In another upcoming episode, Bert angrily tells Ernie, "I wish I knew how to quit you."

So, it's cool to show our kids these devil vampires but not ok to show some katy perry cleavage?

why am i surprised this? you'd think I'd be used to watching cool things sell out.

So will a puppet forcibly copulate with another one and twist its head 180 degrees? Awesome.

Not the first time Sesame Street did a parody of a tv show that is far beyond the age range of it's demographic. Like this one they did of Twin Peaks.

So will Oscar hate fark Elmo?

It's going to be weird when Bert Stackhouse drinks too much V and ends up in the hospital with a raging boner.

Three words: Special Letters Unit.

Couldn't believe it when I saw it and thought about the usual content on SVU.

/but no Katy Perry though.

Hello, I'm Oscar, the King of Sesame Street...

Didn't Sesame Street just boot Katy Perry due to an excess of teh boobs?

2010-09-24 11:45:54 AM
I found the parody better than the actual show. Is it bad when puppets acted with more believable emotions than people?

CNN had some article yesterday about all of the expert work that goes into getting those great Southern accents in True Blood. Must have been filed from the NYC office.

True Felt?

Uh, I'm not really so sure I approve of this. I know FARK is all anti-PTC and stuff, but I find the idea of letting children watch TruBlood unsettling. This is probably for parents and not kids, but it seems like a waste of programming to devote an entire episode to a reference only some parents will get. What educational value does this have anyway?

It's about rhyming?

They once had a little cartoon based on the bridge keeper from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. No kid would have any idea what was being referenced.

Ooh, is it going to be another "Monsterpiece Theater"? I loved it when they did "Twin Beaks", I couldn't stop laughing.

As I've noted, Sesame Street and Jim Henson's Muppets have been doing adult-themed stuff for years. The original pilot for the Muppet Show was subtitled "Sex and Violence" for god's sake. And that was the 70s!

They've always done programs that can be enjoyed by both kids and adults for decades. I'm sure this parody will have something about numbers and letters or whatever to make it educational.

What's wrong with trying to entertain the parents stuck watching children's programing?

How come there isn't a Muppets Network? All muppets All the Time.
Immagine programming like 2g1c in felt, Bert as Dexter, Super Grover's very own show, muppet news, the american eagle doing the Eagle report, etc etc.

You should do what my mom did, smoke some weed. Apparently, Seseme Street is pretty entertaining when you're high...

re: TheRaven7 - it teaches them about blood type matching, the benefits of a feudal culture, relationship management and how to love your neighbor! If they haul Skarsgard in, topless, so much the better. I would voluntarily watch it for the first time ever :)

As a father who had to endure SS many times back when my son was young, I feel I can speak with some authority on this.

They should have let Katy do her bit on the show. Would have given me some entertainment.

bv2112: So will a puppet forcibly copulate with another one and twist its head 180 degrees? Awesome.

That's what I was thinking about. Elmo twisting the little, pink puppet's head around as he forcibly takes her from behind. That, or Bert could rip the newscaster's spine out while talking about eating Muppet babies. That's just good television.

I hate articles that don't point to the video that they're referencing that's online.

It's a cute spoof, but how far has Sesame Street fallen?

They went from

"Ten Banana Cream Piiiiiieeeeeeeesss" (new window)
to spoofing an ultraviolent, hypersexed, and homoerotic show where a news reporter got "sub zero'd" in the season finale.
