So they've decided to eat roadkill. Woohoo. We've been doing that for years, and we didn't have to commission a big study first.

/welcomes you to Tennessee

2003-06-24 09:43:00 AM
I would've thought the answer would involve bukkake.

Nothin says lovin like blubber in the oven

2003-06-24 09:46:12 AM
That's one big piece of sushi.

Joshg - Yeah, you figure an article on Manichi that mentions sperm whales would involve some type of reference to bukakke.

It's one of life's certainties that the japanese will always find a way to eat whales. Why are they always so nutts about it, is whale meat really really nice?

2003-06-24 09:50:02 AM
Does it really count as sushi if they are eating a mammal?

2003-06-24 09:50:16 AM

2003-06-24 09:51:54 AM
I've got an idea: The Japanese should get some heavy twine and about three hundred conspirators and go party with the dead whale ala "Weekend at Bernie's"...

2003-06-24 09:52:54 AM
a fun thing to do...
call PETA.

This is the shiat they live for and it gives them a good opportunity to look really stupid.

The Japanese seem to find any way they can to kill these animals. I remember the "scientific" rule they exploited. They can forego the anti-whaling laws for scientific purposes. They wanted to add 50 minke whales to the very low limit allowed to be whaled. The were denied and shortly thereafter annouced 50 more whales were killed for scientific reasons.

Iceland is worse. They joined the International Whaling Commission (which sets all these rules) under the provision that they will be ignoring the moratorium on global whaling.

Its people like these that make me want to build a small attack sub if I ever get rich.

2003-06-24 10:03:22 AM
Great, now the Japanese will be chasing whales to the shore.

2003-06-24 10:03:45 AM
What, no dynamite?

2003-06-24 10:04:23 AM
Yeah Albinoman is right it is questionable. Would you really try your hardest to save a cow if you got a big chunk of a juicy steak if it dies? This is basically so they can eat whales instead of saving them.

Pave the Whales

2003-06-24 10:08:05 AM
some whale meat

2003-06-24 10:08:22 AM
They will after all eat anything that walks, crawls, swims or floats. If it comes from the ocean it is fair game. Leave them alone and let them enjoy the wales.

2003-06-24 10:09:04 AM
Save the Whales

Eat beaver.

i blame mario, for cruelly walking on those whales' backs in SMB2. he set a bad example for an entire generation. not to mention his cruel subjection of yoshi.

2003-06-24 10:28:31 AM
albtraum: the word you are searching for is subjugation.

2003-06-24 10:29:52 AM
Fire up the pit, ice down the keg .. It's gonna be one hell of a beach party!

2003-06-24 10:31:50 AM

Does your minke bite?
No.
...
I thought you said your minke doesn't bite.
Tha't not my minke.

2003-06-24 10:32:51 AM
curses, beaten to the dynamite reference.

anyways, bigfatbuddhist gets my vote for best idea: The Japanese should get some heavy twine and about three hundred conspirators and go party with the dead whale ala "Weekend at Bernie's"...

RedEyedWings

"albtraum: the word you are searching for is subjugation."

actually, the word i was searching for is the word i used.

NOUN: SUBJECTION; dependence, dependency; subordination; thrall, thralldom or thraldom, enthrallment or enthralment, subjugation, bondage, serfdom; feudalism, feudality;...

but yours would work too.

2003-06-24 10:37:04 AM
Kinki U, where do I sign up

MasterBrembo, that's a whale sshark, wrong animal.

2003-06-24 10:39:49 AM
Love the reference Hornwrecker

2003-06-24 10:50:50 AM
redeyed

to tell you the truth, subjugation would probably be more precise than subjection when describing mario's sick relationship with yoshi, because subjugate means "put under yoke" and subject just means "cast down". but anyway...

and don't get me started on the tanooki suit...

2003-06-24 11:19:55 AM
Thanks, mattos...
