Angle, a Southern Baptist, has called herself a faith-based politician. Among her positions, she opposes abortion in all circumstances, including rape and incest and doesn't believe the Constitution requires the separation of church and state.

Whenever politicians like Angle fight against the separation of church and state, all they're doing is making it easier for their worst nightmare, Sharia in the United States, to come true.

In a recording of the rally provided to The Associated Press by the Mesquite Local News, a man is heard asking Angle : "I keep hearing about Muslims wanting to take over the United States ... on a TV program just last night, I saw that they are taking over a city in Michigan and the residents of the city, they want them out. They want them out. So, I want to hear your thoughts about that."

Mesquite, hmm, that sounds sorta like Mosque, OMG the Muslims have taken over the news everyone run for your lives!!!!!1!!!

This.

That requires too much thought for an authoritarian to grasp.

Bullshiat! Afghanistan has much less gunfire and not near as much burnt-out rubble.

A good and interesting point but let's not bury the lede here:

Sharron Angle actaually said, Outloud, that she believed Muslim terrorists had physically seized control of two US cities (which she named specifically) and imposed their own law there

we're talking about a militant terrorist situation, which I believe it isn't a widespread thing, but it is enough that we need to address, and we have been addressing it."

"My thoughts are these, first of all, Dearborn, Michigan, and Frankford, Texas are on American soil, and under constitutional law. Not Sharia law. And I don't know how that happened in the United States," she said. "It seems to me there is something fundamentally wrong with allowing a foreign system of law to even take hold in any municipality or government situation in our United States."

That's beyond derp, or rabble rousing, that's full on delusional behavior. and I loved how the article's writer subtly made it clear that Angle was utterly coo-coo bananas:

Dearborn, Mich., has a thriving Muslim community. It was not immediately clear why Angle singled out Frankford, Texas, a former town that was annexed into Dallas around 1975.

In other word the place doesn't even exist any more....yikes

What amazes me is that I don't think the conservative portion of the bench considered that when making some recent (as in the last 5 years) decisions.

Yet, we must ask ourselves, why doesn't this town exist anymore? Sure, some people say it was annexed into Dallas, but was it, really? Or was it that the muslins took the town over, wiped it from the map, and Obama hid that fact by saying it was 'annexed'.

Release the annexation certificate, Obama. Why are you hiding it?

Just asking.

That's absolutely hilarious, that she said that. We'd still be a colony if we followed this line of thinking.

Democracy was invented by the Greeks and refined by the French, not crapped out by an American Bald Eagle after it got farked by Ronald Reagan.

Ibrahim Hooper, a spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, a Washington-based advocacy group, called Angle's statements "bizarre."

"This seems to be an example of incoherent bigotry. It is pretty clear that she has something against Islam and Muslims but she is so incoherent you don't know what she stands for," Hooper said.

That's hilariously spot-on.

Angle's campaign did not answer questions about her statements.

"I'm pretty sure that she did make it clear that there had been incidents in the news, but there is nothing widespread, and that we have freedom of religion in this country," said spokesman Jarrod Agen in an e-mail.

Now there is a guy with the worst job in the world. I wonder if her staff play Clue with their responses? "Okay, it's Friday...I bet she calls for insurrection against Muslims in Dearborn.

So much THIS.

Take that away, and you can't biatch about some other religion gaining a majority and putting their own laws into practice. My kid goes to a charter school (still considered public since it's funded by tax dollars) that's run by Muslims - should they open each day with a Muslim prayer? No. And neither should a public school run by Christians.

Although...If they DID have organized Islamic prayers I'd love it purely out of spite.

The only way I can even begin to reasonably explain this, is that people are so tired of voting for "the lesser evil" that they're just saying "fark it", and shooting themselves straight in the foot.

I do not envy the position Nevada voters find themselves in. On one hand you have the highly unpopular Reid and on the other you have the whack-job Angle. But come on, at some point you have to say to yourself, "Hey, this zit is annoying and ugly, but the only way to get rid of it now is to get herpes. I think I'll pass."

Don't they have the option in Nevada to vote for "None of the above"? How is that not winning?

What city is this school run in? I would imagine that the DERP brigade would go nuts if they heard about a taxpayer-funded school run by Muslims.

I've often wondered if someone, maybe the Daily Show or Colbert or Maddow or someone, could get a psychologist or psychiatrist to go over things that certain politicians say (Angle, O'Donnell, Bachmann) and show how there a numerous indicators of real, honest to goodness, insanity.

You can skirt the slander bit by simply using their quotes as "examples of things an insane person might say" or something to that effect - you aren't calling them insane, you're just pointing out that someone insane might say the same thing.

In this case, "So someone who claims that militant Muslims took over two U.S. cities, one of which exists, the other does not, neither of which were taken over, and is completely sincere we assume, Doctor, would someone insane say this? Would this be a sign of actual insanity or dementia in a patient?" Again, you aren't saying she is insane, just asking if someone who was a patient said that, what would the doctor think.

Wonder what city she's talking about, can't be Dearborn, I've been to Dearborn, there's nobody complaining about the Muslims in that city. It would be like residence of Crenshaw saying there's too many blacks in the neighborhood and they want them out.

2010-10-08 03:48:57 PM
As a resident of Michigan, I must say that Sharia law in Dearborn looks remarkably like everywhere else. I say that because most of Dearborn has bars, restaurants, comic book stores (Green Brain, represent!!), and various other things that probably wouldn't fly in the Middle East.

Plus the women dressed in tight jeans and booty shorts probably don't follow Sharia law.

In fact, Dearborn is a pretty normal town in Metro Detroit. It's actually pretty nice. It's close to Detroit and the poverty and misery there, but as far as I can see I don't see Dearborn under Sharia Law.

I guess it's just more BULLshiat from an old dried up hag that wants her talking points to have some grip on reality by offering examples. It's not like any of her cowtown retard base is going to go to Dearborn and experience anything the city has to offer, so they can keep bleating their nonsense endlessly.

Then again, what do I know? I just live in the state and been to Dearborn numerous times and found it incredibly enjoyable. And they have some awesome record stores, too. Too bad Angle is just a hatemongering bigot with a rubber face or she might enjoy Dearborn as well.

2010-10-08 03:50:04 PM
At this point I almost want her to win so we get years of batshiat insane quotes from the republican party. Even if she does get elected she'll do more harm than good for the party. Though Nevada may just be farked.
