And, of course, they're consindering banning it because some idiots overdid it.

2010-10-16 11:16:44 AM
I just drank one of these last night so I'm getting a kick...

It was actually disgusting. Syrupy sweet, boozy in the worst sense. It was only a quartercheaper than a forty of olde english and has less alcohol in it because it was only 24 ounces, despite being 12%. I don't see how this stuff is catching on unless every boozer has an astonishing sweet tooth.

The_Original_Roxtar: i call that "breakfast"

Replace the three beers with three shots of vodka, the Red Bull with a shot of vodka, and the shot of espresso with a shot of vodka, and I'll agree with you.

On my campus, we make fun of people who drink this shiat. Pretty much marks you as a freshman or an eighth-year senior, desperately trying to relive his younger days.

Friday afternoon, my ass. I'll have a couple Tuesday morning.

2010-10-16 11:20:33 AM
I'll have two, please.

/No, I'll drink them here.

2010-10-16 11:20:42 AM
I'll have to keep this away from my girlfriend. She already acts like a crackhead when she drinks red bull and vodka.

Isn't alcohol a depressant? Wouldn't that counteract the effects of caffeine?

2010-10-16 11:25:55 AM
A "start" to Friday afternoon maybe.

browser_snake: Isn't alcohol a depressant? Wouldn't that counteract the effects of caffeine?

The caffeine hides the fact that the booze is making your body tired-so you're buzzed and ready to go for round 2(or 12).

This kinda thing rips you in half. Four Loko has no fun stage of drunkenness, unlike most other booze. And if you have one you're cursed with the syrupy taste for the rest of the night and you can't drink anything else. It's awful. If you're going to go cheap, get a four pack of tallboys.

2010-10-16 11:32:16 AM
Beer AND caffeine? I gotta pee just thinking about it.

Here's your target market:

Four Loko (new window)

/cue the "that's racist" kid
//Yes I've had them (blueberry, watermelon, lemonaide) and they are TERRIBLE

adenosine: I don't see how this stuff is catching on unless every boozer has an astonishing sweet tooth.

These are catching on because boozers can keep drinking after they have them. I know a person who buys these with a couple 18 packs of MGD. They stay up for about three days drunk off their ass. Dude who invented the energy drink/malt liquor drink should be kicked in the balls!

Stuff tastes terrible.

Does get you really farked up though.

If all these Farkers are only drinking 3 beers and some caffeine on a friday, I am really disappoint. I usually have taken out more than 3 beers in the AM on a friday.

2010-10-16 11:40:08 AM
Friend of mine runs a liquor store, manager not owner. He can't keep the stuff on the shelf. Of course this is a university town but he also mentioned that the kids buying this end up buying a bottle or more of something else. He is disgusted by the stuff but business is business and if he didn't carry it somebody else would.

Ooorrrr.....

You could just drink 3 shots of vodka and then drink a Red Bull and a cup of coffee to keep going.

/Although I drink at home, so what do I know?

"Since the beginning of the fall semester, officials at Ramapo College in Mahwah have seen 23 cases of students being hospitalized for excessive drinking, with a handful of them being tied to the energy drink Four Loko, also known as "blackout in a can."

Fuhking lightweights. I handle 3 of those Four Lokos whenever I get them, I imagine these kids probably had 5 or so if they had to be hospitalized. The lemonade one is delicious and packs 12% ABV that you can hardly taste.

2010-10-16 11:46:41 AM
Add some waffles, steak and french fries and you've got what I like to call 'The Undercard'.

2010-10-16 11:49:36 AM
That drink is pure evil. I had one raspberry lemonade, and was shocked at how quickly I felt it. I did some math out later and figured, if a decent beer is ~6% ABV, that can has about 4 beers in it, not to mention all the caffeine. Needless to say, I didn't go for round two.

The one good thing that came out of it was that I was able to fall asleep with all the caffeine still in my system, which might have let me had a lucid dream that night...

//yeah, yeah, yeah, CSB

3? If all the alcohol hasn't killed your brain cells, I think you should do some math.

Most wine has around 12% ABV, and 4-5oz of wine is considered one standard drink. If a can has 24oz, that's 5-6 drinks per can. You're having more than 15 drinks at a time, which is almost an entire fifth of liqour. Is that something to brag about on the internet?

high school kids buy this shiat because they can sneak it on the school bus and pretend its an energy drink.

I drank two of these while playing D&D last night and I swear to god it made me feel ok that I'm in my late twenties and every Friday night I enter a fantasy land of make believe to pretend that I'm a crappy bard in a traveling circus

so true subby except it's Saturday afternoon so... you were close.

That's because it's easier to ban something than to fix stupidity, such as those kids.

As far as I know, bragging about the amount of alcohol you drink is what made Fark what it is today.

I'm an alcoholic, and I've taken out more than a 5th of liquor at a time on numerous occasions.

I wasn't bragging, I was making an observation.

I don't drink regularly, but when I want to get crunk (as opposed to enjoying a drink) I Four Loco. Watermelon and lemonade are the best.

On my campus just about everyone drinks them. Which is saying quite a bit since there are 50,000 undergrads here.

They known it's designed so people can become intoxicated very quickly

Despite the grammar problems here, it's really not horrible. The sugar and other shiat makes me stop before the alcohol does, I'm usually good after a can and a few pitchers. Friends that are bigger men than me regularly down 3 on a given night, not including beers and liquor.

College Students Hospitalized After Downing Alcoholic Energy Drink

...Mercer said whenever a student drinks excessively and is determined to be a danger to themselves or others - that student is taken to the hospital as a precaution...

As someone who was hospitalized from blacking out at work, I can say f*ck off. Someone freaking out about your intoxication =/= needing medical attention.

Hell, when I used to have no reason to be up early most days I loved Jaeger Bombs. Drunk and wide awake.

Wow, so people really drink that shiat? I'd be so farking embarrassed to buy that. Want something with a lot of alcohol? Try whiskey. Want something that can be drank in large quantities over the period of a night? Try beer. Mix 'n match as you feel appropriate.

farking kids these days. I've never noticed Four Loco in my area, but we have Joose. Makes me laugh.
