Could this mean the re-appearance of Bagdad Bob?

"There never was a convoy! The infidels have met there match!"

Christ, the Bush Administration lies to us on a daily basis and twice on the Sunday news shows. Why has the media stopped mentioning that the Bush team is backing off the mobile biological weapon trailers as evidence of WMD.

because idiots buy the media spin. They hear this "evidence of mobile labs" and never bother to actually look into it anymore. Then they think it is the truth because they never hear the media admitting they were wrong! Propaganda... it's nice to know you are just as bad as your enemy

One step forward, two steps back. Jeebus everytime this happens. This is turning into 'Mambo #5'

A little bit of Saddam in my life,
A little bit of Osama by my side;
A little bit of WMD is all i need,
A little bit of Mustard Gas is what I see;
A little bit of Republican Guards in the sun,
A little bit of Al Quaida all night long;
A little bit of Jessica Lynch here i am,
A little bit of misinformation makes me your man;
Mistake #5 !

I don't see what all the fuss is about. We got all of the WMDs didn't we?

2003-06-24 01:05:19 PM
Saddam and his sons are vacationing in the south of France. Duh.

2003-06-24 01:07:01 PM
Quick. Someone post boobies and/or a picture of someone getting kicked in the crotch to calm the fevered tempers that are about to engage in another predictable flamewar.

Boot production is up. Chocolate rations are at an all time high.

2003-06-24 01:08:16 PM
You know what this is leading up to, don't you?

In three weeks we'll realize that we accidentally missed Iraq and invaded New Mexico.

"We will not tolerate these actions by Syr--er, Ariz--ah, never mind."

Isn't the media's traditional role to keep score on crap like this and then ask some tough questions about it?

Most of the ridiculous crap that has happened to this country since 9/11 can be traced directly to the media's resigning their job as the watchdog of freedom, and taking up their new post as administration lapdog.

2003-06-24 01:12:58 PM
In other news, Elvis Presley is dead. I mean is it any surprise that the Pentagon is lying. It's a good thing that other countries are honest and their media is completely unbiased.

Christ, the Bush Administration lies to us on a daily basis and twice on the Sunday news shows.

I know. Why can't they live up to the integrity of the Nixon, Carter, Reagan, and Clinton administrations?

Anything that people say is going to sound like conspiracy wacko talk. HAHA. They win again, whoever 'they' are.

The problem with Big Brother is that you never know where to send the congratulations card. He doesn't really have an address.

Where have you been?? The only tough questions the "liberal" media asked were about Clinton. Nothing with Iran-Contra, nothing with Bush and his ties to big business and possibly illegal activities with selling stocks, etc. Oh and don't forget that whole ignore the results of the recount and the felons list, the GOPs sucessful bid to remove many military ballots while the press blamed Gore... etc. etc. etc.

I know. Why can't they live up to the integrity of the Nixon, Carter, Reagan, and Clinton administrations?

Nixon? Deserved it
Reagan? Should have been impeached, conservative media downplayed everything
Carter... ??? Exactly what did he do to cause the integrity of the Presidency to lower?
Clinton .... yeah, he lied about a BJ, big farking deal. The fact that the GOP spent 10 years investigating everything that turned out to be false was disgusting, that lowered the integrity level, don't blame Clinton for being a human.

2003-06-24 01:19:03 PM
Good grief! I thought you had to have a brain to work at the Pentagon.

2003-06-24 01:19:11 PM
Man, NBC's new realiy programming is really getting under everyones skin. Can you imagine what it would be like of Survivor Iraq was actually real...what's that...oh fudge.

myname:

I think the point is the US says it is BETTER than those other lying nations. Of course, all governments have to spin the news to their benefit. We should just acknowledge that and move on instead of saying that they (Iraq, Iran, Middle East, Russia, etc) are lying and we are telling the truth.

Nixon, got what he deserved (impeached), Carter was a great person, horrible president (didn't elected for second term), I don't know what the hell happened with Regan but he lied to us about Iran Contra if I recall, Clinton was a smart man with little to no morals on sex. Not too bad in my book to lie about a blowjob, but perjury is perjury. Bush is lying about WAR. Me thinks it is a little different than most of the others except Nixon. Of course, this is all just my sheltered little opnion and I will take it with me next Nov in the voting booths.

Is there an emoticon that signifies ennui combined with disgust? :-/ maybe?

:-/ There. Now it's up to you farkers to decide at what or at whom that is directed. To reference A Man For All Seasons: I trust I've made myself obscure. Need I say More?

Oh, that's right. You don't need to spell to start a flame war.

I love Big Brother, er President Bush

Maybe they were trying to create another Gulf of Tonkin incident to provide a reason to invade Syria and then they got cold feet.

Does anyone remember that?

2003-06-24 01:31:38 PM
People, once upon a time providing the news was the purpose of TV news programs and newspapers. Today, selling products for their parent companies is the purpose of these same industries. The dollar has triumphed over truth, what people want to hear is more profitable than what they need to hear...

Nobody wants "true news". In fact, most of today's youth don't even know what "true news" is. A truly unbiased news report would look much like a statistic chart. All facts, little description and no opinion.

That type of news cannot make a viable profit in today's society. People want drama. They want to feel that theres someone out there who is worse off than they are. The day "true news" stopped was the day one civilization went to war with the another. Each and every government fears what might happen if their citizens new the facts about everything. Just look at Nazi Germany or an Iraq lead by Saddam.

For a long lasting peace, people need access to what is true and what is cheerleading.

Geez, before you know it, our troops will be occupying land from the Mediterranean to the Indian Ocean.

Republican foreign policy is terrible.

They were probably trying to smuggle the stolen WMDs across the Syrian border. That's why we haven't been able to find any.

2003-06-24 01:38:18 PM

Carter worked hand in hand with the Soviets in a campaign of lies meant to topple the Shah of Iran's throne. And if you think that he was honest because he didn't get caught much, well, I've got some land to sell you....

And I don't think Clinton was a bad guy. I'm just fed up with people crucifying Bush Jr. for the same things that most administrations have been guilty of. Some of you guys act like the govt has never lied to us when in fact this is not a recent phenomenon. I'm not a big fan of Bush, but he's not worse than any other president. They're all pretty much worthless, along with most other politicians.

This isn't just an American theme, either. Funny how the American govt. gets raked across the coals for the same things other govts are doing.

Does any one else find these threads annoyingly predictible and boring? "Blah..blah, I'm young and I'm angry at the government for not being perfect like me, blah..blah!"

Where does the US Military get their Intel? Seems like they just wiped out a bunch of sheep herders and smugglers. Shouldn't they be a little more careful exercising lethal force?

Killing innocent Iraqis doesn't seem like a likely method for winning over their hearts and minds.

Looks like the Army attacked a bunch of sheep smugglers

2003-06-24 01:46:49 PM
I thought it was (nu)clear that we found OBL, Saddam, and the WMD even before Sept 11 ever happened. This revisionist history that the Pentagon is attempting to inflict upon us is just flat out wrong.

All that matters is that we can trust the president because he is honest and whatever he says is gospel

/god bless us all

2003-06-24 01:47:27 PM
C'mon, guys, cut 'em some slack. We needed someone to use all these really cool weapons on, someone who wouldn't really matter in the grand scheme of things. And if it was someone with something that we want, well then so much the better.

So we send in the troops and let them shoot their neat weapons and blow up some sand. Give the rest of the world an excuse because they'll forget about it as soon as we start dictating our terms to them as the biggest economic power in the world (France is already sucking it).

So they shot a few guys. Big deal. That's what Rumsfeld told them to do. The spin is easy to make up. But finding targets that you can shoot at with the new Megatronix ZTI-1193 Arid Plain Assault Cannon and the Warmonger 4XLAD All-Terrain Climbing Car/Truck/Thingee.

We've gotta use these toys up, don't you see? We have to protect our way of life and keep making more and better weapons so that we can keep the soldiers interested when they're sitting out in the desert all day.

So to sum up, we're there because we need to use these new weapons to keep the guys who are there occupied.

/circular logic. And sarcasm.
