DamnYankees: This probably clinches his Hall of Fame credentials.

I submitted a link to that effect, but this deserves the green.

SOOO glad the Dodgers passed on him. Way too expensive, just like Sabathia, Derek Lee, Roy Oswalt. Much better to save money so our owner can get out of debt and lower the value of the franchise so he won't have to pay his wife so much in the divorce settlement. In 5-6 years when this is all settled, we'll be back. It will be awesome...

/kill me now

2010-10-06 07:48:27 PM
It was against the Reds. Does that even count?

As a Mets fan, I really hate the Phillies, but I find it so damn difficult to dislike Halladay. Dammit.

2010-10-06 07:49:53 PM
well that was worth the wait.

I thought for sure that eight-foot roller by Brandon Phillips was going to break it up.

/congrats, Roy. You're awesome, even if you're a Phillie.

2010-10-06 07:51:24 PM
I stand corrected -- the Rays aren't the worst team in the postseason this year.

Banacek: First thing he does is thank his catcher. Man he is a class act.

First thing every pitcher who wins a game does is thank his catcher.

Another no hitter? It's not that exciting when it happens every other game

2010-10-06 07:52:25 PM
Also, as a Jays fan, I am so happy I rushed home from school to watch this. There is no way I would have missed Doc's first playoff start.

air_wx: That's really cool, but ?

First time there's been one in the playoffs since Don Larson threw the perfect game in the world series, second time ever.

I'd say it meets the standard.

Please stop acting like the NLDS is comparable to the World Series.

For the majority of baseball's history the postseason WAS the World Series. Now it's diluted by 400%. It's just not as meaningful.

Is it awesome? Of course. But it's the first no-hitter ever thrown in a Divisional Series. Don't speak it in the same breath as Don Larsen.
