Blah, blah, blah..innocent till proven guilty blah, blah, blah

Had to get that out of the way first...but can't some Peruvian inmate off the dude so we don't have to hear about him anymore. It will lend some cred to how rough Peruvian prisons are supposed to be.

Serial killers always end up getting marriage offers.

The way this happens to killers and whatnot in jail totally fascinates me. Someone once told me it's because the women are afraid of commitment or some other nonsense and with a man in jail, there really isn't any commitment.

GAT_00: Serial killers always end up getting marriage offers.

I've always been perplexed as to why women go for these kinds.

2010-10-07 04:38:02 PM
One reason could be that a serial killer is the ultimate alpha male, and they can't resist their primal instincts.

Maybe they could be afraid of commitment.

Or, they could just be attention whores.

This.
What would be funny is if a woman married a man that was serving a few life sentences thinking he would never get out but all of his convictions were over turned for whatever reason and he was released. Now that would be a great reality show. "The Night Stalker and me"

Heck, the Menendez brothers got married in jail and they're not even allowed to have conjugal visits.

Not to each other, mind you. In case anyone was thinking that. I mean, it's silly, but I could see... I'll stop now.

Watch any interview with him that's longer than 30 seconds and tell me he's not guilty. He's a modern day Ted Bundy - a smart, egotistical/narcissistic prick who enjoys taunting his accusers and relishes the media attention. Here's hoping he's made a mistake somewhere that will hang him for good.

I think it has to be the attention whore angle coupled with perceived fame. "Poor me, I am married to a man behind bars. It is such a difficult road. Would you like an interview with me so I can tell you how hard it is?"

I think it's a varied combination of the three, with the last being the biggest reason.

There's a case in California going on right now. Guy was arrested for rape. Met/married woman while he was in prison, then when he got out she helped him kidnap a little girl and raise a "secret" family with the little girl.

Do a google search for Jaycee Dugard.

The Saw film series ought to devote one entire show to simulating the torture this piece of shiat. And then make it available for viewing by the prison inmates. To me, Dahmer seems like a gentle soul next to this garbage. And we know how Dahmer was treated. Oh I forget, he preyed on little black kids. Not a smart move if there's a possibility of prison in future.

In fact, that may be the proper punishment for Van der Sloot. Put him in a female prison. But only after his chemical castration. That should doubly piss off the prison women.

They... don't? We're talking a very small few women who do this. Not something you can extrapolate into something general about all women.

From what I understand, sociopaths often adapt very well to a structured, institutionalized setting like prison or a mental hospital.

So, yeah, folks that hope a killer like him is going to be miserable rotting in prison might be disappointed. I'm generally not in favor of the death penalty, but I think cases like these might be the exception.

Of course I don't necessarily think he's going to be having much fun in a Peruvian prison. I actually think it's despicable to mistreat prisoners, but some guys just go out of their way to try to change your mind...

My understanding is that sociopaths don't think they did anything wrong and believe prison is an injustice to them. I also read that he's starting to freak out in prison because he thinks people are going to kill him. So I say forget the death penalty, let's just watch his brain turn to pudding.

From what I saw (on a TV show - can't remember which one) his cell didn't look all that bad, compared to some of our finer American institutions. I've had the displeasure of spending a short time in a county jail here in the US, and when I saw Van der Sloot's cell, I thought to myself 'you farking nob , you do NOT deserve this level of comfort'. I hope they can extradite him to the US for that reason alone.

See, I always thought it was kind of the other way around. with him in jail, they knew he couldn't be running around on them, and would therefore remain faithful.

Except for the whole prison rape thing...

I want him to confess to the Holloway murder first. Then the Peruvian prisoners can draw and quarter him for all I care.

2010-10-07 08:39:32 PM
When he gets into general population he's f*cked... figuratively & literally. They're not too happy he (allegedly) killed a local. Dahmer got it quick with a broomstick into his eye socket. And if memory serves the guy who did it was considered a hero in the prison. I would rather see him put in general than executed.

Everybody gets theirs in the end... either in this life or the next. You may not get to see it, but everybody gets theirs.

Women only respect men who dominate them. It does not matter if he beats them, it is how women are wired.

2010-10-07 08:51:47 PM
There was an article a little while back that mentioned some other motive beyond what has already been stated in the thread. Many of these women come from abusive relationships so this a form of revenge for them. Once they were under the thumbs of their man and now this new guy has to rely on them for contact to the outside. So these women just as screwed up as their paramours, beyond the whole wanting be with a killer thing.
