Camp Randall should be higher than #11. Mostly that's just for being able to feel the stadium shake when it's "Jump Around" time.

I've only been there for non-conference games and the stadium has been packed and I've left with my ears ringing. I can only imagine what it's like when anyone from the Big Ten is in the house.

"Colorado fans will be the first to tell you that Folsom Field can reach extreme decibels on occasion. For a stadium that seats under 54,000 the noise levels are really impressive.

Most people think of the view when you bring up the Buffaloes' homefield, but there's no denying that this is a top-25 stadium when it comes to damaging your ears."

Colorado's more known for being gigantic pricks than loud fans. They can be loud, but they're much more notorious for throwing shiat on the field and spitting on the opposing team.

Back in the 90s when A&M was dominant, Kyle Field was #1, and everyone said it and knew it.

Sad we've fallen so far as a program. Hopefully tonight...

hmm...been to many UF games where we stopped trying to hear what the announcer was saying over the PA..but I have to admit that the game at LSU was louder.
FSU game was no slouch either....as for the Cocktail party, if you're sober enough to notice the noise, you're doing it wrong.

This. Folsom is not a loud stadium, at least not loud enough to deserve a top 25 ranking. Also, WTF is Air Force's Falcon Stadium doing up there? Most of the time it is empty, save the cadet section. I've seen people reading books there (seriously). Don't get me wrong, it is a killer place to go to watch a game (they give free quality booze to fans outside the gates) and the flyby is always epic, but it is hardly an intimidating and loud stadium. Even so, I highly recommend going, if only for the tailgating and scenery.

cicdle: I thought Oregon and Clemson have traded the out door record. I was at the Clemson triple OT loss to Miami a few years ago, my ears are still ringing. It was so loud the announcers were having trouble talking over it.

I was at that game as well, sitting in the upper deck. Not only could you not even hear yourself yelling, the entire freaking upper deck was shaking. If there is anything louder than that on a college campus, I'd love to experience it.

Very rarely does the University of Kansas really embarrass me, but that is an instance when it truly does.

The Aggie War Hymn between the 3rd and 4th quarter at Kyle Field is the coolest thing I've ever seen in a football stadium.

IAmRight: The UW game I went to was against LSU and they just managed to hang in the game against a team that was supposed to beat them by a lot. I'd guess the 20,000+ LSU fans there probably helped the noise level, but I'd say it was more of the stacked bleachers with the roof overhead directing all the noise back down. Then the bleachers sway and it gets scary.

Just say it like you know you want to, "all those loud mouth SEC fans were just toooooo loud!"

/hopefully UGA doesnt embarrass us this weekend

Well, actually our recruiting isn't as horrible as the coaching. But yeah, we are looking pretty grim....Fire Wulff and Bring in one of the 3 Mikes...Belloti, Leach of Price any of the 3 would be fine by me.

As far as UW, Sark is doing a bang up job over there..However, Locker is turning out to be exactly what I have been telling all my UW buddies for 3 years..Great Athlete but not Heisman worthy or anyone I would build a NFL franchise around.

I think you're calling it too soon on Locker. The kid had a terrible game against Nebraska, but he'll dust himself off. Probably better that the Heisman talk is done now.

2009 stats: 58.2% (230/395) 2800 yds, 21 TDs, 11 INTs, 388 rush yds with 7 TDs

I'd expect to see something around there again this year with more rushing yeards.

The problem is exactly that...Sark didnt turn him loose. I still stick with what I said, but he is a pretty good kid. His accuracy needs to come around tremendously to be considered NFL worthy.

Though it will never be known as one of the loudest, I was at Reser when Oregon State defeated USC, and it was so loud there that my ears were ringing and my throat was sore for a couple days afterword.

They brought their band, but I never heard them play the only song they know.

I will admit, Iowa State's stadium does not generally rock.

Also, whoever came up with the idea that "Sweet Caroline" should be played on the PA between the third and fourth quarters needs to be sentenced to watching the 1994 season over and over again.

i have this theory that with UT being down recently that the stadium has gotten more hostile (at least until UT's down 20). there aren't bandwagon fans taking up seats just the crazed, drunken southerns who would kill for tennessee.

Come hang out in the student section. It's pretty much always been that way

Those are the numbers of exactly what he said: someone who is a good athlete, but not an elite QB. If you can't complete at least 60% of passes in college, that doesn't bode well for you. And a 2/1 INT/TD ratio is pretty bad in college, too.

Very overrated (inasmuch as people were declaring the worst teams in the NFL in "the Jake Locker sweepstakes".)

I agree with you, but to be totally fair, the guy was saddled with a pretty bad team around him when he arrived (especially the lines) which led to hurried throws and scrambles (and thus basically 2 years of not learning how to play QB correctly). We saw progress last season after he missed most of 2008, and I'd been hoping for more this season. Maybe the drubbing against Nebraska will be the kick in the butt he needs to get back to thinking before he turns to the athleticism. Right now, he is a good QB, I think he could be a great deal better by the end of the season.

Actually, it's 41st. Yeah, I'm surprised it's on the list too. It also included this slightly amusing tidbit:

Purdue's Ross-Ade Stadium is an underrated venue and believe it or not can pack quite a good punch a few times a year. The fans come out and support the team in rain or shine and with the program looking like one on the rise its louder than usual.

Clearly, the article writer has not been paying attention to Purdue football this year.

Can't wait to have you guys in the Big Ten. The first home game in each others house is going to be pretty epic.

Not sure if Nebraska has ever played in Ohio Stadium, but you guys will feel right at home (well aside from the 105,000 screaming at you instead of for you). Our stadiums are actually very similar in design.

I have some family in Nebraska. I've already started planning a trip to visit them that might happen to coincide with the first Ohio State @ Nebraska game. Just have to line up some tickets and it's a done deal. Of course, scoring some good tickets for a reasonable price for the first game between them will be no small task.

I'm an Oregon and Notre Dame alum. List is correct in that Autzen is 3x more deafening than Notre Dame most of the time, even though Autzen holds 30k fewer people. I'm told the ND-USC game that we almost won in '05 was insanely loud, but I chose to watch that gut punch of a game from the dorm.
