Meh, the last girl I dated did this. It wasn't "hot," but she was pretty cute and it didn't stop me from getting a boner or anything.

While I have seen some ugly women with hairy armpits that made them look even worse, I have yet to meet one whose hairy armpits changed my opinion of her between positive and negative.

The only thing I strongly encourage women to shave is their moustaches

Whatever. In the winter I let my pits grow out. The only time I'm even a little self-conscious is in yoga class.

There are a lot of days where I just don't think it's worth it and say "F*ck it". Oh the legs stay good and smooth, but the armpits I think are okay to let go for a while.

Count me in for the "bush needs to make a comeback" camp. You're not 12 anymore. Grow up, and accept it.

I wish I could pull this off, but armpit hair looks disgusting when you're so white that you're approaching albino.

I will confess to not caring about shaving my legs more than once a week. This is why I'm slowly lasering everything off. It's worth it to not have to bother with shaving for a while.

Oh, and anti-bush camp. Although full Brazilian and landing strip are taking things too far, there is no way I'm putting my face near some 80s Demi Moore-style bush.

It's alright. I don't see the big deal. I just don't want hair on the face, chest, shoulders, and back. Thank you.

Well you see, I've personally always had trouble growing facial hair...

Interesting story: I was hanging with some people from school and the subject of body hair came up. There was many things said about it, and a lot of women were talking about their armpit hair and how sexy it was to have 'a natural scent' and such. Finally, I decided to try the waters:

"So, ladies, what do you think about back hair?"

Nothing kills the conversation faster than back hair. If you ever get into a situation where you're dealing with people enjoying their breaking of social taboo with body hair, bring up back hair. Nine out of ten women will want it gone, and that whole body hair thing comes to a stop.

I'm not saying it's right or wrong, and everybody deserves to be liked for what they are. But to pretend that women are somehow nonjudgmental about some aspects of male body hair is a bit silly.

NO, NO, NO, NO, NO! Hairy armpits are not acceptable. Nor are hairy legs on women. Also, you better keep that p*ssy shaved enough so that on close inspection I could confuse you for a 14 year old. What the hell is wrong with people?

2010-10-19 11:54:53 PM
The legs I'll let go for a few days in the winter, but the pits get a quick swipe with the razor every day. Other areas are groomed to modest neatness. Different strokes for different folks, and all, but as a woman who has extremely thick and curly hair on my head, I'm afraid I'd be taken for a she-Yeti if not maintained.

I only watched the first season of "Survivor" but I understand that the contestants are only allowed a minimal number of personal items. Surely the producers don't count depilatory items since I don't recall seeing any of the women (not girls) looking hairy. I don't know any women that could go six weeks on an island and remain smooth all over.

Those women are stupid. I'd rather snuggle up to a soft, fuzzy back than get sandpapered by stubble or have him shell out $30 every few weeks to get it removed.

Bush: I've gone back and forth on the hairy/not hairy bush for years, but about 5 years ago I tilted towards hairy and have gotten to the point where I prefer it. Dunno why. Not completely unkempt mind you, but I'll take hairy over not hairy any day.

Pits: I don't mind it. My wife gave it a whirl last winter for the first time and I think it fell in the 'kinda hot because it's different' realm for a while, but I could honestly go either way on it. Whatever floats her boat.

Legs. I just can't get into the hairy leg thing. Never could. Can't explain why.

So I'm basically all over the place when it comes to the hairy/not hairy thing with women.

Over the years I've definitely moved towards the pro-bush camp, although mixing it up sometimes is nice; both have their advantages and disadvantages. Really, a nicely groomed but still fairly full one is the best.
Pits and legs I really don't care about, although I'll admit I don't have much experience on variations on that one.

Just a guess on the celebs -> they're busy, it doesn't matter in most scenes they film, and when it does matter, they can get it taken care of as soon before filming as posible (probably waxed) so it's as smooth as possible.

Back in the ole days (turn of the century 'merika)....the women that made it a point to shave their legs and armpits- were prostitutes.

The trend caught on when the good girls found out about this and wanted to keep themselves as hot as the "ladies of the night" the men were seeking.

It's not so much the hair thing as it is the confidence that comes with a woman having some body hair. If a woman was somewhat attractive and carried herself properly, but had a "comes with the package" attitude; no man would run away.

Problem is that most of the women who don't shave are the female equivalent of men who wear sweat pants in public. They've just completely given up.

Sorry ladies, in my opinion armpit hair on women just isn't feminine.
Stubbly legs are fine and I prefer a trimmed bush over shaved smooth, but I find women's armpit hair to be a huge turn off.

my ex bf had back hair (Sicilian)and I really didn't have a problem with it at all. And I found his furry mat of chest hair sexy. What can I say, I like men. Men are often hairy. It's all good.

still going to keep my pits shaved though...probably
