If that link that jay_vee put up is correct, then I must agree with the fact she's a total biatch. Read that interview. It's horrible if it's true, and I think it is. Oh and Avril, P.S.

.. being extremely rude @ interview was mroe or less Johnny Rotten's bit. Nice job you farking poser

Actually, if you've ever worked with professional audio editing software, high end mixer boards, digital sound processors, and some really good acoustics, you can make anyone sound like an angel. Even with slick production though, you can tell every single bit that Avril slips up, and her live performances are greater testimony to her complete lack of talent. Like wise, the best singer can sound horribleif recorded with terrible equipment, dumb producers, bad acoustics.

Image, advertising, they have to do a lot with how well people make it in the industry. Look at Mandy Moore, Britney Spears, and Christina Aguilera. Mandy has no where near the marketing or media hype that Britney or Christina get. Mandy has no where near the attention Britney or Christina get. Yet Mandy can out sing either one, and can certainly act much better than all her singer to actor counterparts. Who gets more sales? Who is more popular? This question needs not to be answered.

And yes, if you had Avril's team behind you, then you would be every bit just as popular. Avril's CD used to get horrible reviews and would sell for $5 at music stores about a year and a half ago. The only people who liked her were internet saavy 12 year olds. Later on, marketing went full swing, the media hype started up, and suddenly every Radio Disney kid was singing "Skater Boy' and ranting about how talented Avril is.

"I am NOT a skank like Britney and Christina! And I'll show you my BUTT to prove it!"

2003-06-25 04:14:36 PM
Now I do like Avril, but I do recall she said in an interview not to long ago that she wasn't going to be like the rest of the female singers. WELL???

2003-06-25 04:30:16 PM
Okay, the article isn't loading so maybe that will explain it...but I watched the MMVAs and I don't recall this ever happening. Someome care to explain? Did they do a quick edit?

2003-06-25 04:30:23 PM
So what you're saying is that if I had people like the matrix behind me to write songs and a label to publish me, I could have numerous #1's and sell millions of records even though I can't sing a note?

well.... yes

wow, I've seen more posts disappear from this thread than all the rest of my time Farking put together

2003-06-25 05:25:15 PM
Poor Avril. Doesn't know that you have to start your career on the New Mouseketeer Show to have any credibility with Farkers.

2003-06-25 06:11:42 PM
Just to point this out one more time for people just skimming the thread, Avril hasn't written a song by herself- at least not one that's been released to the public. Her three biggest hits were written mostly by a songwriting team known as The Matrix, and her latest single was co-written by another guy.

She also doesn't act like a typical 18 year-old; she acts like a 12 year-old with ADD. Anyone see that Jane Pauley interview? She got her fingers caught in her shoelaces and couldn't look her in the eye when she talked.

hahaha yeah, Canada's better than America. Right.

That's why the whole world watches farkin' Canadian movies, Canadian TV shows, and listens to mostly Canadian music. Yeah, Canada's really well-known for their massive, super-powerful military and general technological superiority. It's a super-power, you know!!

God, shut up. It's laughable, this argument that Canada is in any way superior to the USA. It's like the little brother pouting after getting thrown across the living room by his older brother and then muttering under his breath "you're not so tough". Hah. But hey, there's no need for jealousy or nervousness. You're country's too darn cold. We don't want it. If we did, we'd friggin' have it already. The only part that was any good (oil) we already decided we wanted, so it's ours. You can have the rest of that friggin' iceburg. So, take it easy will ya?

Farkin' Canadiavanians get all riled up over nothing. "You are NOT better than us, America! You're not, you're not, you're not!!" hahah that's good stuff right there.

So...Today is what? "Talent-free musical fark" day on FARK? First M and M (without nuts) and now this Elvira wannabe?

Slow, slow day of FARK...

topic summary of facts:
avril sucks and is not hot (observe pic above without makeup.)
her music sucks and so does most other modern music.
she doesn't write her own songs (at least not the "good" ones.)
canada sucks.
america sucks.

there i think that covers about all of the truthful information here so far.

*runs to listen to some nice led zeppelin to end recollection of awful music*

These are the people who hate Avril Lavigne:

(1) Music nerds. All music nerds agree on what they don't like. Strangely, it's always what the mainstream public do like. Nobody but other music nerds cares what music nerds think.

(2) Jealous fat and/or ugly chicks. Girls, demeaning others won't do a damn thing to make you more attractive. If possible, it makes you less.

(3) Chubby chasers who think that everyone else should be a chubby chaser too, despite the consequences to their personal love life.

(4) Cranky old farts who hate everything young people do, like, or are, on principle. There is no lower age limit to be a cranky old fart.

I see dead people. No, wait, it's only their brains that are dead.

It would be awesome to do her in the ass, then, I dunno, get her to make me a cup of tea or something, only she would have to go into the kitchen on one of those little plastic tricycles. Then I'd throw her to the wolves.

You_mean_Im_gonna_stay_this_colorThe DVDA photoshopping absolutely rules. I'm gonna get in trouble for laughing out loud.

And after witty-name's post with those pics, there's only one thing to say to Avril haters:

2003-06-25 10:05:38 PM

aeschenkarnos: I am none of the above. I dislike Avril manily becuse I have a 14 year old around the house who loved her. I got so farking sick of it. Thanl god the kid has no attention span!

That and almost every time I see her photo she's making that "I'm so angry and punk" face. It's like that guy who always has to flip off the camera in every pic. Does everyone know that guy?

ok look back at the real avril pic posted by doubletwist above and I dare you to say that again and keep a straight face.

...rather sad..NIN needs a new cd.

LOL. Then listen for what KMFDM put out a year or two before you expect a NIN release. BTW, I do listen to both.

2003-06-25 10:11:31 PM
I like NIN and all, but don't you think Trent has become successful enough to stop whining?

Hell yea!

Yep, I know that Weird Al's interviews are put together from an existing interview. I just love the way he cuts them together to make the people look like jerks (more so than they already are, probably).

More technologically advance my ass.

2003-06-25 11:43:33 PM
My take on it:

1) She is not punk. It is doubtful she will ever be punk. It depends on exactly how much you think it's possible to claw your way free of corporate america.

2) The biggest difference I see between here and Canada is that they (Canada) have funny ways of pronouncing "o"s and we (America) are more aggressive. Politics in general have been humanity's sewer for at least the past seventy-five years, and tech development credits should go to individuals, not nations.

3) I would not hit it due to a deeply held paranoia which has served me well. Not fear of God, he's cool, and probably doesn't mind. No, it's well founded suspiscion of the depths my fellow humans can sink to.

4) I am trying to teach myself to play the guitar. I do so using real music, such as Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, and Pentatonic riffs. The day I stoop to manufactured pop-punk as "real music", I have a well-trained ninja standing by to slay me.

/psychotic rant.

anybody who likes really well written music should be listening to led zeppelin right now. I know I am.

I'd like to see him or buddy rich come back and kick these pop stars' asses.

No joke, GiantCowOfDeath. It took me a month to get the intro to "Over the Hills and Far Away" down, and I'm still working on the G to D to A chord riff. Page is incredible.

2003-06-26 12:55:16 AM
you wanna see incredible watch a buddy rich video (jazz drummer/child prodigy.)

you'll be wondering how what he does is humanly possible. I don't think i'll be trying to emulate his solos anytime soon. err... more like ever.
