I'm going to get married ASAP because I'd be a fool not to have the opportunity to take part in this deal!

Don't know about you guys, but I'm hoping that an anti-marriage thread beats out the misogyny thread here.

Sucker. It'll keep dropping. I'll bet you could go as low as a grand and a few haldol tabs.

Detectives claim Boyd's husband gave an acquaintance cash, five oxycontin pills, a layout of the couple's home and suggested using a firearm. But the hitman backed out and told police.

Isn't that breach of contract or something? The husband paid for a service that was never provided. Dude should get a refund, at the very least.

That's what she gets for trying to take half of his stuff. Women should learn their place. This is a man's world, and she should be happy with whatever he gives her.

I wonder if anyone ever puts hits out on themselves, and, if so, how payment would be handled.

Ladies got plenty of reasons not to get government entrenched in their personal relationships too.

Didn't the feminists used to say that a woman doesn't need a man to take care of her? I don't get why so many modern women are so marriage-gay.

And this is the lesson to be learned.

Lets say the guy stood to loose $30,000 in the divorce settlement (probably actually quite a low figure). Don't pay $2,000 for the hit. If you're going to loose $30k anyway, pay a good $10k and get someone you know will do the job and not rat you out. You still save $20k so it's all roses.

I wonder if the would-be hitman is eligible for a reward for turning this guy in? If so I guess that is a good lesson for jilted husbands - find out what the police offer as a reward to turn in a hit-request, and make sure you beat it by at LEAST 10%. Just because someone is willing to murder for money doesn't mean they don't care about profit margins. This is America after all.

I always wondered what the motivation for a professional hit man would be not to turn in his clients if caught. I realized that a good hit man would be well respected in prison, and if he was looking for work when he got out, it'd be bad form to have turned over your former employer.

I know we're just snarking just to snark but I wanted to avoid the misogyny thread more than I wanted to state the obvious "women don't need to be married". Apologies if I came off sounding condescending; absolute last thing I wanted to sound like.

Rules for Hiring a Hitman:

1. If you get quoted a price its the police
2. If they offer you a pay later plan its the police
3. Its the police. The chances that you even remotely know or have access to a bona fide killer for hire is so small your better off playing the lotter

Most of these "professional hit men" we have in stories like this are guys who think they are desperate and bad-assed enough to kill someone else for money, not Tony Soprano.

When they get caught or lose their nerve they have NO reason not to turn in their "client".

I guess the economy really is improving! Here's the numbers from only a few months ago:

This case in Rockville mirrors two others in Baltimore County this year. Karla Porter faces charges of hiring a group of individuals to kill her husband at their Towson gas station and Jaclyn Martin is accused of paying a few hundred bucks to kill her husband outside his Dundalk bar. Friends say he was also seeking divorce.

Sounds like now's the time to get into hitting, before the bubble pops again!
