

Then, about every character that is shown on screen for more than 5 seconds or so...

"Is that Star Track?"
-no, Star Trek is just the name of the movie.

"And he's a good guy?"
-Um...

Sybarite: With only a few thousand Vulcans left shouldn't the females be making with the babies instead of mucking about in space?

Perhaps that's part of it: as we're in an alternate universe where Vulcan has been destroyed, it would make sense for Spock to take a wife and produce (numerous and belligerent) children.

I saw The Matrix opening day. The trailers didn't lend any hints about the plot of the movie--just Morpheus talking, a little gunfire, and a crazy robot/monster. That was enough to make me go see it, and because I didn't know anything about it, it was one of the best movie-going experiences I've had.

//too bad they didn't make a sequel

I bet a young Captain Kirk and a young Spock show up in these movies. How's that for a spoiler?

I gave up on Star Trek during the Voyager years. Saw only two episodes of Enterprise. Haven't seen the last three seasons of Deep Space 9. I did download the new Star Trek movie. Saw 20 minutes of it and deleted it. Glad I didn't waste my hard earned money on that piece of crap.

/So am I now cool and trendy for posting this?

No you're a dumbass for not watching all of DS9. Obviously you made the right call on Voyager and Enterprise, though.
