Hagar the Corporation.

I'm impressed. They actually were able to make those as unfunny as regular newspaper comics--no easy feat.

So basically every comic would be Mallard Fillmore?

Ooops! You forgot to tell a joke!

So does M. Fillmore. Always.

... if not even less funny. (Yes, yes, less than zero funny. "Negative funny.") Politics aside, they just weren't funny... or particularly intelligent... or in some cases even particularly coherent.

I hope I'm not the only one appalled by the hijacking specifically of Calvin and Hobbes, Far Side and Boondocks for this failrific exercise.

If it's anything like most (though not all) rightwing comedic endeavors, I suspect it would be woefully unfunny.

I actually thought a few of those were pretty good. Dilbert and Far Side in particular.

You guys do realize this is satire, right? That it's mocking the Tea Party?

2010-09-28 04:40:49 PM
Oh, and Ward Sutton, who they credited with assisting in the creation of the strips, is the guy behind the "Kelly" cartoons in the Onion.

CheekyMunky: Oh, and Ward Sutton, who they credited with assisting in the creation of the strips, is the guy behind the "Kelly" cartoons in the Onion.

Which would explain why they don't suck.

Like a Fark thread that GatoNegro has posted in?

2010-09-28 05:27:21 PM
Don't printboy and Phil Herup usually post these in Fartbama threads?

2010-09-28 05:28:49 PM
Has anyone mentioned yet that we have our own teabag comic publishers right here?

2010-09-28 05:31:36 PM
Wow, uh... Some of these are actually pretty funny too.

It's like the 4-panel "Obama = ..., Biden = ..., McCain = ..., Palin = (something related but stupid)" shoops that were going around here right before the 2008 election. The only funny reversed pro-right wing ones were done by liberal posters taking pity on the wingers.

A Dark Evil Omen: It's like the 4-panel "Obama = ..., Biden = ..., McCain = ..., Palin = (something related but stupid)"

I looooved those. Some were just brilliant.

hillbillypharmacist: Yup.

Thanks for pointing out how Quasar forgot to include "and painfully inaccurate"

Yeah, I was just thinking that I'm going to have to upload that one for future use...

huh. how long until we see these posted without irony in *support* of TEA Parties by the very TEAhadis who don't realize the cartoons are poking fun at them?

I thought they were being purposefully unfunny. Maybe I was giving the creator too much credit?

I imagine all of these will be showing up in Fark threads soon... as non-parody.

No, I understand that. I wasn't commenting on the satire in the link so much as I was on its target.

I was halfway expecting Beetle Bailey to come out of the closet to the Sarge.

I'm surprised a major publication had the balls to put that out.

Every other news source keeps legitimizing them with their "equal time for insane arguments" nonsense.

Well you see their stereotypes about Tea Party people run so deep they can't even tell what the difference between what the Tea Party actually stands for, and what they want to believe they stand for so they can mock and marginalize them.

Haha! That is why free speech under the "fairness" doctrine will only mean "liberals talk, and you listen"

Wow, they actually made Cathy worse. I didn't think that was even possible.

2010-09-28 05:53:49 PM
Hey LOOK! A couple actually done by tesa-partiers snuck in there somehow.

to me, Dan Ariely explains^ is why the tea party exists. I think that's pretty much the whole thing in 30 seconds or so.

Yet another moran who doesn't realize that the Fairness Doctrine was constitutionally limited to broadcasting.

And that it is gone and is never coming back.

Otherwise, though, spot on!

Those are almost-all briliant. It brings such joy that such uhh...fark I just forgot that 89% of the people I hang out with would neither understand the difference between the actual comic, 99.99% of the people I know would think any individual cartoon was something to discuss in all seriousness at lunch and 99.999% of people think "comics are porn" but these is god's's' (sic) comicals.

I honestly hate even people I like at this point. I almost believe it makes us closer.

Bring back the Fairness Doctrine

There are those trying to bring the Whig Party back, too. Just about as likely.

Oh, and learn how to use farking apostrophes, would you?
