Ah, Restaurant 3. For those times when you crave something more intimate than La Tasca, but The Cheesecake Factory is just too upscale.

Never thought of myself as a Gramur Natzi before... but... when I checked out the 'menu'... the first words that my eyes were drawn to were:
iceburge (lettuce)
invused (vodka)
Laginitas

Doesn't diminish the wonderfulness of Bacon.

Mix on a cookie sheet (or baking pan)
well cooked, well drained (overnight if possible) bacon (1lb)
chow mein noodles (1 can +/-)

over this mixture, pour
melted (1 bar) Baker's chocolate
let set for a few hours (or less than a few in fridge)
break into clumps

pizen: Only a week?

seriously.....every day should be Bacon Appreciation Day

and I was a little surprised at their version of Bacon Explosion. After learning about it as a super bowl dish about 2-3 years ago, I had to make it. And all the recipe called for was bacon and sausage....I may have to borrow the idea of adding cheese to mine when I make it again

(and speaking of the devil ....mmmm....bacon!)

Damn, wish I could get down to DC. Pork...

When I was younger I would have everyone cut the fat off of their pork chops to give to me while we were at the dinner table. I also got dibs on the yummy ham from the smoked ham hocks when my mom made beans.

I'm sure that I sound fat; I'm not. However, I now want pork chops.

/whisks away to get dinner going

A dog doesn't disregard its own feces. Is a dog a filthy animal?

The only thing remotely close to good bacon is prosciutto. It doesn't fry up quite as nice as bacon, but if you can find some that has not been ruined by refrigeration it is amazing uncooked with a little melon and white wine.

i've had chocolate covered bacon on a stick (thank you Wisconsin State Fair) and it was surprisingly good. the key was to chew it to the point that the chilled bacon fat melted with the chocolate. amazingly yummy.

I'll pass on the bacon martini, thanks.

On a somewhat different note, instead of infusing vodka with bacon, has anyone tried putting bacon in with the botanicals while making gin? That would allow you to balance out the flavor among other things, and could be quite interesting.

I can't eat bacon that isn't incredibly crispy I just can't stand limp bacon for some reason.

/pepperoni on the other hand I'll just snatch out of the fridge and gobble down like potato chips
