Honestly though, I suspect foul play. It is like the guy had to keep pushing, pushing folks to see what their limit was ... his last newsworthy ride was something akin to wearing a beige (flesh colored) sock on his dong and going for a bicycle ride in a neighborhood (full of kids? school is out now.) In some places that is shock-worthy news or self awareness or tribal spiritualism or whatever, in South Texas that is just asking for a vigilante justice crew to kill you and throw you over a cliff.

It would be pretty hard to do that in Big Bend. Pretty much where ever you are in that park there's a phalanx of Japanese tourists there to take your picture or cops to make sure you're not jumping the border or hiking without a permit. i think there's more road in that place than there is park.
