So in other words, let's point out the 14 minor things in the stimulus that you don't think was necessary and ignore the thousands of places that money went to that you do agree with.

Where I work, we are having major renovations done, paid at least in part by stimulus money. Those dollars are providing work for a lot of people in the construction industry from the workers to the companies making and selling the materials used.

If the picture was real, it would suggest she was about 7 feet tall.

Her mockery would mean more if her only concept of "stimulus dollars" is how much she used to get in pesos for giving hand jobs.

It's the government's job to stop taxing businesses so much so they can create jobs DUH!

All of these "It cost $500,000 to create two jobs!" articles always have the same basic issue. They are mainly grants for research projects, or building projects that calculate the total amount of money given to the project, and then people just look at the number of jobs and divide.

Jobs aren't the only goal of the money, as it costs money in equipment and materials to actually carry out the jobs. A basic $500K research grants might pay for

1 faculty salary
2 graduate student salaries

totaling less than 100K, and the remaining 400K goes to keeping the lights and water on in the building, buying research equipment and consumables, computers, etc. The same goes for all the construction projects. If a building costs $100 million and 50 people worked to build it, it didn't cost $2 million a job - the money was for more than just jobs. Christ.

Where I work, we've had multiple companies that do business with us cite the stimulus as at least partially funding their projects.

We've hired at least 3 people at our location, and multiple throughout the company, but those numbers are not included in the "jobs created" number.

We're so busy they're contemplating hiring another person here.

That article very well points out the fundamental dishonesty of the left, and the formerly mainstream media's complicity in it. Case in point for those too lazy or too frightened to click:

From the WaPo article:

The massive economic stimulus package President Obama pushed through Congress last year is coming in on time and under budget - and with strikingly few claims of fraud or abuse - according to a White House report to be released Friday.

Coming barely a month before November's midterm elections, which will determine whether Democrats retain control of Congress, the report challenges public perceptions of the stimulus aid as slow-moving and wasteful - an image that has fueled voter anger with the dominant party. Even some former skeptics who predicted that the money would lead to rampant abuse now acknowledge that the program could serve as a model for improving efficiency in government.

Notice anything missing in that analysis?

Let's see ... the stimulus was ... on time ... under budget ... less fraud than expected...

Anything missing? Anyone? Anyone care to guess?

OK, we'll let The Evil One, a.k.a. Michelle Malkin, point it out:

Have you noticed how the definition of "success" of the stimulus has shifted from jobs to fraud? "Yeah, maybe the economy lost jobs during a stimulus that was supposed to increase employment, and some projects ended up costing $2 million per job, but not nearly as much of it was stolen as we originally thought would be! Yay!"

In other news, I just wrote a report that rates this as the "best blog post ever." According to the report, even former skeptics who the report doesn't name believe this blog post will serve as a model for improving the efficiency of posts on other blogs.

And that's before we even get to the massive wastes of money that created few if any jobs.

Now play your role, ignore all of the above, and say bad things about me and Malkin.

make me some tea: So in other words, let's point out the 14 minor things in the stimulus that you don't think was necessary and ignore the thousands of places that money went to that you do agree with.

And if anyone makes a road sign (that is .01% of the budget for a project) that informs people of these things, so it isn't so distorted by propagandists, THAT TOO is an outrage.

Both my dad and brother in law work construction and are of the right-wing persuasion. Both are saying the only jobs they are getting are hospitals and schools.
