Wow - a Jersey Shore™ story I actually wanted to know and greatly enjoyed.

Good on ya, Bruce...

I'll hand it to Springsteen -- the man is made of class and win.

I'm not a huge fan if his music, but he seems like one of the more down to Earth megastars so I give him props for that.

"I figured if five people are hanging out and one of them is Bruce, he should have the guitar. So I passed it to him," Dwyer said.

Good for Dwyer to take a shot like that.

Ed looks like he bought his clothes from a 1980's LL Bean catalog. If he looked any more preppy, well, boola boola.

Cool of Bruce, but Biff looks like a tool.

Me neither, but sitting by the Manasquan inlet at sunset on a warm late summer day after the bennies have gone home is a feeling I cherish from my youth, and apparently so does Bruce. Good for him living up to his reputation as the King of Monmouth county.

Damn, I wish that would have happened when I got married.

A ready made excuse to kick that pompous dickhead's ass?

Yes, please.

Just saw that one last night, looked like a setup to me. I could see Bruce hanging out at the shore, though. Not a fan of his either, but he sounds like a pretty decent person.

I'm not a big Bruce Springsteen fan. But that was jolly nice of him.

I hope Bruce didn't wear out the happy couple with one of those monologues about how fifteen years from now the steel mill was gonna close and put daddy out of work while their daughter ran away from home in the rain...

How does Bruce Springsteen manage to sit on a bench -- on the Jersey shore of all places, where he's revered as a god -- without being swarmed by a mob?

Super Chronic: How does Bruce Springsteen manage to sit on a bench -- on the Jersey shore of all places, where he's revered as a god -- without being swarmed by a mob?

It's not unusual for him to be out and about. People from the area know that and tend to be pretty respectful of his privacy and don't bother him.

Like when he showed up at a Lakewood BlueClaws (minor league baseball) game a few years back. Crowd of 6,000+ people. Took about two minutes for word to reach everyone, but not a single person bothered him. He was about ten rows behind me, and though lots of people took a look, no mobs.

Sort of the same thing but not really. Here in Cincinnati, when he was playing, Anthony Munoz could go where ever he wanted and not be bothered because he was so damn nice and polite when he talked to people everyone respected his right to be left alone.

I wish he had played Nebraska. Those pictures would have been very interesting.

I live at the Jersey Shore and can attest to the earlier poster's claim that Bruce is often out and about. In the last six months I have seen him at a bar at least 3 times, and I hear stories from friends often as well. I've talked to him, no csb, just "Hey I'm a big fan, when are you gonna play the pony?" or whatever, and he is always friendly enough. I think the majority of people who live in Monmouth County have some story about him.

People generally leave him alone, and he comes across as a regular dude. Seeing him at the bar is sort of like spotting a double rainbow.

habitual_masticator: Who takes engagement photos?

Self-indulgent idiots (usually the woman) who will be looking for the best divorce lawyer before a decade is out (usually the castrated guy who wants to grow his balls back).

I'm not a big fan of his music, but I really admire Springsteen because of all the stories I've heard about him that are similar to this... he's a regular guy who done good, and always makes time for his fans.

Awesome, Bruce... just awesome.

I guess not everyone from Jersey gets it.

Me? I was a fan long before BORN IN THE USA, but to each their own.

/Also likes Southside Johnny.
